Announcing Quiting A-Bee-Cs This is a charming 5-part sampler covering alphabets and quilt motifs. Lots of options for smalls to take out of the larger design, Linda is releasing this is 5 parts - one chart a month - March 2023 to November 2023. Worked with Classic Colorworks hand-dyed flosses, it measures 263 x 223 - so will finish approx 14-1/2 x 12-1/2 on 36ct. Each square is 39 x 39, but each tiny quilt motif in it is just 24 stitches! Itty bitty! Linda promises indvidual finishes for pin pillows, spool bands, cubes, ornaments... all sorts of fun stuff. (I can see a drum with tiny quilt motifs all around.) Although there is a floss list, she also suggests that if you clean out your hand-dyed stash and use different dye lots of threads - it kind of mimics an old quilt - which is pretty cool and definitely OK! Thread list: 1 each of Black Coffee, Blackbird, Dublin Bay, Hazelnut, Holly Berry, Little Sprout, Magnolia Blossom, Mistletoe, Old Blue Jeans, Queen Bee, Tea and Bisquits, 2 of Trail Dust, 3 of Wavy Navy and Wild Berries. Our Auto-ship will end with Chart 5. Let us know fabric count and color choice (she uses a vanilla/cream/hand-dyed) and add any threads you need... we can ship those with your first chart.

Erica Michaels Suggests that Christmas is Coming!

The Beatitudes This has been presented in a 3-chart set - and all three parts are now here. The cover model is shown stitched on 40ct silk gauze - so basically 40ct over one. The entire piece measures 229 x 212 - so about 14 inches square on 32ct linen. Stitch each panel individually and finish them in a number of different ways, or make this entire piece - which is stunning! Lots of options with this one.
Defining Summer & Autumn Two more seasons, Linda 'defines' the season with all sorts of words to remind. She has a fun mono-chromatic background on these, and those bright colorblock letters to spell the season. Besides the framed options, she has used those blocks to make long, skinny pin cushions as well!
Fall for Autumn This is a cheerful little piece! Don't the leaves blowing against the swirly background look like they're going to fly right off the design? A cut of 40ct silk gauze is included in this pack, and will make the finished piece just 2-1/2 x 3. If you work it on linen, Linda suggests a light neutral to keep the tonal contrast of the background. Time to get out all the yummy fall colors of your threads!!!
Erica Michaels has three new Petites designs... all are offered in chart format, and include a bitty cut of silk gauze - for super-gorgeous, petite results! Of course, Aida and linen work well too... so you decide what works best for you.
| |
Erica Michaels is Adding Berries to her Stitched Collection Linda has 4 new pin cushion designs - the cutest little berry shapes - stitch them teeny-weeny small on 40ct or larger on larger counts... you have choices! All are worked with hand-dyed flosses... the LINEN berries are featured on linen fabric, the SILK berries are featured on 40ct silk gauze... but you can do them on whatever you like better. This entire collection is just enchanting, and all are presented in chart format.

Caroling Berries Linda has completed her set of pin cushion designs - 8 berries with 8 rectangular versions! OK... lots of details here. Themed for Christmas Carols, there are 8 charts released from July to November of 2018. Each chart contains a Carol Berry design to FINISH as a berry, AND a squared-off version of that design for a rectangular cushion in case you don't want to do the berry shape. Choose any fabric you like - this entire series will be monochromatic - so you can see in the pic that choosing a pretty hand-dyed thread is perfect for these. Adeste Fideles (O Come All Ye Faithful) and O Tannenbaum are available now. Future Carol Berries will be: Angels We Have Heard on High, Deck the Halls, Silent Night, Jingle Bells, We Three Kings and Joy to the World. (We have lots of coordinating Weeks threads and Lady Dot trims; Linda mentions that a fat quarter of fabric will be fine to stitch all of your berries or rectangles. Maybe get the first two charts and THEN decide on your fabric/thread/bead/wool/trim colors. Super classy little things!!!
Defining Winter Stitch the word play piece on the included 40ct silk gauze cut, or make the Winter pin cushion pictured on the back of the chart... both are colorful and bright. Weeks Dye Works flosses featured, the pin cushion has some yummy Lady Dot chenille trim as well. Pack has both designs and a gauze cut.
Introducing... Very Berry! Linda Stolz of Erica Michaels has designed an EXQUISITE wool strawberry... stitched on 30ct silk gauze!!! Designed to be a scissor fob or tiny pin cushion this little 2-1/2 x 1-3/4 confection is *way too pretty* to eat... and I'd never stick pins in mine!!! Here are all the details! Stitched in Continental Stitch (just the first half of a Cross Stitch), your berry calls for 5 different shades of Gentle Art's hand-dyed Simply Wool -- you'll be stitching with one ply of thread. The stitched berries that wrap around the piece are little checkerboards of Mulberry and Buckeye Scarlet, the blossoms have hints of golden Brandy in them, and the leaves are a deep Blue Spruce, all against a Roasted Marshmallow background! A miniature strawberry patch on your Very Berry! Next, the berry top features matching Weeks Dye Works hand-dyed wool leaves!!! Charted for regular stitching, you could do this on linen... but our exclusive kit contains 30ct silk gauze instead! (Bigger holes than linen -- NO KIDDING!) When you are finished with the stitching, the long side is joined into a cone-shape, and the top is drawn/gathered together, with tiny wool leaves attached to the top! Just darling!!! Offered as the complete kit, we have included the chart, gauze, 8 complete skeins of Gentle Art's Simply Wool, Weeks Dye Works wool, and your needle. Complete assembly instructions are included, along with stitching tips for the gauze! I'm holding the precious little berry in my hands in some of our pics... you can see how petite it is, and how very special and unique! *Thank You, Linda* for designing something so awesome... just for The Silver Needle!
Grace & Blessings I Linda is highlighting three prayers for the Thanksgiving table. "Bless Us O Lord" is shown on silk gauze -- which is included in the chartpack. The other two are shown on linen -- Linda says they are classic and clean designs focusing on the text with simple borders for ornament. Multiple fabrics will work for these... we think they are lovely!
Peace and Victory & Peace Erica Michaels has two new designs shown here on 40ct. If that's too small -- choose anything YOU like to work on! Presented in her 'Petites Collection,' each chart comes with a cut of 40ct silk gauze for over-one stitching. Coded for DMC or hand-dyeds, PEACE finishes approx 3-1/2 x 1-1/2. VICTORY & PEACE finishes about 3 x 3. If you work on something larger, like 14/28 or 32, they'll finish about 10 x 4, and 9 x 9. Lovely designs... the sentiments need no more words!
Consider the Lilies This is a full-sized chart that offers inspiration with different design and finishing options. Gauze (there is a small cut included in the chart) or linen, cushion or framed, you have three different design choices in this chart. Coded for DMC or hand-dyeds.
