Welcome to our Best Sellers Page!
These are a few of our really fun things that keep selling time and time again! They may not be the newest... but they're definitely worth a visit. We were filling up our Products We Carry and Just Arrived pages, and were afraid they'd take too long to load. This solves the dilemma, and gives you something else fun to look through! Hope you find things you can't live without!!! |
Needle-Safe
These have been around 'since the beginning of time!' 2-1/4 x 4-1/2 x 5/8 an inch in size... they are pretty plain looking, but SUPER handy! Opening it up, you'll find both sides are lined with magnets to hold needles. I have my scissors with a little fob on them in there... needles, threaders,
a little highlighter sheet, a small crystal nail file...you can get a lot
of stuff on one of these! Now, the hinge is plastic. The minute you drop
this for the first time, it will break.
There isn't a shopowner in sight at a class at Market that isn't carrying around one of these that broke in their shop! We all have 'em... complete with rubber band around them...
'cause they're still good -- even with a broken hinge! Kind of like a
'rite of passage!' I whip mine out of my stitching bag going thru the
metal detectors as the airport, and it ALWAYS goes thru with no
problems! Definitely an 'Old Faithful!' |

Autumn Snapperland! from Bent Creek
'Autumn is a second Spring, when every leaf is a flower.' Bent Creek's final celebration of the Four Seasons -- in Snapper Card Designs! Presented in 4 small individual designs, Harvest Time is the first, with the barnyard and scarecrow outside. Autumn Walk is the second... the trees wander and follow the hikers a bit. Pumpkin Hunt and Turkey Farm finished it up!!! Each square design is a small 'Snapper' card, that includes a snap as its embellishment. Tying all these small squares together is the complimentary border chart and embellishment package... just like we have been treated to for Winter, Spring and Summer Snapperlands!!!
A really cool series... we just finished an auto-ship for the rest of the cards in this set. You'll recall Snapperville... the set of 6 houses and businesses... a little town. Then, we were treated to Spring, Summer and Winter Snapperlands -- each of these containing 4 card designs, the border chart and embellishment packs. Quite a collection... each of the seasons or little town are charming, and definitely customer favorites!!! |
Punch It! from Lizzie*KateIt is very hard to pick a best seller among the punchneedle designs. But here's one of our favorites! If you're a PN fan, check out our Punchneedle Designs page, too. Lizzie Kate's new 2007 monthly set of small 3 x 3 punch needle designs has begun with February's design. Offered as the line drawing pre-stamped onto fabric, this one is full of pinks, buttermilk, and soft greens. Easy punching and great colors... our Mona finished the cover model! We've started an Auto-Ship on this new series. Each month we'll get a 3 x 3-ish design that'll take 2 to 3 hours -- tops -- to punch... always full of Lizzie Kate personality! |
A Needlework Garden and Needlebook from Olde Colonial Designs This is an endearing set of needlework 'things' that will be stunning in your collection of tiny stitchery cases and what-nots! A pretty little spot-motif design of traditional sampler elements, there are rabbits, the alphabet, a basket of plenty, and grand stylized florals. The needlebook sports smaller, matching versions of the main design. The set contains this main stitching basket -- complete with a tiny needlebook, and a matching Snip Basket.
Needlework Garden is the main design, and is featured as a lining in the bottom of the 6 x 8 x 2-1/2 woven Nantucket basket, due to be available at the end of January, 2006. The basket itself is a work of art, because it features a finished maple bottom and removable maple lid. Beautifully woven, the basket is heavy in your hands, and feels very substantial. The needlework graces the interior bottom of the basket, revealed when you lift the cover!
Included with the pattern are the chart, finishing instructions that include the templates, heavy board to stabilize the needlework, a ladybug button, snap, lining fabric and hand-dyed Weeks wool for the attached needlebook. You'll add the 32ct Light Mocha Linen and bits of overdyed flosses. (Collards, Schneckley, Bark, Aged Pewter, Briar Rose and Sweet Pea.) Special Stitches include Smryna, Lazy Daisy, Eyelets, Queens, and lots of Satins -- fun ones to do! Very pretty, I think this is an excellent value, because of the charming design and the wonderful basket that's just essential!!! (Now you'll need that little Snip Basket, shown below, too!) |
Nuts Stitch Here from Trail Creek Farm
Oh my Gosh... this is the cutest little acorn pillow... and it even has a matching square-tasseled pillow companion! All you add is an hour or two of stitching and the schnibblets of overyded floss. After you stitch, just button it onto the finished pillow, and your DONE!!! The acorn pillow measures approx 6 x 7 x 3, and features a hanger that's large enough to fit around a doorknob. Wonderful browns and greens... this is sooo fun! |

