Fun Winter and Valentine's Designs Gosh, we love, love how cute these designs are... but get totally overwhelmed when we look at the charts! Gorgeous to look at, there is a ton of shading on these, and even though the charts are huge and beautifully colored, they are intense. We tease in the shop about cutting out the cover images on these leaflets and framing them! If you can do these - GO FOR IT! And love every stitch! Each is presented in full color huge chart format! Love Penguin - He measures just 80 x 67 - so only 5-3/4 x 5 on 14/28ct... and he's coded for only 28 shades of DMC.. but there are 6 blended needle combinations too! Be Mine? - This charming couple measures 100 x 100 - so 6-1/2 inches square on 28ct. It calls for 30 shades of DMC, and you'll have 15 blended needles! Happy Valentine's Day - Isn't this the sweetest? He's just 80 x 80 and he calls for 30 DMCs and sports just 7 blended needle colors! Christmas Father Arrives - What a classic and gorgeous Christmas decoration to stitch! So cheerful, so warm-and-fuzzy feeling... Santa is just 90 x 100. He calls for 28 DMC, and he has 7 blended needle colors.
Merry Christmas Cupcakes Wow, this enchanting set of cupcakes came through our shop doors - 'on paper only!' What a yummy collection of stitched cupcakes... each measures about 40 x 45 in stitch count so will finish about 3 inches on 32ct! The whole design measures 160 x 170 - 10-ish inches. We liked the idea of stitching just one of two of these - that way you get the charm of the piece in 25% of the stitching time! Presented as a beautfully large colored chart and coded for DMC - I lost count at 60 different colors in this!
An Advent Calendar of Motifs and Gingerbread Houses You'll need to get a little creative in planning out an Advent Calendar to take advantage of these super-cute little Holiday motifs! I'd choose Gingerbread colored fabric by Picture This Plus... I'm not sure if I'd make these on the fronts of tiny treat pockets or what, but all the designs are around 20 x 20 or 25 each - nice petite little pieces, coded for DMC. Some would be cute ornaments as well. The Gingerbread Houses are shown on a gray background. Each measures about 50 stitches high, and vary in width. Coded for DMC, you could add metallics, opalescents and beads all over on these! Think about a gingerbread village of individual stand-up blocks too!
Sewing Lavender This is a neat pattern. It is a medley of antique sewing accessories and tools, all stitched with 26 various shades of DMC floss. The charts in here are huge, and all in color. You can stitch each 'thing' individually or do the entire medley, which measures 117 x 141 - so only 7 x 9 on 32ct! It looks a lot bigger than that, so the moral of this story is PIN CUSHIONS AND LITTLE SEWING CASES! That tape measure is about 15 x 60 the button card is only 34 x 34, the safety pin is only 10 x 30... these are enchanting little what-nots! Get the chart, and then figure out what you want to do with all the designs... this is a 'must have!'
Lavender's Sprig This is a pretty medley of small designs that would make a lovely collection of individual pin cushions. The whole picture is 140 x 140 - so think you could break it up pretty easily into smaller sections. 26 shades of DMC floss called for.
En Route Pour Noel from Les Petites Croix de Lucie Oh we love these two designs by Les Petites Croix de Lucie... she calls them her "Vintage Collection." Absolutely charming, she has great shading in these, which makes them all the harder to stitch! The girl (108 x 140) has 26 different shades of DMC, then blended needles of 8 more colors, the backstitch is all done all over the place - not following the horizontal and vertical chart lines. So... you either like doing that, or hate it, but wow, either way, the designs are awesome! (You could always Decopage the cover pics on something! That is REALLY CHEATING, but it's fun to think about!)
