Here's a limited edition happy little fellow for the season! Val Danish presented here this weekend... and little Jack was a surprise bonus for the class ladies. We have a few kits left over to share. Grab a needle, a little black floss and some glue.

The complete kit for 4-inch tall Jack includes orange wool for his pumpkin head, 3 wool sunflower pieces, green and brown felted wool for his leaves and nose, orange polka dot ribbon, 3 hand-made Just Another Button Company clay buttons - his eyes and flower swirl, 2 black painted spools (one for his stand and the other for his stem) and a black topper button.

Birds & Berries
from Summer House Stitche Workes
We welcomed Beth Seal here this past weekend as a guest designer at our Grand Summer Stitching Event - and this charming little red, white and blue bird was her exclusive bonus to us!

Companioning the class kit, it's a sweet bird nestled among the summer leaves. Finishes about 3 x 3 on 32ct, and is offered as a single chart.

We also enjoyed a terrific trunk show... a took a few pics of all the charming Fragment cushions... when you scroll down to the Fragments in Time sets, you'll see even more. I just LOVE all of these! Thanks Beth!

Presenting The Pink Tulips Sampler
from The Drawn Thread
Cynthia was here last weekend as one of the guest designers at our Grand Summer Stitch Retreat - and she brought US a treat! Exclusively available at The Silver Needle, this charming little piece was inspired by the two guys who live next door to her - they brought her Pink Tulips on Valentine's Day this year!

Stitched on 32ct, it's just 64 stitches in size - so about 4 inches in size. Coded for silks, she has conversions on her site for DMC. Then, if you want, you can Google conversions to just about anything else you want. Just a pretty piece, it pops against the darkish fabric background!

She Shed Thread and Bead Mats - click for more I Stitched at The She Shed!
We have darling little stitching thread and bead mats that celebrate our Silver Needle She Shed Events! (We JUST missed our Cross Eyed Cricket Event... these came yesterday!) A large vinyl card, these measure 7 x 10 in size. They feature 12 thread holes, a 4 x 8 area of (attached) fleece to hold needles, loose beads and charms, and a needle minder that matches the artwork on the board.

Something to commemorate your visit... you survived a retreat weekend in the She Shed! We have these available when you come, or via the mail in case you've been and want one now!

Silver Needle Squirrels from The Blue Flower and Lindy Stitches - click for more Presenting Silver Needle Squirrels, a Silver Needle Exclusive from The Blue Flower
Silver Needle Squirrels features 4 stitching squirrels each perched atop their own acorn tuffett. Everyone is a different color... but their little hats match. Finished into a rather large octagon shaped cushion - about 6 inches in size, the center is anchored with a clay spool-of-thread button.

Charted for hand-dyeds and DMC, Jeannine chose a very light hand-dyed green background linen. We have fun acorn buttons and leaves - so you might want a different button on the underside, and Lady dot's hand-dyed velveteen would be wonderful as your backing material, and the chenille or baby balls would be fun as edging trim.

Cold Noses from Lizzie Kate and The Silver Needle Cold Noses from Lizzie Kate and The Silver Needle Presenting Cold Noses by Lizzie Kate!
It's time to enjoy our previously-unreleased exclusive design Cold Noses by Lizzie Kate!
Stitch a row of cute penguins with their snowman buddy. Everyone is ready for a snowstorm - complete with warm neck scarves and shovels in hand!
This is the ORIGINAL design Linda used in her final appearance at The Silver Needle's 2018 Summer Stitching Event. Our chart includes all the original button embellishments to stitch the main trio pic of penquins and snowman AS WELL AS the Casual Friday and Prom Penguins (he is the one wearing the tux!) - both bonus charts that are included in our pack!

