AAH NUTS! from Trail Creek Farm
Susan Ebright of Trail Creek Farm has outdone herself this season with a *classy* acorn-shaped pillow design! One of her 'Plumpers'... she has created the entire pillow -- a 'hand-made, ready-made' acorn that measures approx 13 high x 13 wide x 6 plump -- even before the stem and bow top treatments. Topper fabric (acorn cap) is a milk chocolate tweed fabric,
acorn bottom is a plaid medley of taupe, coffee, brick and teal. Next, comes the lavish bow and raffia -- its already tied for you! The featured design -- AAH NUTS! is stitched on 30ct hand-dyed Weeks linen. Susan has hand-screened some very subtle letters on the linen... can you see them in the photo? THEN... you stitch the cute sayings and scattered motifs
everywhere -- again using overdyed flosses -- tiny acorns and squirrels
galore! The colors are luscious -- reflecting all the colors of the plaid
below. Then, turn under edges, iron a bit of interfacing of you want to,
and attach using the 4 fabric-covered buttons provided in the kit! The stitched area measures approx 4-1/2 x 5-1/2... nothing that will take you any time at all to complete! Complete kit contains your acorn pillow, the hand-screened linen, chart, covered buttons and the yummy bow! One of Trail Creek Farm's best, I think! |
Simply Autumn from Homespun ElegancePumpkins and Crows decorate the scenery on this 11 x 5 pillow, stitched on 10ct Country Mocha Vintage Tula. Worked in a combination of Weeks and Crescent hand-dyed flosses, Homespun Elegance's fall colors are always deep and rich. Garnished with three Olde Brass Buttons, this is a quick stitch, because the areas are large, and your overdyed flosses do the work of color changes for you!
The acorn tops are stitched in Colonial Knots... but you could always cross them instead, and even add some brass acorn buttons over the stitching! Offered as the chart; buttons -- a Star Pumpkin, Squirrel and Star -- are separate. |
Murky Manor from Glendon Place
This is quite the busy 'party-house'... all decked out for Halloween! By Glendon Place, Murky Manor finishes a whopping 12 x 13 inches, and is stitched in 47 shades of DMC with touches of metallics and beads. The
colors are bright and bold, and the general activity of the house is
charming!
See the skulls on the fence posts? You can either stitch them, or use Just Another Button company's skull buttons!!! Very festive!
Check out Cheryl's other new design, Monster March, too! |

Halloween Greetings from Trail Creek Farm
Susan has designed a really cool Treat Bag for Halloween! She has out-done herself with this one... and I just love it! First, the kit contains the READY MADE 12 x 13 black and white checkered totebag, complete with yellow polka-dot handle. Next, she's taken 30ct Honeysuckle Weeks hand-dyed linen, and hand-screened a pattern on there -- to give it the Banana Popsicle flavor!
Fun, funky squares of a background pattern -- very subtle behind your stitching. Next, you stitch the witches and pumpkins, using Weeks hand-dyed flosses, and finally attach all to the bag with the included fabric-covered buttons! Stitched area
measures approx 5 x 6... but with the bag, you get lots of visual impact for that 5 x 6 inch area! Awesome, bright colors, the screening on the linen is such a cool, fresh idea... this is darling!
Cute door decoration or fun candy bag! Kit includes the bag, screened linen, chart and covered buttons. You add the flosses from your stash. (She's even tied the package together with orange, yellow and black checkered ribbon that you can use to dress up the tote!) |
Bone Appetit from The Cricket Collection
Well... *never* trust a skinny cook! Chefs 'Click' and 'Clack' are stirring up a big pot of haunting stew... that YOU are welcome to try! (I'm on a diet!) What a fun kitchen decoration to offer a lighthearted warning that this IS the haunting time of year... 'and one must beware of that which is simmering in the soup pot!' Stitched on 30ct hand-dyed, it uses regular DMC flosses, finishes approx 9 x 9, and has a couple of little blackbird embellishments.
