The Beach is my Happy Place
from Serenila di Campagna
A mama seagull and her babies play among shells, starfish and other things left on the beach. I think I even see a message in the bottle! Dusty, gorgeous, restfull... it belongs at the waterfront!
Charted for DMC threads, the stitch count is 187 x 119 (12 x 7.5 on 32 ct). The instructions are in Italian, French and English.
Birds and Animals for the Seasons - I Colori delle stagioni #3 and #4
We have come across two set of designs - Birds and Animals for the 4 Seasons - that are charming! From Serenila di Campagna, they come from Italy, and include the seasons charted in English, French and Italian.
The animals one features a cat, squirrel, geese and rabbit... each abut 90 x 50 in stitch count - without their seasons' name below.
The birds are about the same size. I believe all are stitched on Country Vintage Mocha linen, and they are coded for tons of luscious DMC colors! Stitch them together as long pieces, or simply the smaller animals.
Des Couleurs dans mon Jardin
from Jardin Prive
I think that says 'The Colors of the Garden' doesn't it? I don't need words to convey how pretty this little piece is! Stitched on Waterlily or Star Sapphire Linen, choose your count, it'll finish approx 6 x 6.
Coded for 11 shades of DMC, I love everything about those 20 x 20 stitched squares. Make them individually into cushions... add clay bee buttons instead of stitching the bees, use #8 Pearl Cotton for the white lacy borders to give it texture, make the sheep wooley - this is just the sweetest piece with pretty soft coloring. It's very small, delightfully so, and offered as a chart.
May Arrivals from Stitching With The Housewives Due in the Shop May 3rd-ish!
Please Grow and Spring is Springing from Val's Stuff
Two new arrivals by Val's stuff... they hint at Spring, but after this last February weather... who knows?
Spring Scamper from Luminous Fiber Arts
Oh my gosh, this is the CUTEST! What a wild ride everyone is enjoying! *It's time for Spring Scamper, the annual race through the tulips to see who is the fastest! The bunny and chick are leaping into the lead, while their friends race to catch up in their carrot-mobile. A chick in a radish plane (that is the best part!) flies overhead towing the race banner while tossing carrots like confetti down on the competitors! What a charming scene!
Presented as a chart, this measures 111 x 266 - so it'll finish approx 7 x 16 on 32ct. Worked with hand-dyeds and lots of DMC, I just love it. You COULD do this on 18ct linen and use #5 Perle Cotton... like the Bent Creek globe kits or the Shepherd's Bush stockings... then finish it into a glorious big couch pillow... it'd measure 12 x 30! (take a ton of thread... but how fun anyway!)
Enjoy several other new designs when you click through!
Presenting Jelly Bean Jubilee from With Thy Needle & Thread
Brenda Gervais has just announced her newest leaflet release - Jelly Bean Jubilee! Seven cheerful bunny and bean designs - full of bright, happy colors!
Stitch them all on a fat-quarter cut of your favorite fabric... round up some cute ribbons and trims... and you'll be ready for Easter!
Isn't this little guy cute? With his words, he finishes about 8 x 9 on 14/28ct. I think he'd be a cute Springtime decoration hanging in the back hallway by all the jackets and boots!
I think there's a lot of stitching here... but some of you guys can whip these things up SO FAST! Coded for DMC, presented as a leaflet.
Somebunny Loves You
from Cottage Garden Samplings
This cute little guy measures 93 x 125, so will finish about 6-1/2 x 9 on 28ct. It is simply coded for 10 colors of DMC.
We think it'd make a cute pillow for a little girl's bedroom!
Basket Full of Easter
from Bent Creek
The next *thing of things* design... here's an Easter basket stuffed with two cute chicks, a pair of carrots, 5 decorated eggs, 5 flowers, a butterfly and that cute little blue bunny.
There IS a lot on there! Complete kit contains the presorted #5 Pearl Cotton and cut of 18ct Natural Linen to make this cute 6 x 6 basket!
Honey Bunny Sampler
from Artful Offerings
Thoughts of Spring in the air already? Artful Offerings has a sweet new piece that might make that easier right now! Ms Honey Bunny is stitched on 30ct Weeks Linen color of hand-dyed linen with various shades of hand-dyed flosses. She finishes approx 8 inches square. Can you find the four-leaf-clover hidden in the pic?
Just a fun piece, you get a little graphic texture from the diamond shapes on the rabbit... wouldn't this be fun stitched with Gentle Art's Simply Wool threads?