More Gorgeous Berries Linda Stolz has a stunning collection of stitched strawberry-shaped pin cushions you could actually poke pins into (Yikes!) or maybe hang on your Christmas tree! Berries for all the seasons, some samplers, some bees, some sea-shory with mermaids... she has a two different berries for each theme. Multiple stitch options for them... choose 40ct silk gauze or linen, or larger 28 or 32 linens. (Just because one is CALLED the *Silk* option -- it doesn't mean you HAVE to stitch that one on silk! And vise/versa.. the *Linen* charts CAN be done on 40ct linen or gauze!) The smaller versions (approx 1 x 2) in the pics are the silk (40ct) options, the larger (approx 3 x 4) are the linen pieces. Designs for each ARE DIFFERENT... study the pics a little, you can see that. *Silk* berry charts come with cut of 40ct silk gauze; *Linen* berries do not include linen. Hold on for SIX MORE yummy berries... all are here... ENJOY these low-calorie options!
| |
Mermaid Kisses *Mermaid Wishes and Starfish Kisses!* You'll need only Weeks Sandcastle hand-dyed floss and DMC 3810 to work this bitty 2-inch square. I really want to buy a beach house so I have place for this! I envy all of you who live near the water!!!
Jingle and Ebenezer Berries Erica Michaels continues her set of stitched berry cushions and ornaments. We have a trunk show in the shop till January that has ALL 40 BERRIES IN HER COLLECTION all stitched and in one place. Oh My Gosh... they are such a delight to see! Actually the same finishing concepts as Just Nan's mice, these are stitched flat and then you roll them. Picture a waffle cookie ice cream cone -- same shape, same assembly! Linda's berries come in either silk gauze or linen options. Even though each theme companions -- every berry is totally different from the other 39. Linen versions are chart only. Silk versions include a cut of 40ct silk gauze.
| |
Fall Bounty Berries Linda has sent a pair of designs to make more of her enchanting strawberry pin cushions. These join her Brrr Snowman, Adam & Eve, Holly, Honey Bee, Mermaid, Nativity, Quaker, Sampler, Valentine Sweet berry, and Halloween Yikesberry! charted sets. One of these - The Linen Berry (no longer available... sorry!) is charted for 28ct Straw hand-dyed Gingham Linen and finishes about 5 inches in size. The other - The Silk Berry is actually a slightly different design that is charted for and stitched on 40ct silk gauze -- it finishes a mere 2 inches in size! Both are full of luscious Weeks flosses of Amber, Brick, Bright Leaf, Chestnut, Chrysanthemum, Collards, Flatfish, Grape Vine, Havana, Mascara, Straw and Putty. I think they are just the coolest things!!!!
New Arrivals WOW... the last of the 12 Berries series, a darling mermaid and some new stitching smalls!
| |
By The Sea from Erica Michaels Erica Michaels has seven new things -- BERRIES and MORE BERRIES, this darling sewing set, a few more Petite Gauze samplers and a Reproduction piece!! Everything is described on our inside EM pages... but I LOVE this seaside one, so thought I'd chat about it!!! Stitch the By The Sea sewing set on 32ct Petit Point Natural linen. The 5 x 7 sewing case outside features a row of cute beach cabanas, the inside features the lyrics of *By the Sea*, along with a bit of aqua wool for your needles. Next is the 3-inch-ish Strawberry pin cushion, with a sand dollar wool topping. Same 32ct linen, the design is charming all around -- a little mermaid, sand castle and sunshine, pelicans crabs, waves and a little fish. Linda has photos in here of her finishing, and an EXCELLENT picture of the top of this berry. You embroider a sand dollar on there! Finally, there is a Mermaid pocket watch locket! PRECIOUS! It is stitched on the included 40ct silk gauze, and fits into a 1-1/2 inch pocket watch frame. Absolutely the cutest thing EVER! Package includes charts for all three projects, finishing pics and instructions for all three and silk for the locket. Locket Frame, Polka Dot and solid Linen, Deep Sea and Snow Cream wool schnigglets, and set of seaside JABCO pins are available separately. (I didn't quote fabric (approx $30-ish) as there are three different pieces, and the cut sizes will probably vary, depending on supply!)
Mary Havens 1837 This is a reproduction piece finishing approx 12-1/2 inches square on 40ct linen. The original is clearly pictured on the back of the chart, so you can get an idea of what it looks like today. Mostly golds and grays... Linda has chosen lots of 'peach' color for hers... so I imagine that was the original coloring. (I can't get past that peach... so think brick red or dusty teals???) She talks a lot inside the chart about the poor condition this is in... glued to a sticky board and everything!!! Anyway, there is a queen Stitch border in here... it is truly lovely! Watch for a companion set of stitching smalls to come out next year -- Linda is taking lots of smaller motifs from this to make cushions, cases and even a berry (I Hope!)
Eden Berry - Silk and Linen Versions Adam and Eve have never looked this elegant -- dressing a little stitched strawberry cushion! TWO different charts, two different designs! Linen berry is stitched on 36ct and finishes approx 4 inches long. Silk berry is on 40ct -- included in the chart -- and finishes approx 2 inches in size. This whole set of berries is charming... she's getting quite a collection, and they are all still available on our EM page!
Owe Them All A Petites design, this finishes approx 1-1/2 x 3 inches in size. 40ct Silk gauze is included with the chart. Coded for Weeks hand-dyed flosses or DMC.
Peace Like a River A Petites design, this finishes approx 2-1/2 inches square on the provided 40ct silk gauze. Coded for Gentle Art Sampler Threads or DMC.
These Three Remain What a gorgeous, classic design! Measuring approx 12 x 9-1/2 on 36ct, each of the three words is monochromatic, but you can use just about any colors you want. Linda USED to offer each of the three words charted in three separate patterns, but has now joined them into one design and one chart offering, and lowered the price! So... you can still get LOVE and FAITH singly, they are the same price as the trio... our single version of HOPE is sold out.
Honey and Nativity Berries on Linen or Silk Gauze! (#'s 13, 14, 15 and 16!) Erica Michaels has four more berries to join her previous 12! Joining Winter, Christmas, Quaker, Samplers, Valentines and Halloween Berries -- these 4 are elegant and charming! Presented in TWO DIFFERENT formats -- one is a cross stitch chart, stitched on 32ct linen. The other is also a cross stitch chart, but the design is different and smaller, and the packet contains a cut of 40ct silk gauze to make a smaller berry. (YES, you CAN stitch the silk one on linen, and the linen one on silk!) Either way, you'll be stitching a funny shaped design that wraps together like an ice cream cone to make a berry pin cushion! Absolutely enchanting, there is nothing else available in our marketplace like them!!!! I absolutely cannot choose a favorite!
| |
'Dem Bones A *Petites* design -- WITH a bonus cross stitch version included -- a friendly skeleton is ready to hand out hugs! The silk version includes an excerpt from Shakespeare's Hamlet (Now is the very witching time of night), while the Trick or Treat bag has a large spider front and center. Linda promises a 'fun stitch!' The bitty version is approx 2-1/2 inches, the larger finishes approx 5-inches.
