Where Love Resides Lila's Studio has a gorgeous new design that needs to hang at YOUR home! Measuring 140 stitches square, it'll finish a petite 7 x 7 on 40ct, about 8 x 8 on 36... just not very big at all. The border is made of various Quaker motifs and they surround that pretty little house in the center. *'Home is where Love resides'*... just about says it all! Coded for 14 shades of DMC... I love how bold and organized it is! It'd make a really nice wedding or housewarming gift.
Bee Your Best Self A pair of pin cushion designs by Lila's Studio - each chart contains two designs. Stitched on any neutral fabric (even a little more golden like Bees Knees by Seraphim), these are worked in regular DMC floss. They all measure between 50, 60 and 70 stitches, so if you choose 40ct - about 3 inches in size. Lots of opportunity to use some of your pretty trims from the stash, they'll make any bee-lover happy!
Autumn Is As Joyful A beautiful new seasonal Quaker-inspired sampler by Lila's Studio - this joins her Summer and Spring pieces - which are both stunning. She scatters lots of lacy Quaker motifs into her 'outside' area, and then features a detailed seasonal design in the center area. This one hides a turkey, moose, deer, owls, even a witch hat in there... all tucked between those motifs and alphabet letters. You don't see everything right away, and that's part of the charm of these. Then, once you are paying attention, you are treated to the design in the center - which is over one thread. SO SO pretty! This one measures 270 x 215, so finishes about 12 c 15 on 36ct. Coded for regular 'ol DMC floss... this celebrates the beauty that Autumn offers every year!
New Designs Summer Quakers - Love this! A charming seaside village perched beside the busy sea! There is a ship arriving, and we are treated to all the 'busy-ness' below the water's surface! Next, all is surrounded by glorious Quaker-inspired sampler motifs - making an elegant and involved border. Notice the crabs and lobster in it? Measures 267 x 216 - so it finishes approx 15 x 12 on 36ct. Hand-dyed fabric in the picture is Fibre On A Whim's Latte - which is a gret neutral color. Coded for DMC. The Lord's Prayer - The favorite prayer quietly stitched in DMC on a neutral background. This measures 238 x 296 - so about 13 x 16 on 36ct. Mary Jane's Motifs - This is a set of pin cushions done from motifs taken from a larger antique sampler. Super classic urn and floral designs... you can change colors if need be - these aren't too involved, so that isn't hard. They are just classic, simple rpetty designs that caught my eye!
Spring Quaker and Nevermore Lila's Studio has two new designs... both are full, full, full of busy-ness and are tremendously eyecatching! Spring Quaker reminds that 'No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow.' Pretty Quaker motifs all around, that commanding alphabet, the sweet rabbits down at the bottom, and the pretty village scene in the center, the whole thing is very colorful, happy and pretty. Charted for DMC and Classic Colorworks hand-dyeds, on 36ct, this will finish a generous 12 x 15! This will NOT get lost on the wall! Nevermore is inspired by the narrative poem 'The Raven' by Edgar Allan Poe. Coded for hand-dyeds, the dark colors against the slightly mangy light background with touches of the golden moon colors, make it so striking. Finishing approx 8 x 12 on 40ct... I just love those intricate zig-zag borders!
With Love and Miss B's Apiary Lila's Studio has two new releases to tempt your stitching fingers! Miss B's Apiary features a beekeeper in her garden. Pretty floral border surrounding everything, her bees look peaceful, under control and quiet! Measures 8 x 9 on 40ct. With Love - Let all that you do be done with love. The rose motif in this was taken from an 1853 antique sampler... I just love that. Finishes approx 4 x 6 on 40ct, this is coded for DMC.
Let Freedom Ring This is a beautiful piece that will finish an impressive 15 x 19 on 32ct. Released in 2017... we've had it, but I didn't pay attention to it until recently. Just lovely, Independence Hall is so pretty with the trees in the background. All the windows, the arches, the hand-dyed threads making the bricks look real... the billowing flag and cracked Liberty Bell... this piece makes quite a statement! 25 Shades of DMC along with 6 hand-dyeds... the building is Classic Colorworks Calico Kitty, and the trees are Endive, both of which require 4 skeins of thread. Lila has done an excellent job with the chart - it's huge, full of contrast and has symbols next to each other that are EASY to tell apart. Just whip this right up - it'd look great in the Family room or an office!
Seasons Blessings Just a pair of 3 x 3 designs (stitched over 2 on 40ct.) Coded for hand-dyeds or DMC, very simple but cute. Winter is on Picture This Plus's Oaken, while Fall is on Cyprium - which has a bit more yellow in it than PTP's Gingerbread color. This is presented in chart format.
Anna Ohman 1873 By Lila's Studio, this is an adaptation of an antique sampler found at an estate sale in Illinois... probably stitched in Sweden. Lila had to fix the top band, and chose Classic Colorworks Used Brick (3 skeins) for her piece which features an eagle adorned with maple leaves and surrounded with an oak leaf border. Just beautiful, it measures 158 x 156 in stitch count. Presented as a chart.
A Quaker Welcome A very striking piece inspired by Quaker motifs and the Roman Alphabet style it loved. This finishes about 8-1/2 x 11-1/2 on 40ct linen, and is stitched with both DMC and hand-dyed threads. I like the motifs interrupted by the houses, actually that whole top area is really neat. She's charted 'a token of love' to stitch into the cartouche if you'd like.
Holiday Quaker Well, just like her companioning Halloween Quakers chart... we aren't even sure The Quakers CELEBRATED Christmas... but we think they should have! Lila's studio has another awesome sampler full of fun motifs. There are snowmen inside one motif, mittens in another. Santa's boots are down there too. Stitched on a mangy Dapple Gray PTP fabric (or anything you want!), this is coded for Gentle Art Sampler threads or DMC, and it finishes approx 13 x 9.
Halloween Quaker WOW, is this a cool piece!!!!! By Lila's Studio, this is stitched on Picture This Plus's Murky Linen -- it's a dark, drab but dramatic muddy grey-brown fabric! (Simply delicious, as it's name does not suggest!) Halloween Quaker measures a generous 261 x 180, so it finishes approx 16 x 11 on 32ct. Stitched with Classic Colorworks hand-dyed flosses, this has several cool elements to it. The Quaker-inspired motifs are fun, especially the unusual spiders in one, and the black cats in another. That little village at the bottom is cool, the witch legs and boots are colorful, but your eye really goes to that silouette right in the center! Beautiful colors of thread against that fabric, chart calls for 40ct... we can order that for you... 32 is a little less scary to see!
Needle #1 and #2 This is an interesting pair of designs. #1 (shown at the top of our image at right) was released in 2012, #2 in 2019. They are basically the SAME piece... only #2 is her Re-Do! with additions. The verse is a quote from John Taylor in 1634 talking about all the flora and fauna... and how the needle can shape and wrought it all. The borders on each are charming and colorful... and the three or four little scenes in the boxes above the verses are delightful! I honestly don't know which version I like better! #1 Is smaller - measures 20 x 9 on 32ct, and is coded for 24 DMC flosses. With The Needle #2 is larger - it finishes 11-1/2 x 26-1/2 on 32ct. It is coded for 8 DMC colors and 21 Classic Colorworks hand-dyeds - with no DMC conversions. Even if you don't stitch the entire sampler or samplers... those little square scenes would make fun pin cushions!
