Nan's 2024 Christmas Mouse Ornament is Here! Nan's new ornament... there are three mice in this! One gold mouse bead is easy to see in the center, but two tiny white mice with red scarves are hidden in the design. Christmas flowers, holiday greenery and flowing bows in the border are all stitched with DMC shades of red, white and green - and accented with bits of gold metallic. Included, for more sparkle, are 4 sew-on garnet-red stones. Stitched on 32ct Natural linen, the chart comes with the gold mouse bead, the 4 red stones, and gold hanging ring. You supply the bit of 32ct, and the DMC from your stash. (Corner embellishments are simply straight pins with pearl tops Nan added from her stash.)
Presenting Just Nan's Merlin the Midnight Owl! Due in the Shop October 9th, Nan has a darling new little owl ornament pattern. She describes Merlin opening his starry eyes at midnight, under a silvery moon. Her newest little guy has a flat seamed bottom with wire feet to help him perch on any flat surface. Worked on 32ct Weeks Tin Roof Linen (stitching is full coverage, so linen will not show) with a combination of DMC and Weeks flosses, there is a bit of silver metallic in here as well. Eyes are sequins with beads, and there is an owl medallion charm on his back. His hat is a tiny purple crystal with silver sequin brim. His chart includes chart, instructions for stitching and finishing, multiple beads and sequins, owl head charmbead, and wire for feet. You'll need a bit of stuffing and a pin to attach his hat. Cute as can be... Nan has Merlin shown on a felt pumpkin she's had in her holiday decorations for years. It does not come with the pattern, so we suggest perching this little guy on those tiny real pumpkins! (Actually we think those small white ones are pretty cool for this.) Magical, a new band sampler and coordinating Pin Cube! Our Shipment Arrived! We have 12 copies left! :) Nan is currently working on a new band sampler and pin cube set which will be called Magical. It is her first band sampler in 10 years. Sampler measures 8 1/2 H X 5 inches W on 32 CT Zweigart Antique White Linen. She is stitching it with DMC floss in shades of pink, blue, lavender and green with an original verse and 6 diagrammed specialty stitches. Mingled in with rows of garden flowers are bluebirds, bees, butterflies, ladybugs and, since this is a magical garden, you will also find 2 lavender mice, a blue spider and a pink hedgehog! There will be lots of treasure! Unique embellishments include a painted gold flower spray, gold lined crystals, tiny gold flower beads, 3 colors of seed beads and white pearls. A tiny pin cube measuring 1 1/4 inch square matches the sampler with flowers on 5 sides and the spider and mice on the bottom. Cube design is 5 1/2 H X 4 inches W on the same linen. The cube perches on 4 fancy flower feet which the stitcher will pin in place with straight pins. The crowning touch is a Magic Flower Pin to be assembled by the stitcher and inserted in the top of the cube. The kit includes Pretty Pin Parts and instructions. Magical will include a color cover, 12-page Stitch Guide, all the embellishments including the flower feet for the cube, plus Pretty Pin Parts. Presenting Madame Butterfly Mouse on a Tin Nan's last little mouse perched on her tin house will be here by the end of April! Madame is ready for the sunny flower-filled days of summer. She is wearing a gown of gorgeous butterflies and pretty pink rose stitches accented with sky blue and golden bronze beads. Her blue flower hat is pinned in place with three blue beads, so she's ready for a sudden gust of wind! Her tin perch is decorated with rings of blue and bronze butterflies set against a dramatic black background, and Nan has added blue scalloped trim along the edge. Inside Madame's tiny tin, you'll be able to tuck your tiny frayed-edge needlebook. It is decorated with butterfly stitches, an antique brass butterfly charm, and sparkling blue crystal. Both the mouse and book are stitched on Week's Dye Work's 32ct Linen color of hand-dyed linen using DMC floss from your stash. Included with the leaflet are all the stitching and finishing instructions, beads, flower hat, butterfly charm, needlebook felt, decorated metal tin, gold tail and Nan's signature button base with magnet. All you'll need is a tiny bit of fusible interfacing for the book and mouse. Too darn cute, Madame Butterfly is the final Mouse on a Tin. Just Nan has announced her Rose Heart Bunny Little Rose Heart Bunny will be on her way to us an a few weeks.... she is Nan's final little 1 x 1-1/2 inch mouse design. She has soft pink felt ears and a furry pom-pom tail... and she'll be precious as an ornament, pin keep, spool topper, ornament - anything you want! Stitched on 32ct white linen with shades of pink and green DMC, she is embellished with rose beads, along with her ears and tail. She is also wearing a tiny Rose Quartz heart HAT that is held in place with a tiny pearl pin. All of Nan's previous little bunnies are now retired, and Rose Heart is the last in the series. Her chart includes the pic, graph, instructions for stitching and assembly, overdyed wool for the ears, pom-pom tail, beads and pin. You'll need a tiny bit of batting to line/stuff her.