Offered as a chart, Vicki has also included a really cool strawberry pin cushion design in here... that is only pictured in the top little preview area of the pattern cover! It finishes approx 2-1/2-ish inches around, and is stitched in a medley of awesome fall colors. Full of little maple leaf motifs, she includes the finishing templates and instructions for the emery-filled berry and wool topping.
Both designs in this pack are dynamite... you'll want to stitch them ASAP! For Bone Appetit, Weeks hand-dyeds Straw, Kudzu, Scuppernong or Guacamole would be great color choices of fabric, for the berry... you might want a darker -- Onyx, Gunmetal, Aztec Red, Chestnut or Havana, as the topper is Chestnut Herringbone (but I like Houndstooth better!) |
Hallow Sampler from The Primitive Needle
The Primitive Needle has designed a fun Halloween-inspired piece -- that features alphabets and silly little Halloween creatures and motifs scattered everywhere. It's kind of refreshing, because the owl isn't by the O, and the moon isn't beside the M! My absolute favorite part, though, is that funky cat between the S and T! Isn't he just the cutest little thing? What's with that long body, 'arched back' and too-cute smile... and those little legs??? I think he *steals* the charm of the piece! Offered as a chart, choose a favorite hand-dyed linen... the mangier the better. It calls for only seven different Weeks flosses -- Curry, Sweet Potato, Light Khaki, Charcoal, Bark, Thyme and Cocoa so that's easy! Just very cute, it finishes approx 7 x 7 on 32ct, and is offered as a chart.
|
Stitch a Little Spooky Critters I & II from Brooke's BooksNew from Brook Nolan, come these darling little creatures, ready to dress your Halloween Tree! (in just a few months!!!) Offered in a pair of pattern packs, 'everyone and everything' is stitched on the provided 14ct gold metallic perforated paper, and garnished will Mill Hill beads. Using bits of DMC and metallics from your stash... you can stitch these silly little things in no time flat! Brooke has arranged each piece on the chart for you, to stitch all on one piece of paper, but you can cut the paper apart ahead of time, if you want to take a smaller project with you. My favorites are the Frankenstein, Vampire and Robot! Packages include the charts, paper, beads and pin backings.
***Did you know that Brooke Nolan has been designing The Silver Needle's Secret Needle Night designs for over a year and a half??? She presents us a chart, we get to interpret it for you... it's a great collaboration!*** |
Harvest Trio from Mill HillMill Hill has licensed the artwork of Jim Shore and charted his designs into cross stitch! The first three publications are here, and they are stunning! Offered in leaflet form, each is stitched with DMC flosses and embellished with Mill Hill beads and MH's Jim Shore buttons. Santa's workshop finishes approx 12 x 15, Harvest Trio finishes approx 5 x 12, and Awaken finishes approx 8 x 10. So colorful and pretty, we've packaged the beads and buttons together if you need them! |
What a Hoot! from Cat's Wiskers Studio
Oh my Gosh... this really IS! Darling... this is a little scissor keeper case that features a pair of Kelmscott's little black Putford scissors... disguised as the owl's eyes! Ozzie -- that's his name -- is stitched on 32ct Toasted Almond Linen in DMC flosses. He's done in Bargello stitches, which are actually just straight Satin Stitches, and he finishes into a little case approx 4 x 4 inches! Offered as a leaflet, you get the chart, which is printed in COLOR so that the Bargello stitching is super-easy to follow. Then, all the finishing instructions are included -- along with 8 actual pics of the process, which looks pretty easy in the end! His little scissor eyes are the super squatty-shaped Putford (black) or Seaton (gold) scissors that are charming just by themselves! Inside Ozzie, you have a place for your Clover brand thread cutter (in case you don't want to take off his glasses to cut your threads) or a Clover threader! Cute, cute, cute!
|
Spook-A-Boo from Cat's Wiskers Studio
Another charming piece by The Cat's Wiskers Design Studio, this piece is shown on a box top, but would be neat framed, or simply made into its own little opening box! The Halloween design is full of ghosts, cats, spiders, and witch boots and hats. You'll see flaps in the center, all tied with that green bow... untie the bow, and the flaps float open to reveal the secret message inside... BOO!