Joyful Christmas A pretty little sampler -- this is a PETITE design -- the chart comes with the cut of 40ct silk gauze, and will give you a 2 x 3 finished piece. WANT BIGGER? Just choose fabric of your choice; this is worked in only 3 DMCs and 3 Weeks hand-dyed flosses.
Wise Men Talk about a stunning tree ornament! This is on 40ct, so will finish 2 x 3. Royalty colors of navy, gold and purple... elegant! It is presented as the chart with gauze cut.
A Needle's Work Erica Michaels has 3 new designs -- both for 40ct silk gauze, and regular cross stitch on linen. A Needle's Work is a charming *hand-work* piece -- it features all the words and tasks that needles DO! Quilt, knit, tat, spin, stitch, crochet, and weave... I guess they DO do all of that!!! Linda has finished her piece into fun, long and skinny pin cushion... very cute, it NEEDS to go into that basket of stitched smalls you are collecting... because it'll make great conversation! Presented as the chart with small cut of 40ct silk gauze.
Earth's Flowers The Earth laughs in Flowers is the verse featured on this tiny floral garden piece. Stitched over one on 40ct gauze, you use Weeks and Gentle Art hand-dyed flosses. Only 2 x 2... this is charming!!! Presented as the chart with gauze cut -- which you can toss and choose anything else to stitch on (if you'd rather!)
Nancy's Sewing Necessaries This is cross-stitched set of 7 smalls -- all inspired by an antique sampler stitched by Nancy Alden. A mini hornbook, pinkeep, berry, needlebook, scissor fob, pin cushion and sewing pouch... everything is worked on varying counts of fabric in hand-dyed flosses and wools. Lots of options here, we suggest you get the chart first, then decide which components you want to stitch on what. A very pretty set, presented in chart format.
Erica Michaels has New Berries, and lots of other fun things!!! Linda is expanding her delightful collection of stitched berry cushions, she chooses a theme and does one design for linen and a companion design for silk gauze -- you have stitching choices!!! Quaker and Sampler Berries are new and I JUST LOVE THEM! At first glance, you think the pairs are alike -- they are NOT! Of course, you can stitch the silk version on the linen or linen on silk -- or either on Aida -- don't get hung up on that -- Just enjoy these charming designs and the neat cushion shape!!! Presented as charts, the finishing is simple and instructions are included. MAKE SURE you check out the Halloween, Christmas, Valentines and Winter Berries, too!
| |
Just Believe *Believe things happen for a reason.* Is the sentiment on this tiny miniature 2.3 inch square piece worked on 40ct silk gauze. Colors called for are Classic Colorworks silks of Baguette, Chester's Blue and Cinnamon Stick. Presented as the chart with silk cut.
Liberty & Justice A pretty patriotic piece worked on 40ct silk gauze, there is also a version of the bottom half of this stitched on Weeks 35ct Tin Roof linen that is finished into a pin cushion! VERY nice, you don't have to work these designs on that bit of 40ct if you don't want to... other fabric choices are awesome because the designs are good enough to work on so many offerings. Weeks Deep Sea and Lancaster Red are the predominent colors... I like the less-yellow background of the cushion!
Beach Blessing - Cross Stitch on Linen Originally published as a bitty Petites design, Linda has re-worked her chart a little and here it is ready for 28 or 32 linen! Your stitch count is 93 stitches square, and colors called for are Cidermill Brown, Dungarees, Flax, Old Red Paint, Pumpkin Pie and Tea Rose. Make a pin cushion and poke in those darling JABCO seashore pins!!!
From The Lord A lovely family sampler... list all the children, grands and great-grands! Linda has this piece presented and finished in several ways. Framed, album covers, pin cushions, you have several different background choices... she suggests using them interchangeably!!! Get the pattern, study it a little, then decide how to execute.
Family Sampler Re-worked from the Petites Collection, this finishes approx 10 x 5. The original silk gauze piece is much smaller, and really quite different, but this has the same charming verse. Prsented as the chart.
Nancy Alden, 1795 Finishing approx 13 x 14-1/2, this is a reproduction of an antique sampler. Nancy stitched this when she was 12... using gorgeous sawtooth borders, and very even alphabet letters stitched over one! Linda has re-produced it with Weeks and Gentle Art Sampler Threads and even added a second charting, so if you want to stitch the Lord's Prayer over two... you can. There are Eyelets and Bullions in both the original and this rendition... just a lovely piece.
New Stitched Berries Oh my gosh, Linda Stolz has 4 new stitched strawberries that are SO COOL!!! Joining her Linen and Silk berries for Christmas and Halloween -- we now have Brrrberry -- a frosty snowman -- and Sweetberries -- chocolate and vanilla for Valentine's Day! You have choices! The larger version berries are worked on linen and finish approx 2 inches (fat) and 4 inches long. The smaller ones are stitched on 40ct silk gauze and they are petite little things at about 1 x 2. The designs on each ARE different, and of course, you can stitch either design on anything you want, but the gauze version does come with the gauze cut. They are stitched flat -- the shape looks like a flatted doggie head come -- and then you simply bring them together and join on the long edge, and squish up the top and cover it with some 'wool leaves.' Absolutely enchanting... these are REALLY special for that basket of stitched smalls you are collecting!!!
Holly Berries on Silk or Linen! Erica Michaels has a pair of stitched Christmas Strawberries to go with her new Yikesberries for Halloween! Absolutely the most charming little things... you have two fabric and stitching options with these. Holly Berry for LINEN is worked on 32ct -- we like Waterlily (softer) or Star Sapphire (stiffer) such a pretty soft green color to highlight the cute little reindeer and holly leaves... that is the linen showing, you do not stitch the background. That berry option finishes approx 4 inches in length. The SILK Berry is worked over the 40ct silk gauze that is included with its chart. It IS solid stitching, and the chart varies a little from the linen version. The little SILK guy finishes about 2 inches in length! Scroll down... we've added more new designs!