Introducing Just Nan's Christmas Eve Mouse Just Nan has announced her 2023 Christmas Mouse - Eve. The Candles are lit, the garlands are hung, presents are wrapped and the clock is ticking down to midnight. Eve is waiting for Christmas Day to begin. Stitched with DMC and touches of gold metallic on weeks 32ct Mocha hand-dyed linen, she is wearing a red flower hat decorated with a striped bead. A gold bow bead holds the bead garlands in place - and notice her festive green tail! This is Nan's final Gingerbread Christmas Mouse... so Eve finishes this delightful set of charming mice. The kit includes color cover, graph and instructions for stitching and finishing, along with the green tail, button base, beads, red glass flower and gold bow bead. A sweet ornament for your tree! Christmas Snowfall Biscornu - A 3-1/4 inch biscornu cushion, stitched on both sides, this is covered with Nan's pretty lacy snowflakes, red flowers, greenery and flowing ribbons. Just Announced from Just Nan! Presenting Owlvira's Frightful House The Ghosts and Goblins at Scream House have new neighbors! Owlvira has moved in next door! Frightful House stands deep in the gloomy shadows of Haunted Hollow. When the leaves begin to fall, the house wakes up, and all the inhabitants take their places to show us how scary they can be. Owlvira Owl is the house manager. She has a room in the attic where she plans all the entertainment for each frightful night. The Stitch Guide includes behind the scene stories for each side of the house. Fences with garlands of purple lights surround the house, and the front door has a spider knocker. Ghosts, grimacing pumpkins, frogs, bats, spiders, skeletons, monsters and one menacing mummy appear on the 4 sides of the house, and you will find more creatures on the roof and in the creepy crawl space below. Owlvira's attic room features a spider web rug and black felt walls for needles and pins (and a little frog charm). Presenting Just Nan's The Mouse-on-a-Tin (MOAT) Series from Just Nan These are the first of Nan's new little Magnetic Mice on Mini-Tins. Representing Nan's favorite Garden Visitors, we will be getting a Bee, Butterfly and Ladybug in the set as well. Mr Plumed Peacock is all decked out in peacock feathers stitched with vibrant DMC shades of blue, green, aqua and royal purple - Nan has added bits of gold metallic too. Decorated with teal and gold hex beads his topknot is a frosted glass flower bead. All mice in this series will be magnetized so they cling to their little tins securely - to keep watch over that tiny needlebook inside. Tins measure 2 inches in diameter, top is decorated with peacock feather artwork and sides with scalloped trim. The 1-1/4 inch needlebook that fits inside the tin is stitched on the same Weeks Dye Works 32ct Linen (colored) linen and finishes a mere 1-1/4 inch! Nan's Newest Designs are Here! 15 Tiny Gardens - Introducing Nan's newest 15-sided biscornu to remind us of our Spring Gardens all year long. Each of the 15 tiny garden scenes is different and showcases buds and blossoms worked in soft shades of pink and lavendar. Moving among the pretty petals and leaves are some of Nan's favorite garden visitors - ladybugs, bees, bunnies, butterflies, garden mice and lots of dragonflies. There is a lot to see, and all the tiny details are a delight to stitch. Stitched on both 32ct Antique