Christmas Last Minute by Sara Guermani - click for more Christmas Last Minute
from Sara Guermani
One of 6 additions to our Sara Guermani page, this is super cute! Everyone has left all the Christmas chores till the 11th hour! The family Christmas tree is there in the car... BOTH the elves and Santa are doing their laundry with water heated on the fire! You can see everyone waiting around in their shorts! (Santa's are red polka dot, of course!) and... there are reindeer delivering wrapped packages on sleds.

Finishing about 17 inches square on 32ct... all of these in this series make into REALLY NICE substantial couch pillows. Festive decorations to bring out every year -- just for a special few weeks! Coded for DMC, but she's easy on you this time - only 19 shades!

Reproduction Samplers from Hands Across The Sea Samplers
Here are antique samplers -- all beautifully re-charted -- so we can enjoy them again, for years to come! Presented in full color leaflet format, these publications are ABSOLUTELY LOVELY! The paper is glossed and heavy, the charts are printed in full color, and there is a bit of history included in each about its particular sampler. After you read the descriptions, you gain a new appreciation for the content of each piece and it's historic significance.

If you can get one finished -- what a gorgeous heirloom you will have! Choose any fabrics you want -- they'll be YOUR samplers! Even if you don't stitch a single one of these -- these are so beautifully done!

Chipping Sparrow Biscornest from Crossed Wing Collection - click for more Chipping Sparrow Biscornest
from Crossed Wing Collection
A cute play on words here, Crossed Wing has designed a birds nest pattern, and then added the eggs over one thread! To make it even more realistic, she then finished it into a biscornu-shaped pin cushion -- so it actually resembles a nest!

Alongside that cushion, you'll see the bird stitched over one and finished into a scissor fob. For color and size reference, you'll recognize the little 3-1/2 inch blue Cotton Candy Scissors we have! Beautiful blues and browns of DMC in this, presented as a chart.

Noel de Souris from The Tralala Collection -- click to see more Noel de Souris from Tra La La
By Tra La La, this is a fun little Christmas piece that can be stitched together in its long row, or broken apart into single mice and trees. 4 Different mice and three different trees, the wrapped presents add some straight lines to this... but don't miss the tiny red-spotted mushrooms!!!!!

Stitch count on this is 191 x 81. You are on your own for color and fabric choices, and it might be fun to add Wisper or some other fuzzy thread to those mice!! Lots of options here!

Miss Lucy Calcutt 1825 from Just Stitching Along - click to see more

Miss Lucy Calcutt 1825
from Just Stitching Along
This is a STUNNING reproduction of a sampler stitched in 1825. Finishing approx 15 x 22 on 36ct, the chart is coded for DMC or silk threads. The colors in this are beautiful!!!! Rich reds and greens, the border is pretty and balanced.

All the interior pots and vines are organized and all lined up neatly. The red house anchors everything down at the bottom... and notice how those motifs are centered above it?

Dance Forever By Madame Chantilly from Madame Chantilly Dance Forever from Madame Chantilly
This is a charming design for a special little dancer in your life! By Madame Chantilly, this chart offers several different little mice all dressed up in their pink ballet finery!

Cute vines on the swing, a pretty set of shoes, there are several ways you can stitch this... and the cover pic previews several clever finishing options. The entire picture measures 209 x 102, but the individual mice are just 52 x 61! Just precious, it is coded for DMC.

A Trio of Designs by Fairy Wool in the Wood!
This are some fun little designs we picked up at Market a couple of weeks ago. All three are charts. None of them go together or anything... they're just cute!
  • Mermaid and Sailor comes with a silver-tone starfish charm. Coded for DMC and stitched on 32ct Country Vintage Mocha linen, the blue panel at the bottom needs to be Weeks hand-dyed wool! Deep Sea or Dungarees come to mind -- it shows off that charm. Finishes 5 x 5, wouldn't this make a fun wedding announcement... especially if you had a destination wedding on a beach somewhere! Could be lace from the dress....
  • My Craft Room comes with a tiny key charm. The key to lock up that room full of treasures more precious than gold! Maybe let some of the lace go, but this is worked on 32ct Country Vintage Mocha coded for Sampler Threads or DMC. Just 5-1/2 x 3.
  • Happy Easter is worked on the 32ct natural/white polka dot linen. The dots are already on the fabric. There are some oval egg buttons on here -- they are not in the chart, and we don't have any. (Just ignore those and do not fall in love with them, because you can't have them!) The rest of this is darling, and little rabbit might be fun stitched with Rainbow Gallery's Wisper!