The Yikesberries OH THESE ARE SO COOL!!! Erica Michaels has outdone herself with this pair of Halloween Strawberry Pincushions! Presented in chart format -- one is stitched on Picture This Plus's 32ct Jewel Belfast hand-dyed linen and the other on bitty 40ct silk gauze -- they each use Weeks or DMC floss. These are the first in Linda's new set of DARLING berries (I talk to her all the time, and I know a Christmas berry is coming!) Anyway, your LINEN Yikesberry measures approx 2-1/2 inches wide and 4 inches long, features a stacked button stem and a bit of black felt for it's leaves. The GAUZE Yikesberry is only 1-1/2 inches wide and 2 inches long -- a miniature version of the larger. Each of the two charts are slightly different -- can you see the design differences in my pics? I have a pair of 4-inch scissors in there as well, so you can see the scale of these. Absolutely the CUTEST little things EVER... they finish in a similar fashion to Just Nan's little mice -- a stitched 'half-circle' area that is folded together --sort of like an ice-cream cone. You need these!
Pumpkin Row Pumpkins at morning, Pumpkins at noon, If it weren't for pumpkins, we should be undoon. This is very cute -- lots of brilliant and bold color in the rows of pumpkins -- this is offered as a chart, and offers three different stitching and finishing options.
| |
Beware! Here's a fun Halloween Miniature! BOO, Spooky, 10*31, it's a bitty tombstone-inspired piece that is worked with Weeks's flosses of Sweet Potato and Mascara. On the included 40ct silk gauze, it finishes just 2 x 2-1/2 inches in size. Linda suggests slimy lime or bright purple for the background -- if you don't want the burnt orange... and I think a tiny weighted stand-up box -- just like a miniature stone would be really cute, as well! Presented as the chart with small cut of 40ct silk gauze.
Home Unto Thee Retiring! Thou shalt bring thy father and thy mother and all thy father's household Home unto thee. A neat 3.2 x 3.9 miniature sampler-inspired design, this is stitched on 40ct silk gauze that is provided with the chart. Pretty, warm and carmel-y colors, the border is interesting -- it's different on three sides, and tiny Quaker motifs are scattered in the sky. It'd make a nice "Family Established" piece to hang in a foyer or family room. Presented as the chart with gauze cut -- can be stitched larger as well.
We Are Blessed Here is the new Cross-Stitch version of Linda's well-loved gauze design of We Are Blessed. Presented in chart format, it doesn't have all the background detail of the miniature gauze version, and finishes approx 10 x 7-1/2 in size. L ots of pretty Autumn-y color... you COULD stitch the gauze version on larger fabric.. and you COULD put this one on the gauze!!!
Ask, Seek and Knock * O My Soul * Quiet Moments Erica Michaels has a trio of new Petite designs that are stitched on 40ct silk gauze. Always small and totally exquisite... if you make these for gifts... they BETTER go to someone who appreciates the work you've put into them! Lovely designs, rich colors, you are doing 1/2 a stitch with one strand of hand-dyed floss. Ask finishes approx 1-3/4 x 4-1/2. Soul measures about 3-3/4 x 2. Quiet is approx 2-1/2 inches square. All three are offered as charts with the cut of gauze. Other linen sizes and counts are totally optional on your end.
Erica Michaels in Cross Stitch! Linda has introduced three of her silk gauze *Petites* designs stitched on linen instead!!! Originally published as charts for miniature stitching and now in this larger chart format... these don't need backgrounds worked... and each will turn out larger than their Petite counterparts. Linda has 'tweaked' her original designs a bit adding borders here and there or changing backgrounds... subtle changes just for fun. The charts are beautifully presented, the pictures are huge and clear, GREAT additions to our Erica Michaels collection!
| |
Erica Michaels Petites -- Miniatures for Silk Gauze (And any other fabric you want!) Linda Stolz has 5 new Petites designs that she is presenting in chart format, some with small cuts of 40ct silk gauze. (But like her new Classics -- you CAN stitch these on larger counts!) Always precious tiny heirlooms... here is the new line-up!
| |
Red Posey Sampler Oh, this is a delightful little hornbook piece! Presented as a chart -- we have LIMITED finishing materials available for these! (So really, it's a kit!) You get the chart, the 2-3/4 x 3-1/2 black painted wooden hornbook, the hand-dyed flosses, finishing wool and ribbon cut! A simple alphabet with some traditional flowers... colors are Baby Spinach, Buckeye Scarlet, Espresso Bean and Oatmeal! Just the cutest little thing!
New Designs from Erica Michaels More of Linda's elegant petite silk designs... these are definitely tiny works of needleart to be treasured for years to come! All are offered as charts with cut of 40ct silk gauze included. You can always work them on any OTHER fabric you wish... it just changes the finished size a little -- but not the 'flavor' of the designs!
| |
Ebenezer's Christmas *I will honor Christmas in my heart and try to keep it all year* Erica Michaels has a new sampler that is LOVELY! Work it on 28ct linen -- or any count you like best -- it finishes approx 6-1/2 x 14-1/2. Linda's piece has three separate areas -- can your eye capture them? Ebenezer's famous promise at the top, the horse pulling a sleigh in the center, and the holiday couple with God Bless Us Everyone at the bottom. When you open your chart, you'll find each of those three parts stitched individually and finished differently. LOTS of different options with this piece! Tiny framed samplers, pillows, she has even found a 'Memory Tray' at Hobby Lobby and filled in the different sections with the needlework and matching decorations. Each of the projects is coded for flosses or silks, all in deep, classic red and greens... this has such a pretty, classic flavor! Offered as the chart.
Witches Go Riding Stitch a little tombstone that is less than 2 inches in size! This would be so cute on the front of a sewing or needle case... find one of Fern Ridge's halloween-y beaded scissor fobs to pair with it -- SO COOL! Offered as a chart with optional 40ct silk gauze cut included, if you choose a larger linen for this, it'll finish approx 5 x 5 on a 32ct.-- which would make a nice-sized case.
Seven Virtues Stitch count of 71 x 149, this finishes 1.8 x 3.8 inches on 40ct gauze. The seven virtues are easily seen against the Week's Whitewash background!
Heart & Compass Hidden in the tapestry-like background around the aolde world compass is the verse of advice in this. *Let your heart be your compass.* With a stitch count of 77 x 79, this finishes almost 2 inches square and features a gold #28 Tapestry needle as the needle of the compass!
4 Seasons Summer We round out the set of 4 seasons with this lovely medley of summertime thoughts. Sailboats and bumblebees and a bold border of simple flowers, it follows the same design format as the other three seasons. The stitch count is 105 x 105, so on the provided 40ct silk gauze cut, this finishes approx 2.6 inches in size. A very pretty set of designs!
Christ's Cross Retiring! Christ's cross be my speed, in all virtue to proceed. A pretty bookmark to use in a very special book... Linda has included the cut of gold grosgrain ribbon to finish your piece just like the marker in the pic. I love the alphabet... she's spelled out 'Double U!' Offered as a chart with cut of 40ct gauze and the ribbon, the stitched area is approx 1-1/4 x 6-1/4 in size!