In the second pic, you see the plaid lining stitched on the underside of the flaps. A really fun and different project idea, this is presented in leaflet format with great charts, placement and finishing instructions.
Stitched on 32ct Lilac Belfast Linen in DMC flosses, and opalescent metallic for the spider webs, the whole thing finishes approx 4-1/2 inches square. Really, really cute... the best part is that you have a *whole year* to finish it before Halloween!!!
|
Halloween Line Up from The TrilogyTrilogy celebrates Halloween in a big way, with lots of teeny weeny motifs, all lined up in the cutest way! Offered as a leaflet, Halloween Line Up joins the seasons already published, and is just as charming. Finishing approx 5 x 5 on 28ct linen... (our Spring Line Up shop model is worked over one thread so it's half that size!) every row features such fun little things. Check out the owls at the top, then all the spiders... then the precious and scary Trick-or-Treaters at the bottom! You have Superman down there, an angel, I think a pirate, and definitely a mummy... Great colors of DMC OR hand-dyed! Two more new designs are available for you on our Trilogy page. |

Beads N Paper from Stoney CreekIt's the right time of year to showcase these little designs... all four are full of great color and shading, and pretty design detail! Offered as complete kits of the chart, perforated paper -- it's hand-painted and distressed looking, beads, flosses on a numbered palette, and necessary needles, each finishes approx 3 x 8. The designs are all seasonal and cute... and I really can't choose my favorite!
|

Four New Halloween Designs from Cross-Eyed CricketWell, it isn't very often I get a call from the shop saying basically "lookee here!" But I did yesterday when these came in! So, here are the four new designs from Cross-Eyed Cricket. Again, you have to put up with my descriptions until Lindy is back, but I think you'll have more than enough to decide that this is a very cool set of Halloween designs that you *must* have for your stash.
Based on the legendary poem, Sleepy Hollow is shown stitched on 3 panels, totaling about 15 inches wide!
If ornaments are your thing, Ghosties & Ghoulies and Things That Go Bump in the Night will fill the bill. Ghosties & Ghoulies even comes with basic finishing instructions.
The Eyes Have It gives you three separate designs, including one for a matching jar label and lid.
How about using some of the DMC Effects threads for some of these -- one even glows in the dark! |
A Witches Pocket from Crown & Thistle Designs
Crown & Thistle has released a fun Halloween-flavored sewing case pattern full of tiny motifs on the outside, and fun little details inside. Offered as the chart, your case finishes approx 6 x 11, and then folds in half. Outside, the designs feature a few special stitches and lots of great overdyed Crescent Colours flosses. Rows and rows of small motifs, the signature line reads 'conjured by...!'
Then, on the inside, there are instructions to make a tiny acorn fob, and a needlebook that reads 'book of spells!' It is a hand-drawn chart -- which I haven't seen in quite some time -- but it is a charming piece, something lots of fun to have, stitch and enjoy!!!

Thanksgiving Harvest Fairy from MirabiliaMirabilia's final (joins Halloween, Christmas, Valentine, Easter and New Year) of her six Holiday Fairies, she is stitched on 32ct Natural Linen in 13 shades of Crescent Colours overdyed flosses, and is highlighted with Mill Hill beads of coral and iridescent green. "She sets the table, she lights the candle, and she kisses her family. She gathers from her garden as she walks in the brisk Autumn air. She counts her blessings for love and beauty and all the gifts of the earth."
Lots of pretty lavenders, pinks and reds, she finishes approx 6 x 7-1/2. Offered as the complete kit of limited edition chart, linen, needle, flosses and beads. |
Autumn and Halloween from Bleu de ChineTwo of Bleu de Chine's charming heart samplers, each of these is stuffed with tiny motifs of it's season! Both are offered as charts, and call for DMC flosses. Extra instructions are written in French -- but all you really need to recognize are the symbols and those world-wide DMC numbers!!!