Granny is No Square from Carolyn Manning Designs - click to see more Eggz from Carolyn Manning Designs - click to see more The Secret Summer Garden Labyrinth from Carolyn Manning Designs - click to see more
New from Carolyn Manning
We have four new designs right now... here are three of them that catch my eye!
  • Granny is No Square -- Talk about repetitive motifs! This is a way to use fun colors!!!! The stitch count of this is 228 x 224 -- solid stitching -- and it finishes approx 16 inches on 14/28ct. You'll know right away if you've mis-counted in this one! 42 Different DMC shades -- multiple skeins of a few of them.
  • Eggz -- We think this would be cute for next Easter. I think just the individual eggs would be pretty nestled in a basket of grass and candy! They are only 22 x 16!
  • The Secret Summer Garden Labyrinth - Another of Carolyn's wild patches of borders... this one is a super-colorful explosion of TINY stylized flower shapes and assorted bugs! Stitch count is 210 square -- so it'll finish a very busy 13 inches on 32ct.

Paradise Street from Lilli Violette - click to see more Christmas in the Woods from Lilli Violette - click to see more Christmas in the Woods and Paradise Street!
from Le Temps Une Croix
  • Christmas in the Woods - This is a chart of a lovely evergreen tree decorated for Christmas. It is tipped in snow, and there are snowflake stitches scattered in the background, and snow under the gifts, so I think this is a little tree in the woods! Coded for DMC, it measures 145 x 133 in stitch count, so will finish approx 8 x 9 on 16/32ct. The little bits of instructions are printed in French, so I cannot read a word of it... but I can tell it's charming! Presented as a chart.
  • Paradise Street - This is a charming little french design -- a perky red scooter parked in front of an apartment??? I don't know exactly! I just love the simplicity of the design, the bold of the red against the clean gray and taupe. I like the stylized tree, the repeating round cobblestones... the tiny red dotted flowers... the talllll windows and the talllll lamp post! The chart is actually quite large -- it measures 187 x 167 -- so 12 x 13 on 14ct!

This month's small card installment in this cute 12-part piece features a little kitty dressed up as the Easter Bunny! His tiny chick-buddy is standing by... which would never happen if this was a normal kitty!!

Part of a set of whimsical animals that would be cute in a child's bedroom, this finishes approx 3 x 4.

Bord de Mer from Madame la Fee - click to see more Oscar (The Teddy Bear) from Madame la Fee - click to see more Oscar (The Teddy Bear) & Bord de Mer
from Madame La Fee
We have two new designs by Madame la Fee. Presented in charts, each measures approx 190 stitches square, so they finish about 12 x 12 on 32ct. Always charming, her things all feature kind of a 'block format' so they make into very attractive 'medley' designs. I especially like that teddy bear one for a baby's room.

Even though they are coded for DMC, you COULD stitch that bear in a little of Gentle Art's Simply Wool! AND... you COULD add metallics to that Ocean-y one!!! We know the prices on these are kind of high... I cannot control that... ... but I do know that they are charming when they are stitched!!!!!

Stitcher Sewing Sampler from Nikyscreations
Stitcher Sewing Sampler
from Niky'sCreations
Nikyscreations has several new charts... I thought this one was pretty darn cute, and the picture is good! Charted for regular DMC floss, it measures 100 stitches square.

If you do this over one on 28ct Mushroom Lugana (like the With Thy Needle Abcedarian Schoolhouse Series), it'll finish LESS THAN 4 inches in size and make a darling pin cushion!!!!! Niky has a lot of cute things... take a look on the interior pages and see what you like!

Beth's 4th chart in this series is here -- celebrating little buzzing bees! This is a delightful set of VERY SMALL designs meant to be finished into miniature pin cushions or fobs. (Since you probably don't have that many scissors for all of these... mini-cushions are probably the way to go!)

Worked on Weeks 36ct Parchment (or really any fabrics you want) you can use a variety of trims and make them into lots of different shapes. This chart features 9 different designs that Beth has finished into berries, rounds, squares, and even a tiny velvet-topped acorn! Joins Stitcher, Valentine and Springtime Festive Fobs so far!

  • 1726 Garden Pinkeep is a limited release kit from the recent Nashville trade show. It includes and features Lakeside Linens 36ct hand-dyed fabric and Gentle Art Sampler Threads.

The kit includes the hand-dyed wool and ribbon to make the backside 'flower' treatment, as well as that antique-y black and taupe finishing fabric. The left edge also features some tone-on-tone Eyelets and Satins!
  • Ann Wright's 1726 Pinkeep Drum Kit is finished into a charming little cylinder -- a drum shape. It is another Nashville Market Exclusive kit as well! This kit comes with the 36ct Weeks Beige hand-dyed linen, a cut of gorgeous hand-dyed velveteen for the strawberry, along with green hand-dyed wool for it's topper. Flosses are Weeks -- gorgeous rich shades of denim, burgundy and greens. You get the trimming buttons shown on the model and the denim and tan finishing fabric. Its design is a small take-out from Ann Wright's large sampler -- which we have on SNF's interior pages!!! CHARMING!

April Showers bring May Flowers... and it looks like our little tin bucket planter is sprouting lots of young flower buds! The 4 x 4-ish design is stitched on 18ct linen -- over two, so it's really 9 ct! I chose Weeks Dye Works hand-dyed Pearl Cottons for bucket and stems. We are featuring the new JABCO Sprinkles as the flower buds!