Out of Many, One VERY appropriate for anybody who loves America!!!! Proceeds from this pattern are being donated to TADSAW -- the organization that is rescuing and training service dogs to help returning soldiers and veterans. Stitch count is 92 x 94... so on the 40ct this finishes a bit over 2 x 2, and on 14 aida/28 linen... it'll be approx 7 x 7 in size. DMC or hand-dyeds of Chestnut, Cocoa, Linen, Merlot, Navy, Onyx and Putty.
Standard of Grace I will hold myself to a standard of Grace -- not perfection! DMC or hand-dyeds of Currant, Flax, Old Hickory and Linen, this measures 83 x 131 in size. 2 x 3-ish On the 40ct gauze... and about 6 x 9 on larger fabrics like 14ct Aida or 28ct Linen. Neat graduation gift... just classy and timeless. It doesn't need to scream a diploma or date that 'ages' on the wall... this'll inspire forever! Offered as the chart with cut of 40ct Gauze for the miniature version.
The Psalms Retiring! This is a small bit of stitching -- *the 23rd Psalm* is all it says. Linda is showing it with a bit of Scrapbooking artwork as the finishing. She's made a 'prayer card' of sorts by decorating a card with the printed psalm on one side, and old lace and buttons on the other -- so highlight the bit of stitching. Stitch count is 27 x 131, this is charted for DMC or hand-dyeds of Baby Spinach, Sable, and Artichoke!
4 Seasons Spring Is when Nature resumes her Loveliness Isn't that the truth! We're still battling snowy weather right now... we'd almost decided Spring was cancelled this year! Joining Autumn and Winter -- three of this 4-part set have been released. Stitch count is 105 x 105 -- so approx 2-1/2 inches in size on the provided 40ct silk gauze, or approx 7-1/2 inches on 14/28!
Believe Retiring! Lots of things to remind you of the Christmas Season, this tiny stitched tree shape measures 83 x 104 stitches. Linda has worked it on 40ct silk gauze and embellished each tree 'branch' with a tiny gold petite seed bead, and added a small brass star to the top. Rather than framing this, she has mounted it onto a vintage Christmas Card and added a few old buttons. It'd make a pretty, lightweight tree ornament this way, and would be kind of neat perched on an easel as a decoration as well. Just a different finishing thought! Offered as the chart with gauze and star, flosses and beads come from your stash.
Linger in the Snowfall Retiring! This is really pretty. The background needs to be worked first -- so you can SEE where all your white stitches will go -- on that white gauze. Because you are executing only a half stitch -- you get an empty area that is 'diagonal' rather than totally square, so Linda is using some whole Crosses to make the flakes a better shape. Then, you have a white Saw Tooth Satin Stitched border surrounding this -- but I don't think you can see that in the picture. Very simple in color and really elegant, this measures a mere 2 x 2 on the 40ct gauze.
4 Seasons - Winter A 2-1/2 inch square of tiny stitching, this features all things Winter! Tiny chickadees, bears, evergreens, flakes... and of course a snowman! A pretty companion to Autumn, it is worked in a medley of Weeks, Gentle Art and DMC flosses.
Cats & Pumpkins Erica Michaels has 4 new silk gauze pieces -- all delivered in chart format with 40ct silk gauze fabric cut included in each. Go with the 40ct... or change it out and work on your favorite fabric. Cats & Pumpkins is a striking Halloween piece, it finishes approx 2 x 2-1/2. The other three offerings cover Christmas and Autumn, all are coded for DMC or hand-dyed flosses.
4 Seasons Autumn Beautiful, rich autumnal colors, this finishes approx 2-1/2 inches square.
Christmas Blessing Lovely borders surrounding a welcoming Holiday greeting, this finishes approx 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 on the 40ct gauze.
Fox Pangram When and where we recall typing this phrase will likely date us -- the typewriter or word processor? Either way, it still inspires some fun images. Pangram is the official name for a sentence which uses every letter of the alphabet. So... stitch this for your favorite English Teacher!!! Just a bitty thing, the stitch count is 57 x 86. Offered as the chart with 40ct silk cut. This one is shown in Olde Colonial's flat black miniature frame. We have that color option, or about 10 others -- all in that same tiny size.
Liberty Squared Erica Michaels has a few new miniature silk-gauze pieces... Liberty Squared follows the same format as her Jingle, Seaside and Scared Squares. A 2-inch, 4-square theme... can you see the four different sections in here? The flag, the verse, USA and the hometown fireworks scene? You get a lot into your 72 x 72 half stitches on 40ct!!! Offered as the chart with cut of gauze. On 28ct, this would finish approx 5 x 5!
Miracles *Believe in Them* That kind of says it all! Another Petite 2 x 2-ish 40ct silk gauze piece, this one features lovely patterns in the background stitching -- almost a tone-on-tone idea. Offered as the chart with cut of silk gauze. Stitch count is 75 x 77 -- another piece that would finish approx 5 x 5 on 28ct.
Kindness *Wherever there is a human, there is an opportunity for Kindness.* A bit under 3 x 3 the colors in this are Wavy navy, Apple Cider, Parchment and DMC 3828.
America Quite a classic piece, this fits the same frame as Life is a Journey and Good Every Day! Finishing a bit under 2 x 4, this would be stunning in a professional office or your family room! Rich navys and browns.
Birthday Bits Wow... birthday designs are few and far between! This one is sweet and small -- only 1-1/2 x 2 on the 40ct gauze. The same size as lots of Linda's smaller pieces.... it fits the Olde Colonial frames that we have in something like 12 different finishes! Check out all the other little smalls...you can see the frame options. Anyway, cheerful and fun to pull out on the days someone in the family has a birthday!
Golden Rule Days Something neat for the teacher in YOUR life... I'm not so sure you want to be stitching these for every teacher your child had this year... save this for someone special. Offered as the chart, this has a stitch count of 98 x 72, so it'll finish 5 x 7 on regular 28 or 14ct... but much smaller if you use the silk gauze included in the package. A remembrance of days gone by... where they didn't have to do a diarama, book report and dress up in costume of a favorite character for every book they read... and even BEFORE laptops! Imagine...!
This Day Forward Retiring! A wedding announcement... this finishes a petite 2-1/2 inches square! You want to *give them something... but nothing too big* -- THIS IS IT! Offered as the chart with gauze cut, there are only three colors in here... but all browns. Some blues and creams would be good, or plain old black, gray and whites... very subdued and sophisticated. Offered as the chart with gauze cut.