Finishing approx 8 x 8 on 28ct, I think the squirrel tails need fuzzy, the acorn caps need some French Knots, the ghosts need opalescent, and the spiders could be shiny black metallic!!! So many fun thing you can do with these! The heart shape is classic and graceful... very well done, and quite unique! (Make sure to see the rest (20-ish!) of our collection of these fun heart samplers! |
On Halloween Night from M DesignsThis spooky scene joins M-Designs set of Spring and Summer Evening designs... it's the graveyard on Halloween Night... full of haunting ghosts and the full moon. Offered as the chart, this is stitched on Picture This Plus Opalescent 32ct Linen that has been dyed a deep teal color. Totally awesome as far as fabric goes, the tone is so perfect for the design.
Finishing approx 5 x 14, this is stitched in Crescent and Weeks overdyeds. Smyrna Crosses decorate the border, one-over-one stitching in the verse that's very 'hidden' in the sky, this'll offer a little friendly fright to your Halloween! |
Halloween Trio from Lilybet Designs Well, THIS is cute! A darling trio of very scary-looking creatures... it's the eyes that do it on Charlie, Buck and Ethel! (their given names!) This is a small chartpack that offers all three faces. We've included the specified Just Another Button Co swirl buttons for the eyes, because they're so fun! Stitched on 36ct, each finishes very dinky in size -- approx 2-1/2 inches square.
Perfect for small Halloween ornaments, the models here are shown in Twisted Threads cool flanged-tin frames. It seems that the metal is a great finish for this scary-kind of thing... the frames overall measurement is 6 x 6, with that inner opening -- about 2-1/2 x 3 for the stitching. Real quick,
different, and cute!

Autumn Snapperland!from Bent Creek
'Autumn is a second Spring, when every leaf is a flower.' Bent Creek's final celebration of the Four Seasons -- in Snapper Card Designs! Presented in 4 small individual designs, Harvest Time is the first, with the barnyard and scarecrow outside. Autumn Walk is the second... the trees wander and follow the hikers a bit. Pumpkin Hunt and Turkey Farm finished it up!!! Each square design is a small 'Snapper' card, that includes a snap as its embellishment. Tying all these small squares together is the complimentary border chart and embellishment package... just like we have been treated to for Winter, Spring and Summer Snapperlands!!!
A really cool series... we just finished an auto-ship for the rest of the cards in this set. |
Bring Your Own Boos from Designs by LisaWell, if you insist... what time does the party start???! This little chart came through our doors this season, and we thought it was really cute! Very simple, Mr Ghostie is inviting you to his Party House! Offered as a chart, it is stitched in DMC flosses on 10ct Tula, and measures approx 7 x 8. Garnished with a few clay spiders and bats... you could get carried away with more if you wanted. There are no involved, specific, technical, finishing instructions for the banner shown on the cover -- which is actually quite refreshing! You just get this delightful chart -- and you get to run with it! Pull fabric and threads from your stash... all you need is a little booze -- oh, SORRY -- BOOS!

Pretty Pumpkins from Glendon Place
Have you ever seen a more festive collection of pumpkins????? New from Glendon Place is this such an incredible design full of 52 colors of 'good ol DMC' floss! Swirls and paisleys, checkerboard
stems and shaded leaves, the color and details are just wonderful!
Stitched on a light-ish green -- you can use hand-dyeds or some of the Zweigart green linens -- this finishes approx 10 x 15 on a 32ct. Just gorgeous, you could get ambitious and stitch the entire thing, or simply the right or left pumpkin by itself. Offered as the chart, it's a definite -- at least for your stash, if not your walls! |
Random Thoughts of Autumn from Erica Michaels
Another of Erica Michaels' newest Fall 2006 releases, this is a really cool design that is monochromatic -- but done in one overdyed color -- so not really!!! Shown stitched on light as well as dark fabric... your thread count is up to you... and although the threads called for are either Crescent Colours Roasted Chestnut or Gentle Art's Maple Syrup... that choice is yours as well!