White and Baby Pink Belfast linens, each piece is lavishly embellished with cream pearls and soft pink beads. The finished biscornu cushion is centered on both sides with a pink crystal coin bead, decorated at the corners with 10 Swarovski pink pearls and trimmed with more gold embossed beads. Pansy Rose Cube Pansy Rose Cube is Nan's perch for Pansy bunny - or any of her other delightful bunnies and mice! Each of the 5 sides features delicate pansies and pearl-centered satin flowers - every side is different, but they are all part of the same garden. Bunnies are peeking out the grasses on the 6th-side - the bottom! Stitched on 32ct Lilac Linen with DMC floss, the chart comes with all the necessary beads and pearls, Nan suggests Dritz glass headed pins from the craft store for those edge treatments. Stitched on 32ct Baby Pink Belfast Linen, an has used some regular floss, #8 pearl Cotton B5200, Weeks hand-dyed floss of Sweetheart Rose, and a little Kreinik #4 Braid 3202. Included with the chart are 4 colors of beads and a Swarovski pink pearl that glows in the center. 5 Special stitch diagrams included... Queen's Snowflake finishes 6 x 6. Presenting Nan's 2020 Gingerbread Candy Mouse and Christmas Nest Ornaments Gingerbread Candy Mouse is very fond of holiday sweets, especially candy canes and peppermints. Her dress is decorated with striped candy in all shapes and sizes with a few green candy sticks mixed in for holiday color. She holds a candy cane charm and wears a hat made from red and white striped beads with a green bugle bead in the center. She is shown on Nan's 2014 release, featuring The Angel Mouse - scroll down just a bit - Gingerbread Garden Cube, a favorite perching place of hers - because they match! The Owls of October II When the night turns black and the moon shines yellow... Here come 4 intense owls from Just Nan, each coordinating, but stitched with different colors on their bodies and wings, and wild eyes! Presenting Heather's Hedgehog House - A Limited Edition to the Mouse-On-A-Roll Series from Just Nan Nan's newest release is due in the shop the first week of June! Heather Hedgehog lives in a cozy little A Frame house deep in the hedges of a country garden. Outside, the walls are covered with branches, vines, roses, wildflowers and berries. Two violet-painted windows help Heather check for visitors like her good friend Little Hedgie. Inside her home, houndstooth wool keeps her nice and warm. She's even flying her personal hedgehog flag from her roof! Use DMC and 2 shades of Weeks flosses - Seaweed and Plum - to stitch the house as one piece on weeks 32ct Lilac Linen. Add the matte rose beads for berries. Line the house piece with wool and fold it into the cute a-frame house with the sides joined at the roof line. The house measures just 2 x 2-1/4 and is actually big enough for 2 hedgehogs (which Nan promises do not need to worry about social distancing!). Heather is stitched on 32ct Platinum linen with DMC. Pink Ice Cube OHhhh... here's a limited edition Market Exclusive that sold out two years ago... and is being RE-RELEASED for a short time! We seem to remember it being stitched on Raw Opalescent 32ct... I know it is coming as one of Nan's small charts with needed embellishments. It matches all the rest of her charming little pin cubes... and we are thrilled to be able to have the pattern again!