Character Tape Measures with Personality!
Well, aren't these the silliest little gizmos! Plastic tape measures... pull their tales, noses, or hair, and you're treated to 5 feet of tape measure!!! Measuring 2-1/8 square and 1/2 an inch thick, pull the tape, and press the center button to retract it.
The cow, and puppy are patterned on the backside with their backs -- the puppy's pull is a bone, and the cow's is that hairy tail! Pinocchio's face is featured on both sides, and of course, you pull his nose!!! The happy face is solid yellow on their back side, pull the egg out of the chicken's rear (!), and tug on the Happy Face's wild hair! Very fun and functional for your stitching bag or kitchen drawer!!! (Wouldn't a little person just learning numbers and how to measure things with Dad love these???) |
Buzzzy Bumble Bee Tape MeasureWell, if this isn't the CUTEST little thing... It's a tape measure dressed up as a bumble bee!!! Bright yellow and crisp black velveteen make up his stripes... and he features wired mesh wings and beaded feelers!!! Measuring approx 2-1/2 inches round, pull on busy-bee's tail... and you'll get a 60-inch tape measure that retracts when you squeeze his tummy! You can even sculpt those little wings!!! So much fun for your stitching bag, desk at work, the kitchen tool drawer, cute perched by your sewing machine... stick him with your plants... so you always know where you have a tape measure! So Cute! |
Sheep Tape Measure
Oh my gosh, this is THE cutest little guy!!! A little furry acrylic 'woolen' lamb is the secret hiding place for a very handy tape measure!!! Pull on his little tail... and a 60-inch/150cm tape measure comes out!!! Then, squeeze his belly a bit... and away it goes! Measuring approx 3 x 3, and about an inch thick, our little lambs have ultra-suede feet, ears and face, are just the thing for a stitching bag!!! What a fun little gift... he's just so cute! |
Crystal Nail Files from DOVO A 'bonus' from my German scissor manufacturer, DOVO, this is a 3-1/4 inch long glass nail file, that is absolutely wonderful to use! Because it's crystal, the file side will never dull. The grind is very fine... but really does a nice job. Just a perfect size for your purse or stitching bag, or even needlecase... these are functional and elegant! (My manicurist is from Germany, and she buys these from me each year at Christmas to give to the rest of her favorite clients! How's that for a testimonial?)

Flossie Claus
Flossie Claus has arrived!!!
Mrs Claus is here... complete with her basket of stitching! Just like Needle Nick, she's stitched on 14ct Lincoln fabric in red, green and cream overdyeds. Flossie's cape, collar and fir trim is stitched with Wisper thread from Rainbow Gallery -- an entire card is included in your kit. Flossie has a tiny 'JOY' bell pull in her basket, glasses around her neck, beads and buttons on her dress and apron, even greenery, and scissors for her stitching basket -- it's all included!!! Our Mona has written finishing instructions, and the pattern to construct Flossie just like the pic... and those are included in this kit, along with the red calico backing fabric!!! Such a cool deal!!! Flossie stands approx 8 inches tall... and your Nick NEEDS her!!!
Note: Flossie's name was the result of a contest on Lizzie Kate's website a few weeks ago. Stitchers from all over the country suggested names, and then voted on the best ones. The winner, Rosalie -- from Maine -- who just happens to be one of our customers -- deserves a big, happy congratulations for her winning name!!! |

Count Keepers from Jodie Ballou Here's a fun, functional new toy! A set of two needles, beautifully dressed and attached together with twisted cord, simply place one needle into the center of your fabric (or any other starting point). Count 10 or 20 squares/stitches and insert needle number two. Pick up the first needle to continue counting to wherever you want to end up... and you'll have counted correctly, and hopefully only once!!! Each Count Keeper is handmade and features a beautiful glass bead with elegant silver finding trims. They are all different, available in assorted colors, and sport a matching 3 to 4-inch twisted cord that attaches the bead to the needles. Very dressy and useful!!! Available in two needle sizes -- the #22 for larger fabrics, and the #28 for fine linens. |

Scissor BlocksYou saw these cool little butcher block wooden scissor holders last week... these are just like miniature knife blocks! Our Camp Wannasew Caretakers have been dabbling in woodworking... and during Camp this last spring, discovered we had a need for these... and presto! These are the results of their talents! Measuring approx 2 inches wide, and 3 inches high, each features two rectangular holes for scissors, and one round one for a laying tool or seam ripper (even the stylus for your sewing machine computer!). There is even a magnetic disc recessed into the right side to hold needles! Anyway, most 3 to 4-inch embroidery scissors fit the openings and stay perched ready for you to reach. Ours is pictured with two different scissors, along with one of our pewter laying tools. Very cool, very handy, and really quite a unique little gadget... these will make great gifts!!! |
 |
Mimi's Tape Measure from Olde Colonial Designs
Quite the functional stitcher's gadget, this is an endearing stitching gadget -- a tape measure that is covered entirely in cross stitch!!! Your complete kit includes the retractable tape measure, linen, flosses, felt lining fabric, antiqued silver scissor charm, and wooden pull bead to stitch and assemble the most charming accessory your stitching tote has seen in some time! The picture shows it in my hand, so you can see the finished size... I just love it! The colors are soft taupes, raspberry, and moss green, it's stitched on 32ct creme linen... and truthfully, may be a challenge for some to finish. It's assembled entirely by hand... the instructions walk you through which pieces to assemble to which... and include actual sized templates for the felt interfacings. The tiny fob attached to the end of the measure is less than 1/2 x 1 inch... it's just enchanting! Available as the complete kit. |