Darling, darling... ours is presented on the featured 32ct Crystal Mint linen by Picture This Plus... we have that available separately as well. (Crystal Linen is not longer made... so the fabric will not always be available going forward... so if you think you want it... get it NOW. The cut is large enough to stitch all the designs.) Our packs include the nose and snowflake buttons to stitch each chart, as well as a smattering of glisteny seed beads for the background snow. The design is coded for Weeks hand-dyed flosses and a smattering of DMC. Just a special November treat to help you celebrate the upcoming snowy season!

Hannah's Sampler from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more Hannah's Sampler from Shakespeare's Peddler - click to see more Hannah's Sampler
from Shakespeare's Peddler
Here is Shakespeare's Peddler's newest reproduction sampler - Hannah's Sampler. Theresa found the original in terrible condition, but could tell she loved the leafy border and the charming farmhouse - next to the brick wall - covering that little babbling brook. Very pretty colors of reds and greens in here, the row of diamonds below the alphabet are done with Rice Stitch. Those bricks in the wall and the waves in the water are all loosely placed in the original... so neat... you can do that too. Stitched on 36ct Weeks Straw Linen with silks (Gloriana, Needlepoint Inc and Au Ver a Soie) or DMC, it measures a generous 16-1/2 x 15-1/2 in size.

Teresa came to Tulsa for a weekend retreat in our new 'She Shed' Stitching Room... and presented this sampler as our Silver Needle exclusive. (Our class included three small take-out designs from this charming piece... so the weekend was really a treat.) 'Raggamuffin #3' refers to her third antique reproduction piece that came from a really ratty, mangy, and damaged sampler that just needed a little love! So... Hannah's original sampler as well as her reproduction now hang happily at our shop... and she'll be here for years to come!

Announcing The Silver Needle's Anniversary Scissors!
DOVO Solingen - click for more Limited Edition Gold Embroidery Scissors by DOVO
Directly from Solingen, Germany - Exclusive to The Silver Needle

The Silver Needle's 35th Anniversary Scissor Circle - click for more We commissioned embroidery scissors from our favorite scissor manufacturer - DOVO - of Solingen, Germany! What a fun Birthday Celebration this was for us.
We chose super-favorite styles that DOVO has never produced in their brushed gold finish before. The scissors will never be available to anyone else... they are exclusive to The Silver Needle ONLY! It is our One-Time Anniversary set... so once they are gone, they will be gone forever!

The DOVO company had manufactured fine cutlery for almost 140 years. The embroidery scissors they made are painstakingly precise in measurement and balance. Their tips are sharp - be careful - you can cut yourself with these! The cutting action is soooo smooth - something about the featured brushed finish of our Anniversary Set feels like nothing else. DOVO scissors are simply lovely to look at, hold and use! These are definitely a treat for any stitcher!!!

Our scissors are forged from Stainless Steel, machine and hand-honed into perfectly smooth pieces. Treated to a "Gold Plating Bath," we end up with beautiful, sleek cutting instruments for our needlework. Since these styles were never *in the production schedule* till we commissioned them (it took 2 years to get to this point!)... they are being made NOW... only for us!

Presenting our Anniversary Scissors: The Antonia (now sold out), Margaret and Pauline (also now sold out). Named after my Grandmother, Aunt and Mother, we named our scissors so they'd be easy to identify... and not be just more 'pretty faces' in the world of scissors! Here we go:
  • Margaret - Wow... this is a wonderful little 3-1/2 inch scissor. The blades are CURVED. NO... you don't get a 'curved cut' -- remember there just a razor-sharp, and very thin edge that is touching your threads as each is cut! The scissors are straight, but the blades curve 'up' a little, which gives your hand much more room to 'get in there' to get a close cut. You can maneuver your scissors much closer to where you want to be. Might seem strange, but you'll love how they feel. Margaret's blades are only 3/4 of an inch long, but the length on the way to handles gives you lots of leverage, very precise and nice to use! (My Aunt Margaret wasn't the 'curvy type' gal... but she was the single sister, she had a glamorous job downtown, and spending the night at her house was the BEST! Together with my Mom, she loaned me my SN starter $$!)
So... Treat yourself to perfectly lovely needlework scissors. I am sure you have lots of fun designs in your stash to stitch fobs or scissor cases for them... if you don't... we can help with that, too!