Sugarplum Fairy Mouse & Embellishments Limited Edition Expected in around the middle of November, this year's Gingerbread Mouse comes straight from the Nutcracker ballet on tiny gold wings. Sugarplum Fairy Mouse wears a pretty hearts and flowers costume embellished with white pearl and gold crystal beads plus touches of Moonstone #4 Braid. Presenting Frosty Chillingsworth Mouse... and his little Frosty Snow Cube Nan's newest Winter Mouse is due in the shop January 24th! Frosty Chillingsworth Mouse -- the dapper fellow he is -- will lift your spirits this winter! Stitched on 32ct White Belfast linen with DMC flosses and a hint of opalescent metallic, he has a half-carrot nose and wears a black top hat and sporty red and black plaid scarf. His winter sweater features beaded snowflakes and a fir tree with tiny cardinals stitched over one on the back. (We're talking a very teeny-weeny sweater here, so don't stress about those over-one stitches -- there aren't many of them!) White tipped pins serve as his stick arms with mittens, and his hat has caught a snowflake. Included are 2 colors of beads, silver tail, Nan's signature mouse-button-base, snowflake sequin and pin arms. (Nan says you can change the color of those mittens with a marker!) Gingerbread Mouse Reindeer Stocking Nan's second little stocking design is here. Featured inside is Gingerbread Reindeer Mouse - but actually any of her little mice (all available separately from the stocking) will fit in here! Just 2-1/2 inches tall, this little stocking features a festive reindeer with beaded antlers, a tiny decorated fir tree and a bitty mouse on Rudolph's back watching a lacy snowflake fall. Wild Eyed Jacks Nothing but Jacks on this fun little humbug-shaped ornament! Center stage are the Wild Eyes -- one on each side. They are surrounded by smaller pumpkins and white Jacks with funny carved faces. The humbug hangs from a spiral hanger tied up with green and black striped ribbon. The wild eyes are a combination of metallic sequins, gold flower beads and black seed beads. Seasonal Trees A tree of Valentines! Nan has designed a small 3-1/2 x 5 Springtime Tree that is full of 15 different stitched hearts. Coded for DMC, it does call for Evergreen Sampler Thread -- see it in the Satin Stitch heart greenery? Your tiny tree is garnished with a smattering of white and pink pearls, a crystal heart bead and a pretty antiqued silver filagree heart token. Just a pretty little thing, I can see stitching just the 'leaf part' and making it into a round pin cushion! I know there are three other trees coming for the seasons - Nan told me the Fall one is all little jack-o-lantern faces!!! The Just Nan Stocking Collection I just want to highlight -- in one place on our site -- Nan's lovely collection of Christmas Stockings. Each have been annual releases, and cover 8 years! Timeless designs, each is prettier than the last. Lots of horizontal bands, pretty stitches, beads and crystals, you'll notice that the top bands do not feature names. If you like, you can add that to the top of each... but I like that small tag that can hang off the side... a really classy way to announce the owner! The Angel Stocking features a center area that will fit ANY of Nan's 15 Annual Angels... so you have LOTS of choices for this one! (You could stitch the whole family angels, using the same main stocking design. This leaflet includes one angel design.) Little Victor -- Nan's first grandson -- arrived almost 5 years ago, and his stocking does differ from the rest. He has that darling teddy bear, and lots of tiny motifs from Nan's other Christmas designs! More color for Victor -- he IS kind of a bold little personality -- so he deserves to be different from the rest! Ghoulies & Ghosties Shipping to us the 4th week of August, we expect a great new release of Nan's Halloween and Christmas designs! Ghoulies and Ghosties is a colorful piece... kind of a spindly 'tree' of Halloween silliness... it's full of bright oranges, yellows, slime green, black, white and purple. All of Nan's favorite creatures are in this one, the little swirly ghosts, the HUGE spider, the funky witch, it's just darling. We're planning on finishing our shop model into a Tall Triangle Stand-up, with a big, lavish topper. Ghoulies and Ghosties looks to finish approx 5 x 9, and is stitched on 28ct Country French Cappuccino Linen in DMC's or an awesome selection of silks!