Your kit contains all the threads and linen and about 35 of the tiny hand-dyed Sprinkle buttons. Mona made a little standing easel for this -- easy to tuck away each year. Her finishing kit is offered separately in case you need one.

Christmas Quilts from Rosewood Manor - click for more Christmas Quilts

Time to get started on this one if you want it for next Christmas! Rosewood Manor's newest piece, this measures 298 x 159 in stitch count and will finish approx 19 x 10 on 32ct. Worked in Weeks Dye Works hand-dyed flosses, it uses Rainbow Gallery's Petite Treasure Braid for it's metallic gold accents.

Karen has lots of smaller designs in here that will make pretty ornaments -- just in case you don't have enough stitching hours in the day to get this entire thing finished! Deep and rich colors, it is very eye-catching!

Gingerbread Flower Shop from The Victoria Sampler - click for more Gingerbread Flower Shop -- #10 in the Gingerbread Christmas Village Series
from The Victoria Sampler
Victoria Sampler has another charming stitched gingerbread house pattern... this one is a little simpler in construction than some of the others... but just as cute. Offered this time as a COMPLETE TEACHING KIT of chart, all the threads (silks, perles, ribbons, cottons), embellishments (tons of beads and buttons), both fabrics -- the hand-dyed Gingerbread 28ct and Dark Teal Green Cashel linen and layouts for stitching and cutting. Along with all this, Thea has a YouTube channel you will be invited to join where you can participate in the 'class' and stitch-along! Joins the Tree, Stitching House, Church, Candy Cane Cottage, Bakery, Haunted House, Needlework Shop, Quilt Shop, and Retreat Cottage.

She describes her new Flower Shop as 'positively European with its striped awnings and colorful floral display in front of the shop.' Along with the potted Christmas Tree and the shopkeeper bringing out a flat of forget-me-nots, there are more staffers planting out back. Lots of specialty stitches (the silk ribbons do well in the flowers!), each side of the shop is different. The entire building finishes approx 5 x 7 in size. The price is 'a little infortunate' this time around... I guess it's the addition of the fabrics and the whole stitch-along thing... but this IS cute, and worth a look!

Hannah Gilpin 1800 from Stitchy Box - click to see more Hannah Gilpin 1800
from Stitchy Box
An Ackworth School Sampler, this was originally stitched in 1800! Gorgeous meandering floral vines are surrounded by organized Quaker motifs. The alphabet is taking lessons from the flowers, so it's all over the place -- even upside down!

Presented as a chart, it is coded for multiple skeins of only 5 DMC colors -- 7709, 3864, 841, 3861 and 3860. Change those if you like to some pretty hand-dyeds, and distress the fabric to give this a little age. The stitch count is 282 x 286 -- so it finishes approx 18 inches square on 32ct.

I love this kind of books. This one highlights 100 different sampler motifs -- organized by their most prominent feature like birds, stars, etc. We've lost the names for many of them, and typically most are shown only in half or quarter version on samplers... but here you get the 'whole enchilada!'

No color key to complicate, and just one motif per page... it's simply fun to page through, and imagine that I will stitch them all someday! 100 Pages, spiral bound, 7 x 8-1/2 inches in overall size.

Garden Vegetables
from Kathy Barrick
What a fun piece to stitch for a farmhouse kitchen! Measuring 300 x 251, this will finish approx 19 x 16 on 32ct.

Coded for silk or DMC, it has so many fun design elements. The two side panels, all the repetitive charting in the center, not to mention the useful gardening information! (I just don't know what growing zone it references... so if you care... check into that!) Presented as a chart, this is charming!

The Annual Set of Fall Button & Bead Kits from Mill Hill
Here is this year's set of these charming 5 x 5 beaded and stitched designs! This year, we have some different designs... the Wanda'a Wands shop features glow-in-the-dark thread! All presented as complete kits of chart, DMC flosses, needles, Mill Hill glass beads and a button for garnish, along with a cut of 14ct perforated paper.

We love to stitch these on either 28ct linen or 14ct aida and then stuff them into little hanging pillow, but they are also REALLY nice simply stitched on the paper and framed. (Mill Hill frames specified on the back of the kits can be special ordered... but we've seen some custom framed and they are drop-dead gorgeous!)

from Little House Needleworks
Here's a 'blast-from-the-past!' One of Little House's Limited Edition kits from 2011 has re-surfaced for a short while! (I think the distributor did some cleaning somewhere and came up with this little treasure. We've had a shop model for years that I couldn't part with, because I thought it was so cute!)

Fresh From The Garden is the sampler chart, but ALONG WITH IT COMES THE PRESEWN SEWING CASE AND TOMATO CUSHION! Stitch the framed piece on 32ct Weeks Straw Linen, it finishes approx 4 x 9-1/2. OR... stitch the cute needlebook pocket design, that stitching finishes approx 5-1/2 inches square. Then, simply turn under the edges and attach it to the sewing case (THAT IS ALREADY MADE!), and you're finished! The open case in our pic measures 6 x 12, the tomato is about 4 x 1. TOO DARN CUTE!