Very Berry from Erica Michaels - click for more Very Berry from Erica Michaels - click for more
Introducing... Very Berry!

Linda Stolz of Erica Michaels has designed an EXQUISITE wool strawberry... stitched on 30ct silk gauze!!! Designed to be a scissor fob or tiny pin cushion this little 2-1/2 x 1-3/4 confection is *way too pretty* to eat... and I'd never stick pins in mine!!! Here are all the details!

Stitched in Continental Stitch (just the first half of a Cross Stitch), your berry calls for 5 different shades of Gentle Art's hand-dyed Simply Wool -- you'll be stitching with one ply of thread. The stitched berries that wrap around the piece are little checkerboards of Mulberry and Buckeye Scarlet, the blossoms have hints of golden Brandy in them, and the leaves are a deep Blue Spruce, all against a Roasted Marshmallow background! A miniature strawberry patch on your Very Berry! Next, the berry top features matching Weeks Dye Works hand-dyed wool leaves!!!

Very Berry from Erica Michaels - click for moreVery Berry from Erica Michaels - click for more Charted for regular stitching, you could do this on linen... but our exclusive kit contains 30ct silk gauze instead! (Bigger holes than linen -- NO KIDDING!) When you are finished with the stitching, the long side is joined into a cone-shape, and the top is drawn/gathered together, with tiny wool leaves attached to the top! Just darling!!!

Offered as the complete kit, we have included the chart, gauze, 8 complete skeins of Gentle Art's Simply Wool, Weeks Dye Works wool, and your needle. Complete assembly instructions are included, along with stitching tips for the gauze! I'm holding the precious little berry in my hands in some of our pics... you can see how petite it is, and how very special and unique! *Thank You, Linda* for designing something so awesome... just for The Silver Needle!

A Needle of Silver from Hands On Design - click to see more
A Needle of Silver
from Hands On Design
We hosted Cathy Habermann during our annual 2018 Summer Stitching Event... and here is a tiny benefit! To honor the gals at The Silver Needle, she incorporated our shop name into her verse: A Needle of Silver & a Heart of Gold. She has designed us a pin cushion that measures 76 x 77 in stitch count.

Included with the chart is a bit of aqua felt to mark the place to poke needles and pins... and we just love it! Stitched on 32ct Antique White Belfast with DMC flosses of yellow, aqua and mossy greens. Offered as a chart. Thanks Cathy!!!

Miniature Scissor Blocks -- click here to see more! Miniature Scissor Blocks
OHhhh... we have the cutest miniature scissor blocks! Made from assorted woods, these little 1-1/2 x 2 x 2-3/4 chunks feature a slanted top, complete with ruler slot. Along with that slot, notice the larger hole near the top? That holds a pair of 3-1/2 to 4-inch embroidery scissors. Then, notice the two smaller holes? They store needles. Each of them as a tiny magnet in their bottom -- just enough to make your needles *cling* so if the block get knocked over, no needles errantly spill to the floor.

Not big, not heavy, just functional and cute! The slit can hold a small pattern, or one of our rulers or paddles that double as thread organizers. If you order multiples, we'll try to mix up your woods, but try to match ruler and organizer woods to blocks. All of these are just the coolest things!

4-Inch Wooden Ruler Thread Organizer -- click here to see more!
Fun Ouija Thread Organizers!
Something cute for your stitching threads... use this 3-3/4 x almost 6-inch mini 'gameboard' to hold your project threads. The coordinating needle minder - the planchette - is what we used to move around the board to tell our future and fortune! It features two magnets so you can attach it to fabric if you need to.

Just a fun blast from the past! Want to know more about the history of Ouija Boards?