Whirligigs from Heart in Hand
Small card-charts that fit the tops of Cecelia's Heartware bowls and her new Heartware Tarts!
The tarts are hand-made ceramic by the same artist that does her bowls (which are gorgeous by the way!) They're going to make lovely, weighted pin cushions all over the world!!! Charts are $6 each, Tarts will be $38.
Presenting Spring Mouse Scissor Roll -- Featuring Dilly Mouse... from Just Nan
Nan's next miniature stitched scissor roll arrived the second week of March. Designed to hold a 3-1/2 or 4 inch pair of embroidery scissors, your 10 x 2 stitched piece features 4 tiny garden scenes that roll to the outside, and a charming verse with tiny mice scurrying towards the trellis pocket that will hold your scissors. Nan talks about a fence with flowers under the wisteria, daffodils under a splashing wall fountain, towering jonquils reaching for the sun, and a large basket of flowers on a garden table - ALL OF THAT is featured in those 4 tiny panels!
Stitched on 32ct Weeks hand-dyed Morris Blue Linen, the case is lined with more Weeks hand-dyed wool... and Ms Dilly Mouse perches on top of the whole thing. Dilly is stitched on Honeysuckle linen - her dress is decorated with daffodils. She has an amber glass daffodil hat, and she is holding a tiny pair of stork scissors. Included with the chart is an 8-page stitch guide, hand-dyed Iris wool, wired string mouse tail, signature button base for mouse, glass flower hat, beads, snap closure for case, and mini stork scissor charm. You'll need the fabric cuts and DMC flosses from your stash.
More Chocolate Bunnies from Hands On Designs
Hands On is releasing this darling design at the show... it features Sulky brand flosses... which we will also have available! Cute new design, wouldn't this be fun finished as a flat 'sign' on a stick to poke into an Spring flower pot or Easter Basket? Life DOES meed more Chocolate Bunnies! Stitched on 32ct Weeks Aspen Linen (or anything medium colored), it measures approx 5 x 5, and features Sulky brand 12-weight Cotton Petite thread.
Cathy HAS coded this for DMC in case trying other thread scares you... but Sulky thread is *SORT OF LIKE* miniature, soft Perle Cotton #12. You use only one strand of this instead of two strands of regular floss. The chart comes with 6 white mini-buttons, the thread is offered separately, and is priced in between regular DMC and the hand-dyeds - so a pretty good value. This is a nice time to step outside your circle and try something a little new... cute design, favorite designer... kind of like a new outfit for Spring!
New From La D Da!
from Rosewood Manor
Rosewood Manor has a new sampler full of Springtime florals - but Quaker-Inspired! Choose just your favorite flowers and make them into ornaments or fobs, or stitch the whole, and hang it in your garden room!
Charted for RM's new set of Valdani's 3-Strand flosses... there are no DMC conversions offered... so if you want to use overdyeds from your stash, you get to be a little creative with color! Lots of pretty motifs in here, the main piece finishes approx 12 x 19 on 28ct.
Cherry Blossom Cottage from Victoria Sampler
Victoria Sampler has finished her 4-seasons set of seaside cottages. Finishing approx 5 x 5, you can stitch each of the 4 individually, with or without the border verse that surrounds. We were here discussing how unlikely it is that someone lives in a pink house on the water... but I bet SOME of you do! (and you are lucky!)
Anyway, special stitches, lots of luscious threads in the embellishment pack, choose just about any light blue fabric to stitch this onto... the whole series has been colorful, full of texture, and charming!
Presenting Holiday Hoopla - A Series of Smalls
from With Thy Needle Brenda is celebrating the seasons with some cute 3-inch designs... Easter was the first. Valentine's Day and St Patrick's Day Hoopla designs will round out this cute set of 7 holidays! All are fun and quick to stitch.
She is showing them mounted in little 3-inch wooden embroidery hoops... but if you're hot a *hooper* little cushions or something like that will work well too. (40ct needed for the 3-inch hoop finishing option.)
Cheerful Things from Sew Much 2 Luv. All presented as charts...
Walkin' On Sunshine
from Luhu Stitches
Isn't this a fun design? It breezed through our doors this week, and just makes me smile! By Cyndy Young of Luhu Stitches, it is worked on a light blue (any pretty blue or yellow would be good...) and finishes just 4 x 6 on 14/28ct. Finish it as a flat hanging or a fun block-shape stand-up.