Anyway, the chart comes with the set of Classic Colorworks flosses called for, AND that fabric case sewn by Impie Hattie & Bea. Don't wait too long on grabbing one of these... I have no idea how many they found... but probably not too many!

Unique New Things from Shannon Christine Designs
Snow Globes for Christmas
Here's a fun trio of charts with a Farmhouse feel for Christmas. Little snowglobes inside of mason canning jars! By Shannon Christine, each is charted for DMC floss and uses a bit of metallic for accents. Choose a light gray or natural color of fabric (your choice) so that the white snow shows up. Truck measures 70 x 68 (5 x 5 on 14/28ct.), Deer is 70 x 88, and sleigh is the largest at 94 x 56. These would make cute stand-up cubes.

Midnight Sail
This is an interesting design... is it worked on a white background, you filling in all that gray and black? The cover picture looks like it, but the inside chart shows a gray background with white filled in. I think YOU can choose! The rolling waves are the color in here... a super-fun paisley/flowery look to them. Finishes 93 x 93 in stitch count -- so about 6 x 6 on 14/28ct.

A pair of smaller designs -- new by Ink Circles -- I think they'd both be neat in a cabin retreat somewhere! Each is offered in chart format.
  • Three Little Kittens who lost their mittens get the pie after all, because what was once lost is found again! Actually kind of sizeable -- 8 x 10 on 28ct -- this is coded for Classic Colorworks or DMC. It'd make a cute hanging above the peg rack that holds the mittens and coats in the mudroom.
  • Red's Tree House is just a cute little tree house made of ACORN shingles! Can you see them in the design? It's tucked in an oak tree, the light fixture outside the door is an acorn. The window in the front door is an acorn... then LOOK at the shape of the shake shingles! Finishes just 3-1/2 x 5 on 32ct... Gentle Art Sampler Threads or DMC.

Cute and very vintage, decorate each with old ribbons and buttons... The smaller ANIMAL CRACKER CRUMBS are the little faces and they're all around 3 inches in size.
How fun to tuck a couple of them into your ever-growing basket of stitched pin cushions???? Then add a couple of the standing ones in there too! Stacy has plain fabrics on the backs with a pouch to hold scissors, and you can see that Theodore is wearing a little thimble pouch as well! Such a neat set we have now!!!!

When it gets too much, Cloverly hops up to her quiet attic retreat where she sits on her pretty flower rug to watch the sunlight dance through the stained glass windows! You'll find those 9 mischieveious bunnies on all sides of the bungalow, as well as flower garlands, bees, carrot pots (what else would Cloverly be growing?), and interested butterflies.

Pretty wrought iron fencing around the garden... even the door handle is a little CARROT! Cloverly's dress has a clover border and long-stemmed rose in the back. She has a fluffy tail and holds a pink rosebud from her garden. Along with the charts and stitch guide, the embellishments include ribbon, pink felt. carboard house pieces, beads, pompom tail, Nan's signature mouse button base, and rosebud. Coded for DMC. You can join two or three of them together and just do an abbreviated version of the whole harbor... or you can still join our auto-ship, catching up on the first five parts and do the whole thing!

When you are finished, it'll be 5 x 42 on 32ct... or smaller/bigger depending on the fabric YOU choose! It is so colorful. There are lots of solid areas in it as well, so while there is tons of design appeal and detail, the stitching is really pretty easy on you!

Two other stitched patterns are included in the chart. Chart comes with set of buttons and pattern for bottle cover. The felt packet contains JUST the felt needed for the cover construction. These really are cute!

Wow... this is a really touching design idea. Use an old shirt or pair of jeans from someone you love... and stitch a memory. *This is a shirt I used to wear, when you see it, know I'm there.*

My Dad used to wear those wool plaid shirts like the one in the pic... I don't need to say any more! Presented as a single card chart, each design is small. Match threads to your garment fabric... just such a neat idea!!!

from Long Dog Samplers
This is another of Long Dog's involved tapestry-like samplers! Stitched on anything light colored -- you can stitch all the black. (Or be NUTS and stitch the whole thing on black and fill in the white!)

Full of gorgeous motifs, the entire stitch count is 197 x 282 -- so it finishes approx 11 x 15-1/2 on 36ct. It's charted for DMC or Gentle Art Sampler Threads. The cover image is digital, so you do not see the hand-dyed effects on here... but I imagine they would be stunning!

VERY detailed... PuntiniPuntini offers matching sets of pins and buttons. Directly from Italy, these super-intricate polymer clay buttons and pins are incredible! Actual piece counts vary on each set, but ALL ARE SPECTACULAR. Pin tops average 1/4 to less than 1/2 an inch in size, buttons are slightly larger --- but not much, most are about 1/2 an inch.