Jingle Squared Erica Michaels has a new 4-part mini-gauze design that is SO CHARMING!!! Jingle Squared is just like Scared and Seaside Squared -- 4 TINY motifs jammed together into a petite 2 x 2 stitched area. 10 Different colors of DMC and handyed flosses, you are doing one-half a stitch on the 40ct gauze. We have several other of Linda's things stitched on such fabrics as 32ct, and even 14... so don't let that little number like 40 dissuade you! (if you're past 40... think of how good 40 was!) Anyway... real cute motifs, lovely color... we like these displayed on an easel or in a little stand-up cube, or framed. Really neat as tree ornaments - but really too pretty and delicate to risk getting lost among the branches. Display these by themselves... they deserve it. Offered as the chart with cut of gauze. Flosses come from your stash.
Hark! Rich overdyeds of Blackbird, Roasted Chestnut and Oatmeal... this finishes less than 2 inches square in size. We carry that little frame, too!
Count Your Blessings Retiring! Lots of numbers, lots of ways to count your blessings! Finishes approx 2 x 2-1/2 on 40ct gauze, this is stitched with seven different hand-dyeds, but DMC alternatives are offered in case you'd rather use them.
Spirit of Christmas Elegant color, gorgeous fonts for the medley of seasonal words and sentiments... this stitches into a very classic Holiday decoration. Stitched on 40ct silk gauze, with DMC threads, this finishes approx 3 x 3-1/2 inches. It does call for 2 skeins of Week's Goldenrod floss which really gives you a soft, relaxed background -- so definitely do not substitute that color.
Good Every Day A flowing vine of stylized flowers against a background of soft swirls... this is luscious! *Find the good in every day* is the featured verse in this 2 x 4-ish tiny masterpiece. The saw tooth border is actually worked in Satin Stitch! Gorgeous palette of reds, and greens, with the 'blue sky background' and the golden border. I wish the flowers in my yard grew like these!!! Offered as the chart with bit of silk gauze. Use overdyeds from your stash, this finishes approx 2 x 4.
Seaside Squared Pretty seaside colors, the mermaid and lighthouse, you get all sorts of sea creatures in the waves below. Finishing just under 2 x 2, what a neat little piece for anyone who loves the ocean and the waves. The tiny crab and whale are less than 1/2 an inch each! Offered in chart format, along with a bit of silk gauze for stitching, this uses regular over-dyed flosses -- not too much -- because it is so petite! You're just using half a cross stitch, and I find that highlighting the finished rows on your chart are a great help in the stitching process.
All Thy Works Featuring Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, Linda has packed the whole world into this delightful miniature work of art! Stitched with one strand of hand-dyed and DMC cotton floss over one on 40ct silk gauze, this might take a while to execute, but well worth the effort. Enchanting with all the tiny details in here, this is one of Linda's drawings... and we saw it before it was even stitched and were blown away. You're doing a simple Half Cross Stitch. I find it easier to mark my chart with a yellow highlighter when I've finished a row or section. Sometimes those teeny stitches are too hard to count. The chart comes with the gauze, but if you want to do this on something larger -- like 28ct Cashel -- you can. (28 count will finish approx 10 x 13!!!) Just breathtaking!
A Sampling of Friends Stitch this with or without the bottom section that includes initials of your friends... you might have too many to fit in there! Friend -- spelled in different languages -- is a pretty study of yellows, greens, blues and cream. Stitched on 40ct silk gauze, this finishes approx 2-1/2 inches square.
Delight Retiring! 'Teach us delight in simple things' is the verse featured in this 2-inch square miniature. Worked on 40ct silk gauze with one strand of DMC or hand-dyeds, it makes a quiet statement in its petite frame. Pretty on a small easel. Offered as the chart with gauze cut.
Better to Give Quite the advice for The Season -- but actually any time of year -- Erica Michaels delivers us Little Bits of Wisdom in a bitty little stitched format! Finishing LESS THAN 2 inches square on 40ct silk gauze, this is done with half a stitch on the gauze -- which is actually easier to see than the linens of the same count! Totally easy, Better To Give uses only 4 colors, and is a *REALLY GOOD* beginner gauze piece because of its design simplicity. The bow is easy to count, the verse easy to see and stitch... the border -- nothing easier than straight lines... and the background! That background is just one color of overdyed, so you're JUST FILLING IT IN! The thread variation is doing all the work! What a beautiful tiny work of stitched art to perch on a small easel! Offered as the chart with gaze cut -- any other fabrics work well, too!
All The Stars *The moon shines full at His command and all the stars obey.* What a neat piece for a guest room! Stitched on 40ct silk gauze, this measures 2 x 3-1/2 and is primarily stitched in Crescent's Wavy Navy, Gentle Art's Oatmeal and Pumpkin Pie, and Weeks Amber. All that luscious gold and navy!
My 1st Christmas A mini-stocking ornament design, stitch this in honor of the first Christmas... or that of the new grandbaby!!! Worked in Weeks, Gentle Art and DMCs, it finishes a trite 1-1/2 x 1-3/4!!! Easy to finish into an ornament in any number of ways... it'd be fun to personalize with baby's name.
Scared Squared I LOVE this little thing! A scary skeleton, Frankenstein, Witch and Jack-o-Lantern are all organized into their Hollywood Squares!!! Stitched into the petite 2 x 2 design on 40 ct fabric -- that makes each of these ONLY 1/2 AN INCH IN SIZE! The picture on the pattern cover is bigger than the actual finished piece!! Stunning in brilliant color, this is an enchanting piece! Offered as the chart.
Always Thankful *There is always, always, always something to be thankful for.* Words of eternal wisdom!!! This exquisite silk piece is worked in only 5 colors of cotton flosses, and finishes a tiny 2-1/3 x 3. Quite understated and elegant, this deserves an awesome custom frame treatment, and a place of honor on a table easel or special wall. Offered as the chart with gauze.
Forgive Retiring! A petite 1-7/8 inch square with a huge message to share, Linda shares a design full of hope and healing. With a stitch count of 76 x 76, if you work it on 28ct, it finishes approx 5-1/2 inches square. Pretty blues, greens and taupes, this piece is very elegant with it's Dried Thyme, Flax, Old Blue Paint, Uniform Blue, Wrought Iron and Parchment colors. Offered as the chart with 40ct gauze cut -- which is your option to use!
Friendship, Hope & Welcome Grace Retiring! A trio of 'Little Bits o' Wisdom,' each of these finishes a mere 1-7/8 inches square and is shown inside one of Olde Colonial's miniature frames, made especially for them! Stitch counts of 74 x 74, they can be stitched on something like a 25 Lugana (6 x 6) or 32 Belfast (4-1/2 x 4-1/2)... but as long as you already GET the 40ct silk gauze cut inside the chart package.... you have no excuse not to enjoy trying it, too! Beautiful, comforting sentiments, these are quite impressive as tiny 3 x 3 framed pieces, quietly perched on a small easel and displayed on a table, sill or inside a neat alcove. Offered as charts with gauze cut, we carry the little frames!