VERY well done... there are a few special stitches in the acorns to give them texture against the main design, which measures approx 3 x 4 or 5 x 6... depending on that fabric! Very tailored and classy, this is a definite! Get the leaflet, then decide your linen and floss colors! (I'm gonna bug her to do these for more seasons and holidays... cross your fingers!) |
Thanksgiving from Erica Michaels Blessings, Family, and Gratitude... 'tis the season!!! This is a simple block-letter design that will be at home in any decor. Actually, it's PERFECT for what I call 'The Pottery Barn Look'... the clean, uncluttered and streamlined look of contemporary design in young homes created today.
I know that sounds 'canned' but it's really true. Your children and grandchildren don't want geese and turkeys dressed in aprons to commemorate the Holidays... they want this clean, tailored, sophisticated look. So... if your walls are full... stitch this for someone special that has a young home, a beginning family... and years and years ahead of them to fill up those walls! Offered as a leaflet, Thanksgiving finishes approx 3 x 13 on 25ct. |
Jacks are Wild! from Waxing Moon Well, our Alice, one of the shop gals, has a little grandson named Jack...
who is 3 and has his wild side! So... we're getting this stitched in honor
of little Jack! (Doesn't that third one look like Jack Nicholson?)
Offered as a leaflet, this is one of Waxing Moon's newest
releases, and we thought it was too good to pass up! Finishing approx 5 x
12 on 28ct linen... there are no buttons called for on this, but you could
always excite Jack a little more with a stray spider or two! Pretty
overdyeds, just FUN... |
CrowJackers from Just Nan
Just Nan's 2006 set of little, scary Halloween characters... we get a witch, ghost and tiny Trick-or-Treater all perched on black crows. Check out that little clinging ghost!!!
Darling 2-inch designs, each is shown in Just Nan's Whimzi Frames... the pumpkin one is the new Antiqued Copper finish! Offered as the chart, the Crowjackers are stitched in either silk or DMC... and we have the silk set available if you like! Frames are offered individually, too. |
Halloween Night from Val's Stitchin Stuff
This is a darling book that I discovered at Market a few weeks ago... and we've finally collected most the necessary goodies for it! Both projects pictured are featured in the book... the HUGE Trail Creek Farm pillow, and the fun Halloween Bag, as well. The pillow, a ready-made from TCF has three different fabrics on the front, which accent the fabulous pumpkin orange and tangerine linen banding that your scary verse is stitched on. Stitched entirely in Crescent Colours Pansy Purple overdyed and embellished with a pair of frightful cats and pumpkins, and a few stars, it's a quick stitch that is really, really cute! The pillow measures a whopping 12 x 16, is stuffed firmly, and made of heavy decorator fabric. The Linen banding is a 24ct, and is buttoned on to the pillow with the covered buttons included with that cool pillow. Next, the little treat bag... the kitty on the front is stitched on 30ct Green hand-dyed linen in lots of overdyed flosses. It features a multi-colored Needle Necessities color, as the rainbow border on there... can you see that it matches all the stars? Embellished with a set of those wild-colored star buttons, it buttons to a Trail Creek Farm Tote bag measuring approx 10 x 12. The bag has black and Yellow fabrics on the outside, with orange and white on the inside, coordinating orange fabric covered buttons, the handle is actually wired ribbon, so if you want to use this as a decoration, the handle will have a little body, and be really cute! I just love both of these, and it's a treat to get them all in one leaflet! |
Autumn in the Square from Just Nan
Wow... Nan's fourth and final Season in the Square is here, and it's luscious! (We'd had our hands on the model when she was here for Queen of the Needle, and I wished we could have just hung onto it...!)