We have Christmas, Vegetables, Sewing, Deserts, Farm Animals -- 17 different sets in all so far! I don't know how you can choose a favorite... I couldn't... so I bought them ALL! I've chosen three sets to highlight here; MAKE SURE to see the rest! (We can't believe the prices in these either... even if I COULD make these... mine would be twice the price!)

Patriotic Shaker Box Set & School Days
from The Scarlett House
The Scarlett House has 7 new releases... I thought these two were charming to show on Just Arrived... all the rest are tucked on Tanya's inside page. Presented as charts, both of these patterns feature multiple small pieces to finish and tuck into a box of some sort.
  • Patriotic Shaker has a pretty pin cushion, topper and fob... you CAN finish the flag basket as the cushion and row houses as the box topper -- depends on your box! I like the stars and stripes roofs on them! Weeks and Gentle Art's hand-dyed flosses, with Lady Dot trims.
  • School Days features two different fabrics -- makes it a really cute set! The schoolhouse threadkeep board and fob are worked on 28ct Gingham, the chalkboard on 28 black (but it's over ONE thread -- so be aware!). That little fob is kind of a 'mattress' shape and is trimmed with Lady Dot's miniature Birds Nest Rik Rak. As for the cool lunch box... go to Goodwill and find something. Hit it on a few things to bang it up just a little...sand it some, leave it out in your yard -- preferably a muddy corner or under a bush somewhere -- let it see some weather, and VOILA! You will have aged it perfectly!

This entire collection is made from copper, nickel and brass, each features a super-strong rare-earth magnet to keep it where you put it. (They drive us NUTS because we have them all hanging on our button wall, and the magnets are so powerful that they all SHOOT TOGETHER in an instant and cling to each other for dear life! Then when you try to separate them... they just jump to the neighbor on their other side! So, really, they don't stay were you out them!!! HA!) Remember that flier we send you every year around the end of January about the Japanese holiday that celebrates the hard work of NEEDLES? Teresa did this sampler to kind of commemorate that holiday! The Festival of Broken Needles!

Theresa's sampler is charming! Stitched on hand-dyed linen, it provides a place for you to park broken, rusted or old needles... you can even leave threads in them from special projects. (What about finding Mom's needles still threaded... you could preserve some of them here.) *Here lies my needles, some bent, some broken some rusty.* Finishing approx 11 x 8, stitched with hand-dyed flosses, garnish this with antique buttons. The bottom area is a cut of Weeks Dye Works Red Pear Houndstooth wool.. isn't it pretty on there? Really a special piece for a stitcher. Presented as a chart.

Oh my gosh... you might remember this one... Teresa started with two parts of her eight, part three is now here! Each part is presented as a separate chart... this entire sampler is going to finish something like 4 FEET long on 32ct -- 170 x 810! Stitched on Picture This Plus's 36ct Wren... you'll need a half-yard cut. Shown here are parts 1, 2 and 3.

Part One: Alphabet -- well, an alphabet!
Part Two: Adam & Eve -- pretty classic as far as samplers go!
Part Three: Noah's Ark. I don't think any of the rest of the parts will be biblical... we asked!
Anyway, we HAD an auto for this... long ago cancelled that. SO... if you want to re-collect this lovely piece via Auto -- let us know!

Letters from Mom from Jeannette Douglas
But these can be Letters from ANYONE! Jeannette Douglas is beginning a lovely collection of small samplers -- all about 3 x 5-1/2 in size. They are sentiments inspired by thoughts she wanted to pass along to her daughter right after she left for school. The small samplers will surround this main center panel you see on the cover of the first design. Letters from Mom could read 'letters from Nana' or any other special someone you want to remember.

For the next 12 months, Jeannette will release small sampler charts 3 at a time -- something appropriate for its season -- with a bit of Cottage Garden hand-dyed thread included. You'll need the rest of the flosses from your stash. She's described each month's design thoughts in this main packet, and they are just heartwarming. You can finish this project by making this first design into a fabric envelope and storing all the mini-samplers inside the envelope, or join them all together in the lovely main sampler. Stitched on 36 Platinum Linen, the entire piece will measure 17 x 17. VERY pretty! I think the smaller monthly charts begin shipping this May.

from Jeannette Douglas
Here are a pair of charming designs straight from Jeannette's imagination!!! Both are offered as charts with thread and embellishment packs and wool felt finishing packets. Basically complete kits minus the linen. Each consists of the main sampler -- approx 4 x 6 on 32ct, along with three smalls that are under 2 inches each. You can stitch it all and simply frame the sampler and tuck the smalls nearby, or get that awesome little wooden tray shown on the cover to store everything.

Each pattern comes as several pages of charts full of fun, specialty stitches, and lots of assembly instructions. The thread packs are full of exotic hand-dyeds of silks, metallics and cottons, along with cute little trinkety charms, beads, and buttons. Jeannette chooses the neatest things to tuck into those packs!
Journey deals with traveling and features warm burgundy, teal. purple and green colors, stitched on 32ct Flax linen.
Mermaid is worked on 32ct Star Sapphire and features aqua, coral, lavender and sea greens. Its wool packet comes with that little fish pin and the thread packet includes shells, a seahorse and even a few fresh water pearls.
DELIGHTFUL SETS!!!!! Click to visit our inside pages, we have a TRAY TOWER to display these cute projects!

