Stitch People has published a really neat set of books that, between them all, offer you literally thousands of different motifs to customize your own stitching project. The idea is to choose specific motifs from the entries to make your own family, vacation, or event pieces. You can use your own vacation pics or special event pics as the guide and stitch a memory that REALLY LOOKS LIKE YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR PIC! Each book is spiral bound and printed in full color on heavy pages. The charts are huge, and as I mentioned, each book includes hundreds of individual options.
Occupations & Hobbies 48 Pages of little charts of pilots, captains, flight attendants, builders, handymen, construction people, chauffeurs and drivers, clowns, teachers, librarians, hairdressers, food workers, government workers, police, firefighters, rangers, scholars and graduates, musicians and instruments, medical people, photographers... scouts too! Just so much fun to see the variety in here... they talk about changing the chart to 'your person' by adding a row for height, or changing the hair color or style. Fishermen, golfers, swat teams even! You get the idea.
Backgrounds This one has 52 pages of different background charts for your pieces. They teach you how to use a photograph and recreate it with cross stitch. The contents lists Camping and the Woods, USA National Parks, Open Sky, Gardens and Outdoor parties, Road Tripping, Snowy Scenes and Beachy & Tropical. Then, you get pages and pages of little motifs to use as the backgrounds for all your little people you've created from the first book.
Floral Motifs 36 pages of basic embroidery stitch diagrams in this one. Once you register your book, you'll have access to online video presentations to help you do the stitches. This one has 35 different swag designs to embellish your people patterns... but more generally offers basics to create your own florals.
Weddings This book has 78 pages of everything you ever wanted or needed to use to stitch a wedding! The contents include dealing with lace an veils, bouquet techniques, and then goes into the whole color 'thing' of white, antique white, oatmeal.
