New Designs from a New Designer - Cosford Rise Stitchery.
We have almost 3 dozen new designs by Kelly Grundy of Cosford Rise Stitchery - coming from all the way 'Across the Pond.'
All are clearly charted and coded for DMC floss. Here we go!

Love and Joy by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more

Love and Joy
What a pretty pair of small cushion designs. By Cosford Rise, Kelly has chosen a deep green fabric to set-off her DMC 3865 Winter White blackwork stitching, and then accented with Gentle Art's Grecian Gold for her sentiments.

Trim is vintage mini garland - which we carry! Anyway, think about deep colors of fabric - reds, blues... maybe do the wording in metallic?

These are actually very simple but so classic and eyecatching. Both designs come in the single chart.

In the Dale by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more

In the Dale
Stitch a charming little egg-shaped scene of rabbits running over hills and dale. We American Girls had to have a discussion in the shop about Dales - what are they, how do I use them in a sentence... we know nothing, so can't wait to get to Market and ask all about them!

This measures 130 x 162 and is coded for DMC... I wish we could get our hands on that frame... but the pic gives you a great guide for painting your own. Presented as a chart - such a happy picture!

The Windflower and the Whale by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more The Neptune and the Sailors by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more
  • The Windflower and the Whale - Love this trio of seaworthy designs - especially that huge whale one! Smokey Blue fabric - finishes a little under 5 x 5 on 36ct.
  • The Neptune and the Sailors - Just like the large whale on the other one, I like the large ship pic on this one. Both are coded mostly of DMC with a few hand-dyeds tossed in.

Father Christmas's Village by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more

Father Christmas's Village
This is actually a Christmassy sampler - but you have to look closely to see the holiday flavor - and then you can see it everywhere! A holly border surrounds reindeer, the village church, tree farm, mill, sleigh bell inn, the post office, tea shoppe, and glorious basket of poinsettias.

Stitched with both Weeks and Gentle Arts: Grecian Gold, Caramel Corn, Picket Fence, Tarnished Gold, Collards, Cameo Pink, Woodrose, Olive, Pomegranate and Endive, the colors are really nice against the honey-colored background. Measuring 215 x 255, this finishes a generous 12 x 15 on 36ct.

Happy Christmas to All by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more A Jolly Happy Soul by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more Holy Holy Holy by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more
  • Happy Christmas to All - LOVE this! Santa floating above the sleeping village. Weeks Tin Roof Linen (your choice of count), this measures 130 x 160 - so approx 8 x 11 on 32ct.
  • A Jolly Happy Soul - Another super-cute one... this is done on Weeks Tin Roof linen with a mixture of hand-dyeds, but DMC conversions are given. 169 x 69 -- so 9-1/2 x 4 in 36ct.
  • Holy Holy Holy - Just a classic! Worked on Weeks Twilight Linen, this one is NOT coded for DMC. Everything pops on that dark fabric, this measures 140 x 84 - so approx 9 x 5 on 32ct.

Father Christmas and Uncle Holly by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more Peppermint House by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more All Is Calm All is Bright by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more Jingle All the Way by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more
  • Father Christmas and Uncle Holly - A pair of Old Tyme Santas with forest friends, apparently Uncle Holly is Santa's brother! Coded for hand-dyeds or DMC, each measures 55 x 80... 3 x 4-ish.
  • Peppermint House - Quite the festive scene - hard to tell in the pic but the sky is full of lacy stitched snowflakes. DMC on natural, this measures 130 x 153 - 8 x 9-1/2 on 32ct.
  • All Is Calm All is Bright - A trio of smaller designs - all are ornament or pin cushion sized, and done with hand-dyeds for a softer look.
  • Jingle All the Way - Stitched on white or seafoam linen, the ornaments are taken from the larger scene.
Nothing Gold Can Stay by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more Give Your Heart: The Midwife's Sampler by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more The Ivy Green by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more
  • Nothing Gold Can Stay - Stitched on Country Vintage Mocha Linen this is a trio of peaceful farm scenes - 4 x 4 and 4 x 7.
  • Give Your Heart: The Midwife's Sampler - The information about midwives and their history that Kelly supplies on her instructions is fascinating. She's included a plethora of symbolism around fertility and childbirth in a traditional sampler format, and goes on to explain the motifs and meanings. Coded for Sampler Threads this finishes approx 11 x 33 on 36ct.
  • The Ivy Green - Kind of a tribute to ivy vines! I like the brick pattern on the house, but especially the pattern in the grass! Coded for DMC, finishes 10 x 8 on 36ct.
The Road Home by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more Elmsett Sampler by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more A Wander Through the Cosford Rise by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more
  • The Road Home - Long and skinny, it's a path through the village on the way to market? Or a friends house? Or maybe home - like the title promises. Coded for hand-dyeds it measures 4 x 16 - perfect for a skinny wall!
  • Elmsett Sampler - LOVE this quaint village scene! And I think it's cool to have the buildings labeled in the grass! This is stitched with DMC and measures just 4-1/2 x 14 inches!
  • A Wander Through the Cosford Rise - Nine individual blocks (80 x 80 each) depicting life in the Rise... you get the barn, gorgeous flowers in the garden, the ships arriving in town from the sea, the hay harvest, farmer plowing, and even all the little farm creatures burrowed under-ground for the night. Just charming... I like to split this kind of design up into individual pin cushions for a bowl, or put them on different sides of a fabric cube, so you cannot see all at once... you have to play and turn or re-arrange to discover all the scenes.
Harlequin Halloween Pin Drum and Needle Turnip by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more Harlequin Halloween Smalls by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more
  • Harlequin Halloween Pin Drum and Needle Turnip - This is DARING! The cover pic shows only half the design - you get all three dancing charachters as well as that little ghost face to make the berry - which she calls a turnip! You actually get that entire turnip chart in the next chart below! 216 x 73, this finishes about 12 x 4 on 36ct - all handyeds.
  • Harlequin Halloween Smalls - Here's the whole turnip chart along three companion designs to the ones on the pin drum above. Misc fabrics and trims... these are retro-looking and charming!

Lead Us Not into Temptation by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more Love To Stitch Biscornu and Scissor Fob by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more Easy Peckings by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more The Shamrocks that Grow by Cosford Rise Stitchery - click for more
  • Lead Us Not into Temptation - Aren't these cute? Little birds to tantalize... each design is approx 60 x 90 - so 3 x 4-1/2 in finished size. Both cat and dog in this chart.
  • Love To Stitch Biscornu and Scissor Fob - This is a charming overall pattern covering your pin cushion. Scissors, spools, buttons, pins and needles, coded for Classic Colorworks hand-dyeds.
  • Easy Peckings - Super-fun patterned chickens! Nothing hard, just very eyecatching and crisp! Coded for DMC, they measure about 7-1/2 x 3-1/2 on 36ct - much smaller than they look in the pic!
  • The Shamrocks that Grow - This is a set of cute St Patrick's Day things... rainbows and shamrocks - and a blessing. 'May your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow, and may trouble avoid you wherever you go.'

The Months of Flower Baskets
All of these are done on 32ct Natural Belfast Linen - (36 or 40 will work as well) - they all measure about 100 x 40, and will finish 6 x 2-1/2 but even smaller on smaller fabrics.

Each one has a tiny 'extra' on it... September has a grasshopper, November has mushrooms, August has a peach, June has a bee, April has a bunny, and February has a bluebird bringing a Valentine. July has 11 flag options. Just very petite and pretty! What a stunning floral basket all these little cushions will make!