Christmas Ribbons Nan's 2007 Christmas Band Sampler, is stitched in Weeks overdyed flosses, bits of #4 metallic Braid, and #8 Pearl Cottons. The satin-y flowers, the lacy trees, all is garnished with lots of tiny gold beads. I don't know the design size yet, or any stitch details... so all we have at the moment is this tiny teaser pic! Bellemeade Just Nan's third breathtaking seasonal manor house sampler has also arrived. I would be thrilled to live at Bellemeade, Winterhaven or Silkwood Manor... but I'm not so sure I could afford the mortgage!!! Straight from Nan's creative imagination comes this exquisite study in brilliant, rich summer color, gardens full of ripe strawberries and graceful wildflowers, morning glories and ladybugs, running rabbits and a swan swimming in the pond, and stitch after special stitch!!! A commanding piece, Bellemeade finishes approx 9-1/2 x 13. Stitched in an incredible assortment of silks and some pretty wools, the thread assortment includes enough to stitch the tiny 3 x 3 matching needle case piece, as well. (It features that pretty swan in the pond!) Lovely borders and motifs, the verse reads While summer days are long and sweet, with blossoms ever new, I'll show to others of my time, what clever hands can do. Making Friends Just like Frightful... this is a tiny collection of tiny pieces... they go together... but individually... they fit perfectly into their own little Just Nan Whimzi Frames!!! Are you watching that little snowman making another??? Each square of the main design tells a part of the Making Friends story! Garnished with a central snowflake embellishment, it's a challenge to see where the stitches stop and the embellishment begins!
Winterhaven Nan's second limited edition mansion sampler is here!!! After months of waiting, this is just such a treat to hold! A beautiful lacy, beaded border surrounds bands of special stitches and tiny animal details. Stitched on 28ct Flax Cashel Linen in scrumptious colors of mauve, blue, taupe, greens... the silk package offered is too pretty to open and use! Finishing approx 13 x 9, there are several different types of silks, Accentuate brand metallics and a bit of Londonderry linen thread used, but there are options for DMC floss as well, if you prefer. Embellishments include seed beads and a 1-inch square lacy metal frame charm that is featured above the mansion. Check out the pic of the coordinating scissor slide! Baby Garden Nan and John became grandparents on August 6th of last year, and this darling sampler commemorates little Victor! Oh gosh, his baby garden features his cradle, room for his name, a clock for his time of birth, and tons of little critters! Stitched on 28ct Natural linen, using 8 different stitches, you'll find all sorts of treasures tucked into this! Victor has a fish pond, lots of flowers and trees, bunnies (the featured embellishment is a hand-painted bunny Charmbead), assorted bugs, frogs, birds and a nest, squirrels, kitties (Grandma's favorite animals), a turtle, spider and even a little lizard!!! What a lucky kid!!! Baby Garden finishes approx 10 x 5, and is full of Just Nan detail and elegance! Witch Way Nan's Halloween piece for 2003 is here, along with several other new designs! Darling, darling, Witch Way is full of bright oranges, copper, yellows, golds, slime-lime greens, purple, deep blue and of course, black! Stitched in either silk or DMC flosses, and finishing approx 6 x 6 on 28ct, there are a few special stitches included in the witch's broom and hair for added texture and interest -- although there is plenty going on to delight the eye!
The little witch is casting a spell into her cauldron, the ghosts are holding Jack 'O Lanterns, and check out the teeny toads in there! The center embellishment is a 1/2-inch pewter witch charm that has been painted with a lime green face, purple cape, black dress and orange broom... and no, it doesn't look at all like Nan!!! Ice Blossom Such a delicate and lacy snowflake... this glistens with silver crystal beads, white pearls, and some fire-polished Swarovski crystal beads! Stitched on 28ct Smokey Pearl Cashel Linen -- a dusky denim blue -- this is a study in monochromatic elegance! Finishing approx 7 x 7, it's stitched in luscious silks for an elegant presentation, and features Frosty Lavender Waterlilies and opalescent metallic filament. Seven different stitches, along with the beads and crystals, there is lots of texture and interest here! Hang it where a light will catch it! I don't know if that's what the kitty at the garden gate is thinking about those birds he's watching... but I certainly have high hopes when I plant things in my garden! A beautiful garden scene, complete with the fence, birdhouse, beehive, and even a painted birdbath charm embellishment, this is stuffed with teeny floral details!