Here we go... click the pics to see them all! Some are presented as individual charts, others are grouped together -- 4 designs in one set.

(NOTE: Not all of the charts are named(!) or numbered(!) so I had to kind of make up names to tell hem apart. Chart #1801 has a truck in it, but campers as well, so we chose the word TRUCK to identify it from the others.)

Well, just like her companioning Halloween Quakers chart... we aren't even sure The Quakers CELEBRATED Christmas... but we think they should have! Lila's studio has another awesome sampler full of fun motifs.

There are snowmen inside one motif, mittens in another. Santa's boots are down there too. Stitched on a mangy Dapple Gray PTP fabric (or anything you want!), this is coded for Gentle Art Sampler threads or DMC, and it finishes approx 13 x 9.

Stoneware Snowman from Priscilla's Pocket Stoneware Snowman
from Priscilla's Pocket
Priscilla's Pocket did another little blue design -- A Snowman -- for this year. The other three -- bunny, kitten and cat are just as bitty and just as cute. Little bonuses to complement her lovely stoneware patterns, this comes as a small kit of 32ct Tin Roof Weeks Linen with Gentle Art's Black Raspberry Jam hand-dyed floss and enough of Dames of the Needle's blue ball trim to edge your little cushion.

Just cute... last year, they showed the little bunny stitched in several different pastel shades of floss... pink, yellow, mint green, lavender. Just find the ball trim first, then floss to match! So cute!

Crushed Walnut Shells - click for more Crushed Walnut Shells
This is what everyone loves to stuff pin cushions with these days... crushed walnut shells... also known as LIZZARD LITTER! 100% Unscented and sanitized crushed walnut shells, they actually do sell this stuff in big bags in pet stores as liner for small animal cages. We have 12 oz bags of it, (approx 2-1/3 C) which will generally fill two or maybe three 4 x 4-ish pin cushions. (depends on how full you want them.)

It makes your fobs and pillows 'heavy to the touch' so they feel really good. It gives them a little relaxed weight. It is ground large enough so that it doesn't 'leak' out of seams. So... visit the pet store for a lifetime supply, or just get a bag or two of this... *enough is as a feast*

Another lovely issue of thus BOOK has released... I hardly can call it a magazine because that brings to mind trashy make-up and weight loss ads, and recipes using hot dogs in 5 minutes! THIS is truly a beautiful publication full of creative original designs for cross stitch and punch needle embroidery. The pages are glossy and heavyweight. The pictures are dreamy, the projects are all laid out in 2 to 4-page spreads.

There are like 2 pages of ads -- even those are pretty -- AND if there was a recipe in here... I'D MAKE IT because I am sure it would be wonderful! I cannot say enough nice things about this publication. We carry all the back issues... so get one or two from us if you aren't sure you want to subscribe. (But subscribing will be such a treat!) This is one of my favorite finds from Market. Beth Ann Seal has taken a beautiful antique sampler and created three smaller pieces from it. A smaller framed sampler, a little two-sided needle mattress, and the best... a wooden darner pin cushion! All three designs are presented in her new leaflet, and for a LIMITED time, we will have the finishing materials kit available to make the wooden darner piece.

The designs are all worked on creamy linens with silks or DMC. That little darner is a 30 x 30 design worked on 32ct. It becomes a pin cushion topper on the 4 x 1-1/2 inch wood handle piece. The darner finishing kit includes the wood, homespun trim fabric you see in the pic, the rik rak, beads, and tiny bee charms. It is the CUTEST because you can actually POKE this little guy down into your basket that has a bunch of other cushions already nestled in it! OR... it can lie beside a sampler in just a most relaxed way. Such a neat finishing treatment... I really like it!

Tuxedo Cat and ButterFly both finish a smaller 3 x 3, she has included pin backs in these in case you want to wear them as pins or garnish a tote bag. They'd do nicely as magnets too.

Sounds like a yummy breakfast meal is coming our way, but it's just a new set of pin cushion designs by Hands On Design! Cathy is doing a 6-chart set of super-cute drum and matching square projects. Oh Say Can You Sea is the first. You can see just part of the whole design -- that cute submarine floating by amidst the crabs and seaweed. She has the drum design printed on the chart's cover, so if you want to frame it instead, you can see how cute the entire stitched design is.

The round cushion -- the drum -- the SHORT STACK -- measures about 4 inches in diameter and 2-1/2 inches high stitched on 32ct. It is trimmed with Lady Dot chenille and topped with the coordinating velvet. The rectangular cushion -- the FLAP JACK -- measures about 3 x 4. Presented as charts in her small card format, each design measures 45 x 45 in stitch count -- so on 32ct, they finish less than 3 x 3. (Remember that you probably have a MILLION smaller designs that size... so this beautiful little bowl will work for those as well!)