Anyway, pretty Autumn colors in the pumpkins and vines that surround the little Falling Leaves Vision charm in the center of the garden, this finishes approx 6 x 6. Delicate, just like the other three, there are 8 squirrels in here, along with apple trees and grapes! |
Night Watch from Threads That Bind I think this scarecrow is dressed in PJ's! Great color -- all punched with the #3 needle in Sampler Threads, this little guy finishes approx 5 x 5. Offered as the design stamped on weavers cloth, this is very classy! |
Frightfully Fun -- A Take Along Kit from The Trilogy Trilogy's newest Fall design follows the 3 x 7 horizontal size, which we love to finish into wedge-shaped boxes in the shop! All those wonderful Fall shades of Weeks and Sampler Threads in here...Brandy, Cinnamon and Sweet Potato to name a few... you're working on 32ct Natural Belfast Linen. The little kitties are sitting in the pumpkin patch waiting for mischief, I wager!
The complete kit contains the chart, threads, linen, needle and star button, all packaged in a clear plastic 'wallet,' designed to Take Along in a hurry!!! |
Witchy Witchy Broomhilda from The Trilogy The 3rd annual Trilogy Witch is here, and she is 'one scary broad!' Big hips, that square smile... her legs aren't too shapely, either!!!
Broomhilda is stitched on 28ct Dirty Cashel Linen and goes with Wilhelmina and Winifred, finishing a petite 3 x 5-1/2. Offered as small cards with their sterling silver jewelry... stitch 'em all together on one piece of fabric... or make a tiny trio of stand-ups for your windowsill... these 'babes' are hot!!! Broomhilda is offered as her tiny card-chart with bird charm. |
On Duty from
Country Threads He's watching the pumpkins... crows circling overhead... the early Autumn sky promising a star-filled evening sky... all is well in the field! This piece is really an eye-catcher! Offered as one of Country Threads newest Punch Needle Patterns, it finishes approx 5 x 6, and is punched with a 3-strand needle. Done in DMC flosses, this is one that our Antiquing Finish Spray would be good with -- to add just a subtle undertone of 'dirt' and 'age!' Such great colors, that Harvest Moon behind him is just the best! Offered as the design stamped onto weavers cloth, with at least 4 extra inches all around for your frame, if you use one, ... you add those flosses. |
Witch Boot? from Prairie Moon
Oh my gosh, this is absolutely Over-The-Top Funky and Halloween Cute! (There is a companion boot/stocking to this -- Mr BonesJangle -- pictured on the Prairie Moon page, so don't miss it!) Stitched on 30ct 18th Century Rook Hand-dyed linen by R & R (pricey, but really cool)... in Weeks overdyed flosses and a touches of steel gray and purple metallics, this HAS to be finished into the cool shape you see in the pic... it is just so fun and different!!!
Offered as the chart, it's presented actual size, so you have the perfect outline stencil/shape for your boot. Then... check out all the fun things going on in here! A haunted house with a spooky tree in the yard, the RIP, silly little bat and nasty-looking spider... its all to complement the 'lady of the house and boot'... the little witch!
The stitch count is 173 x 129, but the actual boot will measure approx 10 x 14. It's backed with Weeks Eggplant Wool, which we do carry, but you'll need lining fabric and buttons to completely finish this wonderful piece! If hand-dyed isn't in your stitching budget... we have lots of pretty linens that will work for this, too. I just love it! |
Moonlight and 11:58 PM from Fern Ridge
This stitched and beaded needlecase and scissor fob set is over-the-top with Halloween personality!!! You'll see from our pics, that each has so many fun little details in the beads and stitching, I don't know where to begin my description! Designed by Fern Ridge, these are offered as complete kits that contain all the necessary beads, threads, findings, charms, fabrics, needles, lining fabrics and linen, beading threads... just everything... except you!