Proverbs Child This gorgeous birth sampler is packaged with an oversized chart, alphabets for personalization, and charted verse for *he* vs *she.* Presented as the chart with cut of 40ct silk gauze... THIS model is stitched on the 40ct and measures approx 3 x 5. Of course, it can be stitched on any fabric, so if you like the sentiment, but not the small size, choose another linen -- 28ct ct will make it approx 8-1/2 x 14! Very pretty, tailored, classic, and not *baby fussy!* Offered as the chart with cut of gauze.
Peace on Earth Two crisp white doves against a deep sea blue background... and sailing ships floating amongst the rolling waves -- billowy clouds in the sky -- pretty pictures, these do present! Two charming miniature 2 x 2 stocking cuffs... both of these designs can be stitched and framed if you wish, but Linda shows tiny wool stocking ornaments (2 X 5) as finishing options. Lovely color, subtle shading because of the overdyeds, each stocking pattern comes with the 40ct silk gauze, chart, and stocking cut-out templates and instructions for easy finishing. You'll need a schnigglet cut of our Weeks Wool to make the stocking, lots of great color options with that.
Making Christmas Stocking Selections? Don't miss seeing the entire collections of several different designer's talents! Christmas Stockings are an individual thing! Some want all in the family to match... some want different designs to 'match the person'... Check out our Stocking Page for lots of options!!!
Second Spring 'Autumn is the second spring... where every leaf is a flower.' Erica Michaels has released 3 new silk gauze designs... Second Spring is featured in our pic. Trick or Treat, a tiny Halloween Stocking, and A Family Sampler are stunning... we have them below. Like all the others, Second Spring is presented in chart format, so you can stitch it on virtually any count fabric you wish. The chart comes with a bit of 40ct silk gauze... so if you are brave... you can stitch it into a 2 x 2 miniature masterpiece... or a cute 5 x 5 if you chose something like 28ct. Awesome Autumn colors, how can you NOT be drawn to this? It's stunning! Add we carry the little frame! Beautiful burled and distessed, it measures approx 2 x 2!
Trick or Treat Who ever heard of a Halloween Stocking? This is darling!!! Erica Michaels has made a miniature stocking out of Weeks Dye Works hand dyed wools, and stitched the coordinating cuff over one on 40ct silk gauze! A jack-o-lantern face, just as simple as can be... your stitched area is only 2 x 2! These silk gauze designs are so *do-able!* I hope she does a whole series of these! If you're not a stocking-gal... just frame Trick or Treat... or make a needle case... or an ornament! Offered as the chart with bit of gauze, in case you want to try it!
Mending Erica Michaels has released two more tiny 40ct silk gauze pieces... this one catches my eye... because not only does she get those tiny stitches done on 40ct... but she incorporates SPECIALTY STITCHES on the gauze as well!!! Mending features a meaningful verse for stitchers. Its bottom border treatment uses Rhodes Stitches, so the 'tassels' at the bottom of the design actually are raised a little! Only 4 colors of threads in this piece... it is offered as the chart (which can be stitched on ANY count of fabric) and the cut of 40ct silk gauze to make this perfect little wisp of a piece!
Freedom Bits Another itty-bitty seasonal wonder... remember, these finish a mere 1 x 2-ish... in TOTAL SIZE!!! The design comes charted like a regular cross stitch design... and includes a cut of 40ct silk gauze. Freedom Bits joins this delightful collection of tiny seasonals... each one is as cute as the other!!!!
St Patrick's & Easter Bits Linda has outdone herself again... with 4 new 40ct silk gauze designs... here are just 2! Teeny-Weeny Easter and St Pats finish approx 1-1/2 x 2... and are stitched with only a HALF a Cross Stitch, with ONE strand of floss. Just like stitching 'over one' on linen... the gauze is actually thinner than linen, so the holes are twice the size. Doesn't seem to make sense, but trust me! Darling little designs, each is offered as the chart with bitty gauze cut. They mount into Olde Colonial's miniature frames -- we have every single one -- so your tiny masterpieces WILL turn out like these! (3 Days before Market, we had Linda's Easter model in the shop. I LOST it... and it was re-stitched in 11 hours... in time to show at Market! Lesson learned... these are exquisitely tiny... but very stitchable!!! Extra Tiny Frames available, too!
Time & Seasons 'He has made everything beautiful in it's time.' Oh, a lovely look out your window into your very own backyard... you are treated to the beauty of each season. Notice the tree is divided into the four seasons? Lower right brings Springtime with baby bunnies... Summer has the magnolia leaves, bluebirds and bees, Autumn's tiny guest is a squirrel perched on that tree branch, while Winter has that frosty sky and deep red cardinal. Stitch count of 105 x 105, this finishes approx 7-1/2 x 7-1/2 on 28ct BUTTTTTT a petite 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 on the provided 40ct silk gauze. A treat to yourself!
Happy New Year & Valentine's Day Little Bits Erica Michaels has two new teeny-weeny pieces in her series of Bits. Of course, you can choose any size fabric to stitch them on... but her charts come with a small cut of 40ct silk gauze that makes these a mere trifle of 1-1/4 inches x 2! Absolutely breathtaking little things... we SAW one of our ladies stitch an entire one of these in ONE DAY at Camp Wannasew this past fall!!! You do only *half* of the cross stitch, with one strand of either DMC or hand-dyed floss. Awesome color, pretty designs... we have Linda's Trunk Show in the shop till February, so I hope you can make it in to see our almost 2-dozen confections of miniature perfection! Each is offered as the chart, and includes the gauze. We have ALL the little frames available for the Little Bits as well.
Needle Nut Oh, this is a CHARMING miniature acorn scissor fob that is stitched over one on 30ct silk gauze. (same size as over one on 30ct linen.) Erica Michaels' Linda has outdone herself with her latest releases -- we have 6 of them -- this is just one! Stitched with one strand of Gentle Art's Simply Wool thread... this tiny acorn finishes approx 1.7 x 2.2 inches -- you can see its size, because that's my hand in the pic! Chart comes with the gauze and brass acorn charm... we sell the wool thread separately. This tiny thing is just beautiful... it feels so good in your hand... I think because the wool is so soft, and it's a pleasing shape, the colors are soothing and gentle!
We Are Blessed Retiring! 'Let each of us be mindful of all we have for which to give thanks; friends, food, hopes, health and happy memories. So in giving thanks, we are blessed.' This piece is absolutely stunning... it's over-the-top awesome! Stitched over one on 40ct silk gauze using Weeks and Gentle Art flosses, it finishes approx 4 x 5 -- the stitch count being 197 x 157. (That's 11 x 14 on 14ct!!!!!) Very Autumnal in color, there are acorns rounding the border, and a subtle Fleur-de-Lis pattern in the background. Chart includes the cut of gauze needed. The overdyed threads called for give you that aged look, and are available separately. Solid stitching... this is breathtaking!!!