I am dating myself, but when I was in something like 3rd grade, I had a *Thing Maker*... it was a little cooker thing, and you poured the 'Plasti-Goop' into little metal trays and cooked *Fun Flowers.* That sun reminds me SO MUCH of the flowers that I made in my Thing Maker! (I was so cool when I was 10!) Anyway, cute design, coded for Weeks and DMC... enjoy!
Pepperberry Bunnies & Chicks for Springtime!
The Easter Lollipop Collection!
This is a delightful set of cross-stitched rabbits, bunnies and a sheep, all finished *on-a-stick* to poke into your Easter Basket, but could hang as ornaments as well. By Pepperberry Designs, they started out as painted needlepoint canvases, but they are stitched on all the bright Tropical Linens or Aida from Wichelt Imports - and they use regular, ordinary DMC floss!
Super cute, each finishes approx 4-1/2 x 5... they are all slightly different. I see metallics on these, some furry threads from Rainbow Gallery, some buttons and beads... lots of potential for cute embellishing. Choose between Tropical Blue, Green or Pink... we have 14 Aida or 28ct Linen... and the colors are CHEERFUL! Each of these is presented as it's own chart.
Bunny Lace Trio from Lindy Stitches
A chart of these three designs that feature a way to highlight all your crazy overdyed threads.
Vintage County Mocha linen... get some trim and them dig through all your beloved random threads!
This design highlights three of Classic Colorworks flosses that have multiple color variations in them -- so no DMC conversions. Cobbled Peach, Goldfish and Meadow Green are featured. Three sweet cushions for the season!
Erica Michaels is Adding Berries to her Stitched Collection
Linda has 4 new pin cushion designs - the cutest little berry shapes - stitch them teeny-weeny small on 40ct or larger on larger counts... you have choices! All are worked with hand-dyed flosses... the LINEN berries are featured on linen fabric, the SILK berries are featured on 40ct silk gauze... but you can do them on whatever you like better. This entire collection is just enchanting, and all are presented in chart format.
Blooms and Blossoms by Debbie Mumm for Mill Hill
Oh... these are bright and pretty!!! Mill Hill has commissioned 4 new designs by Debbie Mumm that have been converted to Cross Stitch with a smattering of seed beads.
Presented in their kit formats, each is stitched on 28ct linen, and finish approx 7 inches square. Bright, fresh colors... each kit comes with that fun fabric, all the threads and beads and needles. I like them all...not sure which is my favorite... frame them as shown on the kit covers, or maybe make block stand-ups???
April Showers Bring New May Flowers
from The Drawn Thread!
Cynthia Zittel has three new designs all presented in chart format with or without the necessary silk threads!
The Button & Beads from Mill Hill
These are the 5 x 5 designs that come fully kitted with perforated paper, DMC floss and tons of glass beads and a ceramic button garnish. We always do ours of Aida or Linen instead so we can make small hanging pillows out of them, but they look pretty good on that paper and framed. The beads catch the light - just makes them glisten!
The Smaller Ornament-Sized Bead Kits - The Spring Bouquet Collection from Mill Hill
Same fun things to stitch as the larger designs... you get all the threads, beads and Treasure embellishments in these. They all finish approx 3 x 3. The hamburger is easy -- stitch it for a magnet on your refrigerator! The Medallion and Mosaic Egg companion the Easter Eggs we have every year... only instead of ladybugs and flowers... these are all beaded with geometric designs. The bathtub might need a little imagination as to display -- but it's cute!
They're all fun. We have a Christmas wreath in the shop that is decorated with loads of Christmas kits. Get a fake greenery wreath, pretty Spring-colored ribbon, dig out some pastel Christmas glass bulbs, get a string of twinkle lights, plug in the hot glue gun and make a Spring and Summer Wreath!!
Happy Camper from Imaginating
Isn't this THE CUTEST little camper???? Talk about fun Tiny Houses -- wouldn't you love to stitch in this -- even if it was parked in your driveway??? You could pull it to all your stitching events during the year, and save on hotel fees! Imaginating published this leaflet and I think it is just charming.
Approx 7 x 9 on 14/28ct, all DMC floss and just plain X's... it's super busy in color and design, and just makes me smile. *Home is Where We Park It!* I'm thinking every RV in existance needs this as decor!!!