The needlecase features a beaded edge, a sterling spider and skeleton charm, is stitched on 28ct Silvery Moon Cashel Linen in silks, silks and more silks, and overdyeds flosses -- all of which are included in the kit. With special stitches and finishing instructions, the verse -- in a crooked alphabet font -- reads, "Moonlight and it's 11:58pm. Don't just stand there! Come on in. Our Stitch-in is about to begin. The linen we use is a spider's web. Our threads are the hanging moss. The needles we use will delight and amuse. So, come on in. There's no time to lose. It's 11:59 pm and the stitch-in is about to begin!" Lots of black, greys, bronze and brown... this is CHARMING! Finishes approx 4 x 4 when closed, and because of all the cool beading around the edges, this feels heavy in your hand.
The RIP fob is stitched in Peyote Stitch. It's trim features a sterling skull charm, hematite stars and amber beaded accents...all the beads have a frosted matte finish... and make this look
old and weathered! So creative and unusual, this is such fun! |
Halloween Fairy from MirabiliaThis is the third in a set of 6 seasonal fairies... each offered as kits, and each, limited in edition. Joining the Christmas and Easter Fairies... this was has been released in plenty of time for you to stitch it for Halloween! Ezmeralda's House & Hatz Bootique from Brightneedle Oh Gosh, this is SO CUTE, and SO CREATIVE!!! I always study the patterns and kits a little while I'm sitting here writing the descriptions for you... I just love doing that, because I discover so many things that one would miss just by looking at the cover of something. Ann and Liz's words describing this delightful design are exquisite!
I quote the leaflet cover here. "Our resident witch is quite the princess. Her father Jacques prepares the family meals and Sparky the butler keeps track of all the skeleton keys, while Mother haunts the front hall for the daily mail. Brother Igor prefers the cozy quarters of the attic, at rest in a prefab coffin of his own design - he loves to hear the seconds of time ticking away to eternity. And just where is Ezmeralda? Why, out shopping for a new hat to add to her seasonal collection, of course!" (Hatz Bootique is the pattern for the matching fob!)

Ez has a portrait of Frank N. Stein in her boudoir... and there's a mummy portrait in the dining hall... see the green monster under her bed? There are even family secrets buried under the house in the stonework!!! Stitched over two -- on 32ct -- this will finish 11 x 15... so possibly use the 40ct they suggest??? (that's kind of scary in itself!)
Anyway, you'll discover so much more when you get this and stitch or just study it... its precious! Hatz Bootique is a smaller design for the two-sided fob, and it includes a darling little hand-made clay hat button that is featured on the tassel of the finished fob. Cute, Cute! |

Buttons & Beads for Fall 2006 from Mill Hill
The Mill Hill 2006 collection for Fall is here!!! An excellent set this year... Boo House is stitched on black perforated paper, Trick or Treat Collage is on deep green, and the rest are on the favorite brown. We always do our shop models on linen... so we'll choose the corresponding 28ct colors to the paper. Loaded with great oranges, purples, blacks and golds... the set includes a great haunted house -- complete with flying ghosts, and a colorful cornucopia.
Quite a bit of the stitching for these is done in floss -- but the other is all beading. Such a pretty effect, especially if you have a place for them that lets them catch the light. Those beads just glisten! Several of the frames shown in the model pics are decorated with
the smaller bead kits that are also new this year. Make sure to click the
pics to see everything.
All are offered as complete kits of the chart, 14ct perforated paper, tons of beads, all the flosses and necessary Mill Hill handmade buttons. We have always done our shop models on linen instead of the paper, and finished these into doorknob hanging pillows, or something for the kitchen windowsill. So, we are offering the additional linen cuts, if you are interested. This is a darling batch of designs!! |
 |
Autumn Harvest Mini-Kits for 2006 from Mill Hill
Mill Hill's set of mini-ornaments and pins for Fall and Halloween 2006 are here! Quite a nice batch, each is offered as the complete kit of chart, perforated paper, beads and more beads, flosses and any necessary Treasure embellishments.