Sampler Motifs and Symbolism By Hillside Samplings
This is a beautifully done hardcover book that encompasses facinating info and 'trivia' about American and European sampler motifs found on works in the earlier centuries! There are 61 pages of 500 motifs listed alphabetically -- each with a brief description of it's meanings or history, and charts for 135 of them.
At first, I thought... oh, these charts aren't something that I'd really use sometime... but upon reading through the pages... I couldn't put it down! Did you know that a crab is a symbol of deceipt and cruelty because of the way is was thought to prey on oysters? (I love crab dip... I'd never think anything bad about a crab!) Did you know that each of the 9 digits has specific meanings? And moths... they're frivoulous... they flutter around light, and are associated with the consumption of wealth, because they consume cloth!!! This book has pages and pages of cool things to learn! Following the dictionary, are five sampler charts that are full of those borders and motifs you've just learned so much about. I am really impressed with this book... if you ever want to design a family heirloom, or are simply a sampler-lover... you need this book! 95 Pages. |

Vinyl Project Pouches
These are the cool vinyl pouches that Bent Creek has used to package all their previous Zipper Kits! Available individually, without anything inside, these are great organizers! They're easy to open and close, see-through, and they come in a variety of great sizes -- something for every project you've got going! Soft, heavy plastic, they won't get brittle over time and will last and last! Choose from five sizes! |

And They Sinned by Examplar Dames Design Co This is the story of Adam and Eve, stitched entirely in Sampler Threads of delicious, soft colors. While it looks normal, it is NOT! The stitch count of this is *only* 809 x 169! That's *only* 12 x 58 inches on 28ct!!! Signed by the designers on my birthday this year.. this is a lovely story about the Garden of Eden, and features hundreds of motifs, borders, and lots of alphabets and verses. The chart comes to you on 4 11x17 pages, and although it's done entirely in regular cross stitches... I challenge you to find a more endearing piece! It's been done for competitions already, and stitched over one thread on 40ct silk gauze. Esther remarked today that it would fit perfectly on her scroll frame... and we laughed about how she could carry it around 'forever' in her tote bag! This is truly one of the most remarkable needlework pieces I have ever seen... I took it home, and will probably start it!
(A special note here... When I opened my teeny needlework shoppe in 1984, I knew there would be, and looked forward to, the days I would be able to sit behind my little sales counter and stitch for a few hours between customers. Well, since that quiet stitching time never came to be... and my evening stitching time has taken second place to book-keeping... I'm REALLY picky! I REALLY like this one... and right now, I intend to finish it!!! Give me 5 years!)
Available as a chart... please don't pass this up... it's literally bigger than you! |
 |
The Star De-Tailor This is handy gadget, that helps you anchor short threads. Simply insert the long wire through the back of stitches, catch the too-short ends and pull them through! Great as a small needle threader, too! The star on the end is opalescent plastic, and has a tiny loop so you can attach it to something for safe keeping. |
 |
The Bench
From K's Creations, this is a cool, collapsible foot stool that's just the right size for us stitchers! Raising your feet a little off the floor can take so much stress off your lower back... you'll be amazed! Easy to fold up and tuck into your tote
bag, this smoothly finished oak stool measures just 5 1/2 x 11, and 5" high. The legs fold up under it, and a fancy bolt fastens them in place, making a bundle that is only 3" thick! It takes 2 seconds to unfold... and is just the right size to tuck under your feet while you're stitching! Perfect for stitching weekends, traveling, whatever! |
 |
Do You Have A Clover Yet? This is the coolest little gadget by the Clover Company! Availability is scarce these days for these... it's an antiqued gold thread cutter that feels heavy for it's teeny size! Look closely, there is a recessed, protected razor blade -- circular -- inside, and lots of slits around the edges to insert your thread and cut! No scissors!!!!! It's decorated with flowers on both sides and there is even
a loop at the top to attach to a chain or to tie onto something. Just perfect for travelling! Every stitcher's Christmas stocking needs one, as well as every stitching bag in America!!! |