Heart in Hand has finishing instructions on her website to make the disc lids for Heartware -- they don't wiggle around -- so you'll want to take a look at that. Anyway, CHARMING CHARMING little bowl, with the possibility of a million cute designs for the top!!!

How Wonderful Life is... from Heart in Hand
*Now that you are in the world!* What a CUTE birth announcement... or maybe just something fun for a daycare or classroom? ...or a bedroom... you get the idea!

One of Heart in Hand's newest designs, this measures a nifty 27 x 3 inches on 28ct! (or 14.) Stitched with DMCs or various hand-dyed flosses, cute little flora and fauna are scattered along the verse. Cecelia has included the set of tiny wooden buttons -- 6 of them -- they are laser-cut flowers, a bird and a heart -- you can see them in the pic. Such a happy sentiment, it makes you smile!

Cecelia has several other new things... I have them tucked on the HIH Main page and her Wee Ones page - click through to see them all!

New Offerings from Silver Creek Samplers
Diane has 3 new charts full of her rambling words all interrupted with cute design elements!
  • Coastal Cola -- Refreshing... Sip & Sea! Fun for a kitchen or bar area... or that gorgeous beach house I wish I had! Stitched on a light blue 7 x 7 on 28ct.
  • Dorothy's Discovery -- Advice for life... It's in your heart... not your shoes! (But sometimes shoes make you feel better....!) A lovely motivational piece! 11 x 5 n 28ct.
  • My A B Seas -- I kind of just like the crab holding the umbrella by the crashing waves! I think he's trying to stay dry! 4 x 4-ish on 32ct.

Paulette Stewart of Plum Street Samplers has 7 new designs!
See if there are any that charm their way into your stitching stash!

Plum Street Samplers Bovinia - click for more Plum Street Samplers Woolemina - click for more Plum Street Samplers The Milk & Cream Co - click for more
We think she's into COWS these days!
  • Bovinia -- She is grazing in her glorious field! Only 86 x 61 in stitch count... put her on 25ct Lugana over one and she'd make a 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 pin cushion! Pretty pinks and greens of classic Colorworks hand-dyed flosses.
  • Woolemina -- A framed tart design from Paulette's Sweet Shoppe Series, it measures just 70 x 74 stitches. Not a cow like the other two, we love her colors of DMC and classic Colorworks in here!!! This would make a charming round cushion too.
  • The Milk & Cream Co -- Back to cows! These are festive -- each has his own Quaker motif coat. Then trees are fun -- each has swirls for the greenery. Even the scalloped hills are charming, and super-high in pattern repeat like the flowers. 123 x 127 -- about 7 x 7 on 18/36ct. Eye-catching!

Plum Street Samplers Noah's Christmas Ark 2-- Doves and Honeybees - click for more Noah's Christmas Ark II from Plum Street Samplers
The second chart in Paulette's 6-chart set of animal ornaments -- these measure just 2-1/2 x 3-1/2 on 18/36ct -- so actually small enough to BE ornaments! Get a fat quarter of linen to do your whole set, or use different shades for each -- it doesn't matter.

Just something sweet and simple, they might be really fun made into little blocks instead, to make a few little stacks! We have an auto-ship for this small set that releases every other month... in case you want them all.

Plum Street Samplers Babushka's Bees - click for more Plum Street Samplers Pennsylvania Fraktur - click for more Pennsylvania Fraktur & Babushka's Bees from Plum Street Samplers
  • Pennsylvania Fraktur reminds me of Paulette's set of 4 seasons that we already have. Same flowing vine style, same shape... this one uses Bullfrog, Old Red Paint, Charcoal, Sanguine, Maple Syrup. Hazelnut and Mulberry hand-dyeds -- pretty cinnamon reds and that warm olive green. Finishes 7 x 3-1/2 on 18or 36ct.
  • Babushka's Bees -- Here she is in the Spring and Summer, instead of in her pumpkin patch in the Fall. Lots of bee hives all over that feature patterned stitching on them, all the little flying bees are so cute! I know you can't really see them from the picture, but they all have little feet, wings and stingers! All the dangling vines add pink and green details... this finishes approx 8 x 4-1/2 and is stitched using Classic and Weeks hand-dyed flosses.

A Hundred Ways and Soul Sisters
from Plum Street Samplers
Friendship and Love... A matching set of designs with a neat shape and simple, bold font.

A Hundred Ways could be a wedding announcement.
Soul Sisters could be a really neat gift for a friend.

I think you could make that one into a two-sided pin cushion -- each half is 60 x 70 -- so it could be a 3 x 4 cushion... or you could even stitch the floral band 4 times and make a little mattress out of it!