Each of these features a small cross-stitched piece that is cut out separately, and then sewn on top of the stitching already done... so there is a 3-dimensional quality. The Boo Ghost is cute, the Halloween House is really cute, and the Plaid Pumpkin tops the list as my personal favorite! Each finishes approx 2 x 2... cute as little ornaments or pins. |
Ghoul Train -- in Punch Needle from Prairie Moon
Prairie Moon has converted some of their newest and cutest designs into Punch Needle patterns! Ghoul Train is popular in Cross Stitch, and this version has even more impact and vibrant color! (They've done Angel Train, too!) Finishing approx 5-1/4 x 6-1/2, this is punched with a one-strand needle in Sampler Threads. Background is Black Crow, and Skeletons are Oatmeal, while everything else is punched in awesome colors like Fragrant Cloves, Gold Leaf, Bittersweet, Burnt Orange, Sugarplum, Spring Grass, and a bunch of others. Everything really 'pops' on that black background... so you see all the delightfully scary little design elements. Offered as the line drawing you'll need to trace onto weaver's cloth, the instructions have a larger diagram sheet as well -- just like a paint-by-number -- for thread placement. We really suggest a sturdy Morgan Stand for this, or one of the K's Creations Punch Frames for working this design. It's quite large, and your hands will really welcome the stability of a good stand or working frame. Shown 'matted' atop Weeks Sweet Potato Wool. Extra Eccentric and Equally Exciting!!! |
Ghastly, Ghostly Ghouls! from Just Nan
I'm thinking this is a delightful seasonal companion piece to Nan's High Hopes design! GGG is a delightful design that finishes approx 4-1/2 x 4-1/2 on 28ct Cobblestone Cashel Linen, and features the one-inch miniature pewter coffin charm which actually opens to reveal the dead skeleton inside!!! (Dead skeleton, I guess, is redundant, isn't it?)
Absolutely over-the-top with rich reds, oranges, rusts, chartreuse, and purples, the spooky Halloween garden is filled with spiders, ghosts, cats and toads... quite different than the spring garden of High Hopes!!! Available as the leaflet with the coffin charm, this is absolutely charming... and you need it! Silks or DMCs are called for... whichever you wish! |

Halloween Kitty from The Sunflower Seed
What a silly grin sported on each of our featured guests!!! We stitched our model of this on an outrageous hot neon orange hand-dyed linen -- and believe it or not -- the bright colors all look good together! The red stars, yellow moon, orange Jack-o-Lantern and Black Cat all POP on that bright linen!!! Stitch something they'll notice from across the room... they'll think you're nuts... but this IS cute!
Offered as the chart, finishing approx 6-1/2 x 7 on 28ct hand-dyed linen (I forget our color) it's stitched in a variety of Weeks and Sampler Threads overdyeds.

Thanks from Just Another Button Company Here's a lovely harvest basket brimming with Fall Plenty, straight from the garden! (Actually the ovens of Just Another Button Company!) Stitch the 5 x 5 basket design, and embellish with Indian Corn, Grapes, an Eggplant, Apple, Sunflower, Peas and Celery, Turnip and Yellow Squash! Then, don't forget that pumpkin pie resting on the napkin... and the little bird keeping watch over all of it! An appropriate decoration for this time of year... it'd be fun as a stand-up on your kitchen table or island! The chart is complimentary with the purchase of the button package.

Autumn Garden Sampler from The Victoria Sampler The Fall garden in VS's series of delightful, skinny little samplers, this one is just as cute as all the rest! The eighth so far (Rose Arbor, Cottage, Butterfly, Woodland, Noah's, Winter, and Seaside are the others...) this is stuffed full of tiny details and motifs. Winter Garden, taught by our Gale, is our featured Linen Stitching class this Fall in the shop!
Anyhow, the overdyed cottons and silks used are yummy, (burnt orange, sable, mulberry, harvest grape...!) the piece measures a mere 2 x 8, and is an absolute delight to stitch because of all the variety of stitches and textures.