Bluebird Tweet from Just Nan
Another darling Just Nan ornament... this little Spring Guy is stitched on 32ct Little Boy Blue Belfast in just bits of DMC floss. He comes with wire legs too! *...a swirly tail, twisted wire legs and a berry in his beak. He can hang by his tail but prefers to stand on his cute little legs. We provide the wires and instructions to make the legs, plus the gold tail, beads, felt for the beak and a burgundy pearl 'berry'.*
Finishing a mere 3-1/2 x 2, remember stitching gets folded in half... so he's less than 2 x 2! He IS on our Just Nan Ornament Auto-Ship... so if you are on that program, your's will be in the mail as soon as we receive him -- which should be next week!!
Spring Greetings Bouquet from With Thy Needle & Thread
Your little bunny-in-the-basket is stitched on 32ct Weeks Beige Linen with Palomino, Woodrose, Mountain Mist, Endive, Otter Creek, Wheat Fields and Eggshell hand-dyed flosses. Butterfly is over one, French Knots for the lavender buds. See how pretty a few of our black matte Mourning Pins look poked in here? We have old Fashioned Pear-shaped Safety pins as well... Anyway, the edging is a torn strip of blue and white ticking that is TACKED on around the edges!!!
Such a cool look! The bow on there is a super-duper beeswaxed piece of thread... we have some darling waxers by Noteworthy Needle now to use for this!
The Spring Bird
from Jeannette Douglas
OHHH... the first of the 4 seasons in birds... this is stitched on 36ct Flax Linen with 10 spectacular Spring shades of different hand-dyed and solid silks! Finishing approx 3-1/2 inches square, Jeannette has packed Milanese, Cashmere, Mosaic, Smryna, Rice, Algerian Eyelet and Rice stitches in here, along with Cross Stitches. The border features sparkly glass seed beads as embellishment.
REALLY, REALLY a cute little piece... tuck this amidst a few of your spring-y colored Patterned Pretty pin cushions!!! Offered as the chart separate from the silks. We'll Auto-ship the rest of these! I don't know how long it'll take to release them... but they are going to be such a neat set!
Mill Hill Spring Bouquet 2015
The newest selection of Springtime-themed mini bead kits by Mill Hill for 2015 is here. A new pair of eggs to go with the other 4 from previous years, a new butterfly (there is a gorgeous monarch from a few seasons ago -- make the pair! and ladybug -- these all look cute as plant pokes.
Each design is presented in small bead kit format -- the 14ct perforated paper, Mill Hill glass beads and DMC floss. These come with a magnet for their backings, so find something metal in your laundry room, sunroom, pantry, office, kitchen... that needs a bit of brightening up! Each finishes approx 2-3/4 inches in size... really fun to do.
Mill Hill Spring 2015 Button & Bead Kits
This season's set of designs -- this has to be at least the 25th year for these kits -- they are always fun to see! Offered as complete kits of 14ct perforated paper with Mill Hill glass beads and tons of flosses and a ceramic button embellishment, they are an awesome value because everything is there... and they always use tons of colors of beads and thread.
Brenda Riddle Florals
We have a pair of lovely pastel florals by Brenda Riddle that are enchanting. Stitched on 32ct Cream Belfast linen in hand-dyeds by Weeks and Gentle Art or DMCs they remind me of the artwork of Cath Kidston -- an English artist that we fell in love with on this past summer's cruise to the British Isles.
Soft pinks, blues and greens, so totally dreamy for silk pillows plumped on a white bedspread in a sunny guest room. Offered as charts, each finishes approx 5 x 5.
Clover of Clovers from Bent Creek
Just like Heart of Hearts, the name tells you a lot with this piece! Offered as a kit of 18ct Natural Linen with #5 Pearl Cottons to stitch the little guy and his shamrock, he's only 50 x 50 stitches.
He'll finish 5-1/2 inches square -- don't forget to add his pot 'o gold nuggets!!!
Three Bunnies Pick
from Dames of the Needle
Isn't this cute? I LOVE the soft bunnies all lined up, with the long and loose backstitches. Stitched on Week's 30ct Baby's Breath Linen, this is precious!
Stitch count of only 50 x 50, the plant pick is a nice finishing idea to show off your stitching. Offered as a small chart.
Pretty Peas - The Sewing Case and Beaded Scissor Fob
from Fern Ridge Collections
Oh... I took a class at Market and MADE this little beaded fob!!!!!!!!!! Those Fern Ridge Gals are way too happy and have so much fun with their designs and kits... we had such a fun afternoon! Pretty Peas -- The Fob -- is a Peyote Stitch piece -- actually very basic and small in size. You see that pea vine on there -- that's tacked on after the basic beading is finished. Then, that lavish trim... just cool beads all strung together zip-zap! Their complete kit contains ALL the cool beads and charms, the threads, the findings, everything!