Sweet Honey from Shepherd's Bush -- click to see lots more
Announcing: The Town Square!
from Forty Cross Stitch Designers
A darling set of 40 tiny shops, businesses and churches that together, make up an awesome Town Square and Village!!! A collaboration between different designers and vendors at our Summer 2006 Wholesale Needlework Market... everyone got together, and designed a particular building as part of the overall village.

Sandie's Sweet Shop I can't remember off the top of my head who did what... but I do remember that Shepherd's Bush had a Honey Shop, Mosey 'n Me did the bookstore, Crescent Colours, now Classic Colorworks, had the saloon, Lizzie Kate did the Candy Shop, Sweetheart Tree had a Sweet-shop... there is a knitting shop, quilt shop, frame shop (East Side Moulding did that one!), a general store, haberdashery, bakery, a button shop -- done by Just Another Button Co!. The town hall, jail, fire station... Bent Creek did the fish shop... I could go on and on!

Anyway, offered as a set of 'freebie cross stitch charts' to those shops who attended the show all those years ago... Silver Needle has loaded all of these charts onto one CD for you... so you can have them all in one place, and print any or all... as many times as you wish! (We weren't sure our copier was up to all those thousands of copies anyhow... and nobody jumped up to baby-sit it while they ran!)
Cross Stitch Shop
Because of the time and effort involved in producing the set and duplicating the CDs, we have them available for $5.00 each. No limit to the number of CDs... good inexpensive stitcher surprises here! Ready to print in .jpg format... this is such a treat!

Several of the designers had special embellishments on their houses... we have most all of it, so when you get your Village, and decide which you're going to stitch... you can order any necessary fabrics, threads, buttons and charms from us!

Sorry we don't have a composite pic of the whole Village... nobody had stitched one for the show... but enjoy several of the individual pics we do have!

Presented in a clear dish with a screw-top lid, 150 black straight pins measuring 1 inch x .85mm are nestled inside. Perfect for Halloween pin cushions and sewing cases, or something very 'antiquy'... they have a flat, matte black finish that matches our black scissors.

Klaer Ultra-Fine (Beading) Threader
A super-duper thin wire in melted into this plastic threader, securely attached to thread teeny needles, perfectly! Used in quilting, beadwork, heirloom sewing and fine needlework, the super-fine, diamond-shaped wire is designed for threading 'Betweens #12,' 'Sharps #11 and 12,' Milliners #11, and Beading #10 & 12. Absolutely wonderful... you'll want these to keep in every needlecase you own! Ours are packaged 2 to a pack, in a clear, protective plastic sleeve. Really cool!

Ultra-Fine Threader

Klaer All-Purpose Threader
A great all-around needle threader... these will thread Tapestry needles as well as many others. The durable design features a wire that is fused into the plastic housing, along with a recessed cutting blade on the opposite end! There is even a small hole provided in case you want to attach it to a favorite chatelaine or project! Ours are packaged in pairs in a protective plastic sleeve. Very handy!

All-Purpose Threader

Klaer Needlework Threader
The heavy-duty version of our other two threaders, this one is perfect for Tapestry and Chenille needles. Used for needlepoint, cross-stitch, hardanger and embroidery, it's perfect for perle cottons, yarn, ribbons and specialty threads (like some of the heavier Rainbow Gallery ones!). The square design of the threader allows the thread to 'spread out' as it passes through the eye of the needle, so there is much less stress, (and less breakage later on!) It features a recessed cutting blade, as well as a hole for attachment to a chatelaine or sewing case. Packaged by the pair in a wonderful clear plastic protective sleeve.

Needlework Threader

Klaer Threader Collection
A trio of needle threaders, each with a specific use. Specially packaged for The Silver Needle in a handy, clear storage sleeve. $7.50 pkg.

Ultra-Fine: for quilting and beading needles.

All Purpose: a good general use threader with a built-in cutter.

Heavy-Duty Threader: for larger threads and delicate fibers, too. Also has a built-in cutter.