Little Bits Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kris Kringle! NOTHING is as cute as these are -- one thread over one square of 40ct silk gauze -- Linda Stolz has definitely found her niche in silk gauze designing!!! We present a set of 5 tiny 1-1/4 x 2 inch designs for the Holidays!!! She even has Smryna Crosses in some of these -- over one on 40ct! Stitched with overdyeds and DMC flosses, you simply do a 1/2 a stitch to make these tiny creations! Each is offered as the chart with cut of gauze. YOU CAN STITCH THESE ON ANYTHING LARGER... if gauze is not your fancy -- on 28ct linen, they would finish approx 3-1/2 x 6, which is still pretty petite! Great colors, fun motifs, the Holiday name down the left-hand side adds a touch of contemporary. Be sure to click the images above so you can see these in their full glory!
Grand Old Flag Wow... Erica Michael's Linda Stolz has really outdone herself with this one! An old-fashioned flag design, stitched in overdyeds... you can stitch this on any count fabric you like. On 28ct... Grand Old Flag measures approx 3 x 5... BUT... if you decide to be adventuresome, and work on 40ct, you will be transported into Bliss! Grand Old Flag will measure a mere 1 x 3-1/2!!! You can work it in regular cross stitches... and it will be lovely... but you can also work it in HALF the cross stitch... (you never even cross the X!)... and for 1/2 the work, you get *triple* the impact! A lovely little design, her overdyed color choices remind you of denim and raspberry, with age-stained white. Offered as a chart.
Serenity God, Grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change... Erica Michaels has stitched this quietly comforting statement in cross stitch. Serenity is presented as a chart; in the picture, it is stitched in only the first half of your cross stitches on 40ct silk gauze! (DO NOT PANIC! Remember, you're asking for Serenity, Courage and Wisdom!!!) One of her Petite Collection of Silk Gauze pieces, these are all deceptively easy to execute... they appear to have 'streaks' in the backgrounds -- that's the overdyed floss at work for you! All the subtle color differences add lots of interest, without you doing any of that work!!! The Serenity Prayer is charted for stitching with or without 'God' in the top block of the design... I choose one way to stitch it, another may choose the other! (I think I have serenity, courage and wisdom about all that...!) Anyway, this is offered in chart format, WITH the cut of 40ct silk gauze. It finishes approx 3 x 4 on the 40ct (could be 9 x 10 on 14ct aida or 28ct linen!) and is stitched in Weeks, and Gentle Art overdyes, and DMC 644. Very classy, I wish she'd shown the framed piece on her pattern cover... this is serious elegance in a custom frame!!!
Little Bit O' Summer Linda has rounded out her four TINY seasons with this wild seashore scene!!! The sand castle, the little terra cotta crab, pelican, bright sunshine, stormy sky, and those roiling waves... I was going to say all we needed was JAWS... but I do see a little sea turtle in those waves!!! A teeny-weeny 1 x 2 creation... this joins Spring, Autumn and Winter -- and all are *really neat!* Each framed piece fits easily into my hand... SUCH an eye-catcher displayed individually on a small plate easel! Olde Colonial makes the little frame you see here... We can send the chart (that contains the little piece of gauze) and that petite frame! Zip-Zap - you add schnigglets of your flosses to stitch this in about 15 hours... and you're done!
Random Threads Erica Michaels has designed a *precious* miniature stitching piece!!! As part of her 40ct silk gauze series of Petites, Random Threads is a tiny 1.8 x 1.8 inches, and is a miniature medley of threads, spools, and 'sewing stuff.' All 1/2 crosses of Crescent's Belle Soie Silk -- the colors used are Chocolat, Cinnamon Stick and Vanilla Pudding! Sounds good enough to eat! Your mini confection will make an awesome scissor fob... but if you'd like to frame it in Olde Colonial's 'bead board' frame, we have it, too! An exquisite little piece! Offered as the chart with silk gauze. Crescent Silks and frame offered separately.
Little Bit O' Spring A colorful garden of Springtime flowers lined up in the Spring sunshine... 11 colors of Crescent's hand-dyed flosses are needed to stitch this tiny 1 x 2 inch wonder! Worked in half crosses (only the first stitch of an X) these really do stitch quickly! Offered as the chart with 40ct silk gauze, you CAN stitch these on any other fabric as well -- because, remember, you do have the chart! Summer is due out in a few weeks, which will complete the 4-Seasons set.
To Thee My Heart Retiring! Erica Michaels is into 40ct silk gauze these days... and this new piece is a stunning example of her talents! It is really only 1/2 stitches on 40ct, so the stitching measures a mere 1.7 x 2 inches... and is worked in only 4 colors of hand-dyed flosses and one DMC. A deep, rich green, accented with lighter green, golds and purples, we had the model in the shop for a few special days, and it was a real eye-catcher! A cool wedding or anniversary piece, or a gift for someone you love... the secret to working on the gauze is to highlight the parts of your chart that you have *finished.* That way, you eliminate lots of extra counting, and you know right where you are! Pattern includes the chart and the piece a gauze. You supply the bits of floss and the stitches! Exquisite! (Linda's Summer and Spring miniature gauze season pieces are due out in a few weeks... companions to Autumn and Winter!)
Little Bit o Winter A teeny thing... Winter stiches a mere 1 x 2 on the provided 40ct! Since gauze is no longer available, stitch this on whatever you have in your stash. Calling for overdyed flosses gives the design lots of interest -- can you see the 'lines' in the background? That's the overdyed. Just exquisite!
Little Bit o' Autumn Autumn is the first of 4 seasons... and is stitched in 8 shades of Weeks hand-dyed flosses. It finishes a super-bitsy 1-1/2 x 2 inches, and is shown in one of Olde Colonial's teeny-weeny birdseye frames. This design no longer comes with the gauze that was originally intended... it isn't available any more! So it is now available for you to stitch on your choice of fabric. You can even re-stitch this on 10ct -- and have a 4 x 8 pillow!
Autumn Perch Wow, what a fun Fall design... offered three different ways... in case you can't make up your mind!!! A big, fat blackbird is perched on top of a checkerboard pumpkin... stitch it on 40ct in silks, 10ct with size 5 Pearl Cottons, or 30ct linen with overdyeds. Or... punch needle it, enjoying the re-useable iron-on transfer!!! Luscious russets, moss greens, goldens and striking black. Each of the four ways this is worked... it's just stunning! Available as the leaflet with the iron-on transfer and Punch Needle instructions included! |