The matching stitched Pretty Peas Sewing Case is DARLING! Stitched on Week's 30ct Parchment linen, the complete kit is a treasure-package of hand-dyed silk ribbons and threads, and the embellishments include a little bit of wood, pea beads, Delica beads, CHARMING mother-of-pearl flower buttons, bone thread winders, and even a pea pod charm that matches the one on the fob. I love the bright colors, and I'm so proud of my little fob!
Mother Hens from FiligramWhat an awesomely contemporary and endearing scene! A trio of concerned Mama Hens are tending to their little chicks who are playing in the garden. A pretty, relaxed, loose design style, this looks young and fresh.
Charted for DMC or Gentle Art Sampler Threads, it has a stitch count of 151 x 105, so will finish approx 6-1/2 x 9-1/2 on 32ct. Very classy!
Don't miss the other two new designs, shown below.
Spring & Summer Vegetables from FiligramI love these matching seasonal garden scenes! The picket fence that surrounds everything, all the neat and tended rows, the yummy fruits and vegetables, the shovels, spades, rakes and watering cans, and those darling scarecrows -- they rule the gardens!
Very well done with lots of cute motifs that are very recognizable, the charts are printed in color. Coded for Gentle Art Sampler Threads or DMC flosses, these finish approx 6-1/2 x 9-1/2 on 32ct.
Eggs Ala Round from Glendon Place
Wow... you won't want to hide these eggs before Easter! Glendon Place has outdone herself with this colorful medley of beautifully decorated eggs! Eggs Ala Round features 16 different eggs -- all coded for 45 different DMC or Anchor flosses, 9 metallic #4 braids, and 12 colors of Mill Hill beads and even Gentle Art's Spring Grass hand-dyed floss for the greenery.
Finishing approx 13 inches round on 28ct linen, I think what makes this piece so incredible is that almost all the eggs are designed on a diagonal, which is really hard to do! So many different stripes and spots, each little egg is charming just by itself! Wouldn't they be pretty stitched (even on several different colors of linens) and finished into egg shapes, and all tucked into a basket of Easter Grass? The larger eggs all measure approx 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 while the smaller ones run a bit over 1 x 1-1/2 inches. Just pretty, pretty, pretty! Offered as a leaflet.
from SamSarah Design Studio
Oh my gosh.. this is so cute! Bunnies dashing with their carts of carrots seem to be the Springtime theme this year, and this one looks to be quite a confident driver! Harried Hare finishes approx 10 x 4 on Weeks 30ct Baby's Breath Linen. The cart of eggs is totally colorful, but what makes the whole leaflet are those STITCHED and STUFFED carrots! They are stitched on hand-dyed Weeks 28ct Scuppernong Gingham Linen. You can see the wavy green tops... that is the left-over un-stitched fabric that you have cut in a curvy shape and button-hole stitched around the edges to make it wave.
It is such a cool finishing idea -- Patti has great finishing instructions and actual stitch and fabric photos on the back page of the leaflet, so you'll totally understand what to do! (Flipping the center carrot upside down on the linen will save fabric -- but you can always purchase more than I estimate here.) So different, so *artsy-fartsy*, (spell checker doesn't like that word!), all is stitched in a medley of pretty hand-dyed cottons, you could always add embellishments if you like!
Easter Surprise Photobooth
from Bent Creek
Bent Creek has lots of new releases... this Photobooth design is only one of half a dozen! **(Click these links to see the rest; we have charts and two kits to show.)** First photo pic... the magician is going to pull a rabbit out of his hat. Second pic... ta-da... the bunny! Third pic... what's this? A pair of white ears? Pic #4... out comes a little chick dressed up like a bunny!
Very cute, this is offered as the chart and includes a cut of 32ct Belfast.
You'll need bits of thread from your stash for this quick holiday decoration!
Dog's Day Out from Crossed Wing Collection
Crossed Wing has a fun new piece available... it's a day-trip to the Dog Park! The luscious trees -- complete with a squirrel and a few birds for entertainment -- provide shade for all the darling dogs below. Actually quite large, this is stitched on Crossed Wing's exclusive hand-painted 28ct linen that is specially colored for THIS piece! It starts with gentle greens at the bottom, and changes to blue skies at the top!