Fraktur Scissor Block from La-D-Da -- click to see a larger view Lori's Fraktur Scissor Block and Fob Kit
This is REALLY a charming little scissor holder... it begins very humbly as a plain 2 x 2 x 2 wooden cube with the scissor hole already drilled in it. You paint it with acrylic paint and might want to sand and distress it alittle. NEXT, you select 5 gorgeous antique print pics from those Lori has included in the kit -- there are 20 in here to choose from. Cut e'm out, glue 'em on.  Seal with Modge Podge and your finished!

THEN... find 3 more little blocks ... cause you have enough images left to make THREE MORE cubes! Kit includes the wood, images, felt and ribbon for fob and instructions. Scissors not included.

Lori Markovic has some unique designs releasing this next week at Market! (We'll have them Tuesday, March 6th.) Can't wait to see the real things stitched - in person -- at the show!
  • Love Abide -- Pretty Welcoming Sampler -- maybe for your front hall? Chart. 254 x 243 on 36ct (14 inches square), looks like you have good fabric options with this one!
  • Awake My Soul -- 'and sing'. Chart... more pretty hand-dyed colors, this one would make a pretty pillow without the wording...
  • B is for Bunny -- Chart, this one looks cheerful and bold! 171 x 115 -- so 9-1/2 x 6-ish on 18/36ct... I'm sure she's not going to do the whole alphabet... so just enjoy B!
  • Sweet Pea -- This is a FAVORITE so far! Companion Lori's little standing bunny from last spring, Sweet Pea will stand about 6 inches high stitched on 32ct.
  • The Fetishes -- This is a set of 4 small designs, 100 x 100 stitches. Patterned after different types of samplers, Lori thinks she'll do a set of 12 of these!
  • Fraktur Scissor Block and Fob Kit -- This is a limited edition wooden block -- you paint and paper it (with Lori's pretty paper) -- with a storage hole for a pretty pair of scissors. Approx 2 inches in size. The unpainted wooden block comes with a set of 28 different sampler image prints. You choose any 5 or 6 to glue to your painted block, do the Mod-Podge in a matte finish... and you're finished! Literally, no two blocks will be alike! Really a charming little block!

This is an awesome little lamp! Fairly new to the Daylight Company's Line, we have them in stock and really like the features. It's a little table lamp -- weighing LESS THAN 1-1/2 pounds. It folds FLAT -- 1-1/2 inches thick by 13 inches long. It fits in your TOTE BAG! (or between your clothes in your suitcase)

It unfolds into a really nice sized (!) table lamp -- the 12-inch arm tilts, the lens and bulb top tilts AND rotates, and there is a protective cover over the lens. It has three daylight-balanced LED light levels -- meaning it dims -- with the touch of your finger. 6-inch low-profile base, that lens is 3-1/2 inches in diameter with a 5 diopter magnification (most of the lamps on the market are only 3.) You do need electricity to use it... no rechargeable battery system inside. It's clean, it's white, it looks nice, it's SO portable, we are very impressed! Comes in a little box -- 6 x 15 x 2 -- we can Priority Mail this baby for the 2-pound rate!!!

ABC de la Brodeuse
from Jardin Prive'
This is an over-the-top cute needleworker's alphabet by Nathalie Cichon of Jarden Prive. With a stitch count of 76 x 565, this will finish a whopping 5-1/2 x 40-1/2 on 14/28... all the way down to 2-1/2 x 20 over one on 28ct! You choose your fabric of choice to make this YOURS! It would be awesome to split it all up and make a ton of pin cushions... there are a bunch of little motifs and borders all through this.

Charted for regular DMC floss, you could add hand-dyeds, buttons, beads, charms... anything you want. Just such a fun piece for a stitcher... hang it beside the door to your stitching lair!

Learn Little Maid by Brenda Keyes -- click to see a larger view! I Went to Church Sampler by Brenda Keyes -- click to see a larger view! Two New Samplers
from Brenda Keyes of The Sampler Company
A pair of samplers has arrived and each is charming. Stitched over one or two threads, they are coded for regular DMC floss. Each suggests just a basic cream fabric, you can always distress after stitching, or choose something hand-dyed.
  • I Went to Church Sampler - This is so fun! It is the ultimate test as to whether or not people actually READ the verses on your stitched pieces! This one reads:
I went to church on Sunday. My love, she passed me by. I knew her mind was changing by the roving of her eye.
Now, THAT'S a different verse for a sampler!!!! Stitch count is 235 x 203 - so over one on 28ct, it would be 8-1/2 inches in size... over two it's 17. A balanced border and pretty church scene... it 'looks' just nice and serene!
  • Learn Little Maid - 'Learn little maid each useful art that may adorn thy youth, Learn to improve thy tender heart in virtue, grace and truth.'
THIS is a more traditional verse than that poor guy's story - the one who got dumped at church!!!!! This one measures 303 stitches square - or a whopping 19 inches square on 32ct. Stitched with DMC, the border is simple, and the alphabet is blocky... but the dividing bands are very pretty, and the house is gorgeous! (I like the inside border around that little mansion... it matches the florals down at the bottom corners.) Really striking!