Your piece WILL look like the pic, with the green behind the dogs and the blue sky! Finishing approx 11 x 22-1/2, this is stitched in DMC flosses, along with some Week's Dye Works, as well. You could always go thru your Crossed Wing stash of designs and add more birds or a dog or two to this, too! Perfect for a Vet's Office!!! Offered as the chart, with linen separately.
from Bent Creek
'There are always flowers for those who want to see them!' Spring Snapperland has arrived -- a 4-part set of small charts -- it features an optional freebie border chart that fits the 4 designs together surrounding them with that wonderful quote I just mentioned! Stitched on 32ct Twilight Blue Belfast Linen in lots of overdyed goldens, oatmeals, mosses, and browns... the Spring Snapperland set has 4 small card designs. Each includes a pack of metal snaps -- the required embellishments.
Stitch each individually... or join them together within the charming border design... it features its own embellishment set that includes some clay ladybug and bee buttons, and lots more snaps.
Little League and Little Ballerinas
from Country Cottage
Well, I have a grandson this would be perfect for... oh, if only I stitched! (No, your Weary Webmaster, writing this description in Lindy's absence, doesn't stitch... isn't that ironic?) The design has a historic flavor that reminds me of the time of the old NY Yankees... Babe Ruth and all that.
Stitched with Crescent Colours threads, it measures about 8 1/2 x 5 1/4, and comes with an alphabet so you can personalize it.
Little Ballerinas, a design for dancers and those who love them, is the same size, and also includes the alphabet. The overdyed threads used in some areas give you more dimension, don't you think?
Bellemeade from Just Nan
Just Nan's third breathtaking seasonal manor house sampler has also arrived. I would be thrilled to live at Bellemeade, Winterhaven or Silkwood Manor... but I'm not so sure I could afford the mortgage!!! Straight from Nan's creative imagination comes this exquisite study in brilliant, rich summer color, gardens full of ripe strawberries and graceful wildflowers, morning glories and ladybugs, running rabbits and a swan swimming in the pond, and stitch after special stitch!!!
A commanding piece, Bellemeade finishes approx 9-1/2 x 13 on 30ct Cameo Shell Legacy Linen. Stitched in an incredible assortment of silks and some pretty wools, the thread assortment includes enough to stitch the tiny 3 x 3 matching needle case piece, as well. (It features that pretty swan in the pond!)
Lovely borders and motifs, the verse reads While summer days are long and sweet, with blossoms ever new, I'll show to others of my time, what clever hands can do. Offered as the chart with overdyed silk, beads and gold butterfly charm; silks and linen offered separately. I just love this!!!
Seasons of the Trees from Rosewood Manor
Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter... see all the trees -- their many greens and browns -- throughout the seasons... Spring at the left... flowing into Winter at the right. Rosewood Manor's Karen Kluba has a real talent for her trees, her lacy motifs, her full, balanced, busy and intriguing designs! You can study her things over and over again, and each time, you're treated to some new little detail tucked somewhere in there! Seasons of the Trees is no different!
Offered as a leaflet, this is stitched on 28ct and measures a generous 11 x 18. Worked with regular DMC flosses... you'll use 48 of them from your stash! Her charts are huge... and best of all... in paging through the leaflet, I find 14 BONUS charts... little (and some a bit larger) take-outs from the main design that are suitable for needle books, ornaments, fobs, and mini-samplers! There is so much in here... if you like this one, check out 'And a Forest Grew' and the two Christmas Stockings -- Cranberries and Pines! Really unique, definitely worth your stitching time!
from Teresa Layman
Needlework accessories worked with Colonial and French Knots... this is a charming set that's done with the same technique her miniature knotted rugs are... but finished into a special set of stitching cases!!! A pastel garden of flowers surrounds this busy beehive... and I love that yellow and butterscotch checkered border that sets it all off!!! Three coordinating pieces, each of the stitched pieces is offered stamped onto the heavy ground muslin.
Complete instructions are provided for 'knotting' and finishing everything... but I'm guessing this is for a bit of an advanced stitcher and seamstress -- (I can knot, but I can't sew, so I'll send mine out for finishing!!!) The stitched areas feature knots done in one stand of floss, to create a soft looks that reminds you of miniature punch needle! Your scissor case will finish approx 2-1/4 x 3-1/2, Needlebook will measure approx 2 x 2-1/2, and the fob is a 1-1/4 x 1/2 inch oval.
Included in the package are the patterns stamped on the fabric, needles, acid-free boards for forms, ivory flannel for needlebook pages, lobster claw clasp for the fob, and instructions for everything! Absolutely exquisite... this will DEFINITELY become a treasured heirloom!!!
